Bleach better than all big 3s. Best drip, best power scaling imo, best soundtrack, best character design, best plot, only losing in writing, the other ones planned the story better imo. Like even after all that Ichibei training he still lost to Askin who lost to someone who is weaker than Ichigo but higher iq which doesn't feel satisfying but it kinda make sense. The respect tybw gave to other characters and the bankais are all just so cool.

So we just gonna ignore all the trash filler Naruto had? Both OG and Shippuden? Why does Naruto get a pass on its garbage filler, but Bleach gets called out for it? Naruto’s filler is objectively worse. To the point we’re if you include it, it becomes a 4/10 series.
oh I'm not including Bleach's filler in my interpretation of the series haha, it was more of just a warning shot telling people to skip, the only problem with Bleach filler is the mixed canon episodes where they tried to force the bound arc characters into the arrancar arc, I don't judge anime on filler episodes.
Bleach filler is much better than Naruto's. The only reason it gets a bad name is because of where in the story the filler dropped. People who didn't watch Bleach as it was being released just hear its bad and misunderstand

The reason TYBW is 1000x better than previous bleach is because Kubo is actually there to say how he wanted the anime done and even said he didn’t like the way they portrayed his manga in the past

The fullbring arc is so under valued. There is so much emotional development for Ichigo, psychological drama/personal stakes are at their highest and the animation is great. The MAIN antagonists are pretty good as well imo
yeah I mentioned somewhere around here that I did actually enjoy fullbring quite a bit and probably should've mentioned it but I think by that time in the series some of my interest/investment had faded leading to it not hitting as hard as Soul Society.
I just recently watched bleach from start to finish (minus filler) so I could watch TYBW (I had only watched up to 1/4 of the arancar arc as a kid) and the fullbring arc was honestly one of my favorite parts of the entire series.

the anime I think messed up the middle part cuz when tsukishima starts to manipulate ichigo's frnds and family there is like a wierd boost in writing and storytelling

I love the TYBW so far and that it took the #1 spot on the top 10 list for the winter season. MHA, Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, Bochi no Rock and Demon Slayers had spent all season fighting for it and Bleach kicked down the door, strutted in, pimp slapped them all and said, "get away from my seat." What makes it funnier is TYBW had only been out for 2 1/2 months

Bleach is easily my favourite of the big 3, its actually my favourite anime in general actually! Something about it is just so special to me that I havent found with any other anime and I cant quite put my finger on it, when it was confirmed that it was coming back with the TYBW arc and having dodged spoilers (for the most part), I legit cried haha

I feel that most people discounted the fullbringer arc. Honestly i think that because of it becoming the ending of the show(which it was never ment to be). I think people felt like it was tacked on to run the show longer, rather than being the bridge from arrancar to tybw. If you take it serriously and know its gonna matter moving forward its actually fantastic
yeah Fullbringer is my 2nd fav behind Soul Society but I think the issues the og anime had made it hard to be as invested as I was when I first started the show.
I agree. I actually didn't watch TYBW until I had time to catch up with bleach post Aizen, where I'd stopped before, havign heard it just sucked after. And you know what, it really didn't suck. I didn't even hate the arc immediately following Aizen, because it had been a few years, and I had prepared myself for Ichigo being in this different place. When he fell even further and had to rise back in Fullbring, it was really satisfying. That all said, jumping from that immediately into TYBW was a bit jarring on anime side. Because TYBW's tone is much darker, and it's much faster paced, and ... just so much better. But Fullbring in anime wasn't bad. It just wasn't nearly as good as TYBW.
For real dude, my first watch 10 years ago when I was a kid I HATED the fullbring arc because it felt like a terrible ending to the show. I ended up reading the manga, and then 10 years later (a few months ago) watched the fullbring arc again, fucking LOVED it. Animation top tier, no time wasted with the story development (if anything, a tad rushed but that's ok), really cool new characters introduced. People shit on it constantly still and I defend it with everything I've got now.
Also as far as im aware that arc was really rushed, i didn't read the manga but thats what most people who did say.
@@georgenassar1953 when I watched it for the first time I was 13-14 and all I remember is that I liked the cool fights. nothing remarkable about the arc.
when I grew older and rewatched it... ooohhh boy... it was dark as hell from psychological view (point? not sure if the word fits but you get what I mean). having THE Ichigo instigate about murdering someone is testament to how cruel that kind of torment is. remember that the only reason he wanted to kill aizen was that if he doesn't he will destroy the world. but here it's not even knowing if killing tsukishima will have any effect and yet he's considering it as an option.
and he's still 17 at that point.
I won't ever tell anyone what they can and can't like. But people saying that the two Soul Society arcs are where the series peaked is so weird to me. Like... the Arrancar Arcs has so many peak moments. Great antagonists, amazing fights, and dramatic weight. So it is just wild to me honestly.
I just felt like Arrancar dragged in the anime in a way that didn't hit for me personally on the same level, the climaxes of that arc were a lot less impactful to me than Soul Society outside of like 1 or 2
The first part of Arrancar arc is my favourite in the anime but man, it falls off hard in the fake Karakura and it drags really hard.

Hollow Ichigo cropping up as a very dangerous power inside ichigo was very interesting and there was still alot of unresolved mystery around hollows. I also liked being back in the human world and seeing our characters interact with the others after experiencing growth and change like Uryu lossing his powers. Gotta love seeing Ichigo getting woopd by Grimjow and Yami when Ichigo was suppose to have been stronger after Soul Society. It really added weight that these arrancars werent fooling around when some the soul reapers were struggling. Also Urahara and Yoruichi getting screen/panel time is always a plus. I can go on but the build up was great imo. In the anime because of filler (even though Ashidios was decent, the other one not so good) it really ruined the pacing. I hope they some day recreate it, its the one arc that really needs it, can you imagine Ulquiorra w Vasto Lorde fight animated in todays technology, it would be so amazing up there with the movie quality clip it had.

Yes TYBW is my favorite in bleach, it's like soul society pacing, hype, + arrancar arc hype battles infused in 1 arc, that's why TYBW has been massively successful so far in part1. Although the manga was rushed, theres been so many anime only additions in this arc that it makes the remaining parts so hype to look forward to next parts

The animation it hit harder then ichagos bankai, the pacing was absolutely perfect, the emotion in simple scenes was played out to a thread making each little scene have a whole story, the tension between characters and consequences that character had to have. Really made it the best season of a show I’ve ever watched
I think most will agree, bleach the manga was both style and substance that got shafted by lots of cut content and censoring in the anime, thousand year blood war is the opposite where the manga got shafted by the publisher and Kubo's poor health, but the anime gets to be his director's cut.
I'm not kidding about cut content either, the anime cuts out several critical scenes that are vital to let moments land, especially in the Arrancar Arc.
It’s really interesting to see a classic shonen being revived and adapted with a new modern-shonen lens. It makes me interested in things like the new Naruto remake coming out and any other possible projects like this in the future.
yeap, i'm always interested when they say they're going to change stuff too because it's an underutilized part of the medium that can be good when it works well, but often times they just change shit to be worse than it was originally somehow lol

i somehow knew that you were going to do the "soul society arc hits different" followed by "i havent read the manga" people who have not read the manga dont know how kubo built the story up. I can say it with confidence that all and every asspulls stopped at the soul society arc and afterwards everything had a build up. Some events in tybw seem like asspulls but those are the results of rushed work.
I mean anime is my preferred medium man, when the adaptation is bad that's all I can go off of and Bleach struggles from some of that. The fact that the source material was well adapted in Soul Society for sure helps that arc, but reading manga would never hit the same for me.
I'd say the emotions came back during the fullbringer arc

Loved this review! A lot of the issues I had with the anime were lessened or even just gone in the manga. Would highly recommend giving it a read, the panels go hard too.
Bleach currently is my fav anime and the fun i had watching this anime was beyond my expectations i thought i might not like the show that much bcz of old animation style but boy i was wrong the characters fight scene music plot twists humour all was top notch and loved it so much and i like filler ep too and also like the bount arc and this TYBW arc with new gen animation is fire 🔥 core 1 of the tybw was so good and they nailed the animation... I hope remaining core will be as fire as core 1 also man your video was good too i am looking forward for more of your anime related videos keep up the good work Love form india ❤

if you liked the series this much than i highly recommend you checking the manga up until the TYBW since it was adapted well.
as someone who read and watched Bleach, the anime convey only a small amount of what Kubo's intentions were with the series.
you might even have a different opinion on the series.

@@VirtueCZcams yeah if you do, do a comparison I am interested to see what you think on what they have done with the TYBW adaptation, many people, me included, think it is better than the manga as a result of how involved with the project Kubo himself is and just the time he has had to reflect on what he should have included and what he should not have included.
A lot of people just don't enjoy manga though, that's the reason why most people are anime only. I'm massively into anime, I've seen around 500 different animes and have no interest in manga or LN. I've tried them, just don't enjoy them one bit (same for books). On the other hand, I don't mind manwhas that are dubbed on CZcams, where each page is shown on a video and you have someone commentating the story, I've found some good ones and it's not as if pro VA's are dubbing them. They're not very popular, but I definitely see a market for it and I hope it becomes a thing.
Audiobooks have got pretty big within recent times, so it isn't unrealistic to think there's a viable market for a visual/audio-manga/manwha.
as a new 2021 anime fan, bleach is the first anime i have ever watched. i realised how good it was and i have some new anime friends who watched shows like demon slayer, jjks, black clover, and they ask me y i'm watching a mid show, just purely based off of what they see, the animation. the crazy thing is, they haven't even seen it nor do they even know who ichigo is 💀
i hope many children can one day realise how influential and phenomenal bleach is, just as much as naruto and one piece
yeah, Bleach is truly one of the giants that paved the way for the rest of the industry, and it kinda sucks that people will do that with older anime haha there's a lot of great older stuff like Yu Yu Hakusho that people never give a chance because the animation is older.
I think the lesson here should be teaching your children to enjoy any form of media because good story can be comoletely missed because of low budget (not always the mangas fault) or old animations.
The funny thing I find in that is the authors when asked said bleach was one of the main inspirations for those animes
I'm with you. I only get to see the big three during the height of the pandemic. Didn't enjoy One Piece. Naruto and Bleach were my favorite, especially Bleach. TYBW is soooo good, cant wait for the next season!
Nice review on my fav series. I know it got its faults and it got a lot of hate in the past. The fans of the series till this day will often hear a lot of bs comming from other fandoms and it creates a lot of toxicity. The return of bleach is a done very well. Its a big "i told you" kinda moment for the fans that had to endure the hate. Honestly im kinda tired of all that stuff and its just nice to hear someones views without them proclaiming them to be facts.

this is my favorite anime of all time an i feel for the people who didnt skip the bount ARC but you cant sleep of the a couple of the filler theres one im also leaving out because i cant remember the name of the arc but the rest of the show is so good an the manga is the best an most addicting manga ive ever read i just started reading the rest of the tybw arc in manga along side the new adaptation an the anime has so many new things they added an are adding in the next part of the 4 cours its a must if you enjoy manga
you're probably talking about the zanpakuto rebellion arc, I also enjoyed that one even though it was filler, and some of the movies aren't bad either

So here's my 2 cents from reading the manga first:
Pacing seems much better in the manga, as knowing how dragged older shows like OP, Naruto and Bleach were, I knew something was wrong when there were 6 filler arcs in the 1 Arrancar arc so there definitely was a pacing problem. Soul Society had the least pacing issues anime-wise since it was adapted pretty lean and I think that's why it's very beloved. So reading Bleach is extremely quick as the chapters are very lean of content but binging volume by volume the sequences are viewed better as a whole. The fullbring arc it took me a while to actually watch but reading I could finish it in a sitting.
There are also issues with the anime cutting small character interactions that butcher characters later. Orihime unfortunately suffers with this hard. Kubo's artwork really supports these issues from happening because he just has some of the cleanest artwork that's easy to read and on 2nd viewing he puts so much detail into the characters actions and emotions. Even a small quip are small hand movement goes a long way in making his characters feel alive. The censorship was also a problem like in chapter/episode 1 when Ichigo helps out the ghost girl it plays differently. In the anime she's chased by the hollow but it leaves for Ichigo, but in the manga it straight up kills her like her head rolls on the floor 💀.
This sounds very negative but these are main points I feel the original anime unfortunately suffer from simply from its time. The og anime does give its benefits like the soundtrack, viewing the actually animated sequences, and voice acting for the characters. To be honest I wasn't the biggest fan of Yoruichi when reading but then I heard her anime voice then understood everything.

Which I think that's what makes TYBW so good right now it's adapted to be tightly made without the filler but with even better production and no censorship. Similar to soul society as that was like 40 episodes straight of no filler while TYBW is uncensored, will have added scenes, and is estimated to be around 50 episodes when finished. TYBW with only 13 episodes really feels better than the manga and I'm excited to see what Kubo adds in the rest of the arc as both anime onlys and even manga readers won't know what gonna happen. It's gonna be really fun.

I think filler is different than a pacing issue, a pacing issue would be more like One Piece that 9 pages of a chapter can be turned into like 2 episodes. Filler is more like an alternative to bad pacing. Instead of elongating chapters to wait for manga chapters to come out, they make filler. That way it gives you the option of skipping filler, instead of having to sit through the bad pacing. That being said there were points that the original bleach had some pacing issues but that's the least of bleach's problems tbh. Like you said the censorship in the original took away a lot of the impact, and the fact that soul society and hueco mundo invasions were essentially the same arcs with different characters. Honestly, TYBW did great in its adaptation and hopefully they fix some of the issues from the manga like the rushed ending and chapters in the second invasion, etc.
I really love the tension in TYBW cause for the first time the supporting characters (not antagonists) also die. The tension, the emotion, and the stakes cannot be higher. For the first time we can know that our beloved characters are not immune to death and risk.
YES! like i'm not saying every show has to be a bloodbath but you have these villains you are hyping up sooooo much (arrancars) and ultimately they didn't feel that threatening and it didn't feel like they were really challenging anything morally either so it just felt kinda flat to me idk.
@@VirtueCZcams arrancars arc are more like flashy animation rather than the story/stakes. I personally only like the moment Ichigo died in Ulquiorra's hand and nothing else. Haha
I started watching Bleach about 3 months ago, I was looking for something new to watch and I binged it all day and would go to work at night and put it right back on as soon as I would get home! Now TYBW is so incredibly good, I can't wait for season 2!

The manga is definitely better especially in terms of pacing. I disagree with the idea that there's no emotion in previous arcs (especially fullbring), or not enough, but I think Kubo's style is subdued enough on that front that I can see where you're coming from.
yeah that seems to be a common belief, I actually did like fullbring and regret not talking about it but I think that some of the issues the adaptation has kinda took away some of my interest/immersion by the time I got there that it didn't hit as hard as soul society did early on.
Nice video, the *ass pull* arguement is flawed. So the zanpakto and ita master are one and the same. So once you and zanpakto spirit know each other they give you the power. Now you have to wield it. And ichigo loses alot. The foreshadowing is superb. I understood your thoughts.
Bleach is a show with a caveat. If you haven't had trauma in your life, it's not gonna hit you like it does.
ass pull argument is in reference mostly to how in the anime they give multiple explanations for things that occurred earlier in the series in a way where it seems like Kubo was coming up with these answers on the fly as if he felt the previous ones he gave were not sufficient, there are parts of Bleach where I think the foreshadowing is really good and other parts where it's kinda eh but it works out in the end. I see what you mean about the trauma though, Orihime's story at the beginning in particular stuck out to me.
Personally I still think Final Getsuga Tensho and plot arrow are the only real asspulls
Vasto Lorde has a big foreshadowing. Blut Vene small things,but it has at least a story (can't say it was a perfect execution)
The main problem is that people couldn't understand why some things happened (mostly because there were very few informations) so they just call it plot armor and went ahead with it

For me bleach peaked at arrancar arc, so many great moments! Although anime pacing felt really slow sometimes
That said if things done correctly, TYBW could surpass all previous arcs. And they did really fantastic job with the first cour! This far every aspect of the show was beyond my expectations, I hope they’ll keep it that way

Let's be real, Bleach is a classic, the original series (not counting TYBW). If it got adapted now, just imagine how much of a banger it would be all the way through. It'd be crazy-good seeing how far anime has come since then.
This is a super good review of the series imo, now I am curious on your views when it comes to the full bringer arc. The arc is overhated imo, as it actually shows Ichigo growing mentally, and realizing that he actually does want his power back.
Fullbringer is probably my 2nd favorite arc in OG bleach I enjoyed it, but I think because it came later it didn't hit as hard as Soul Society I think.
Though it WAS one of my first anime, and the first of the Big 3 that I watched, I don't think I'm being nostalgic when I say that Bleach is a top 10 manga/anime for me. So Idk that I necessarily agree with some of your takes regarding a lack of stakes and stuff. I think the emotional highs, the intricate underlying themes, the high tier character work, the unmatched villains, an amazing power system, phenomenal art, and the payoff of so much buildup in TYBW absolutely warrants it's position. The good just FAR outweigh the bad. Like my only major criticism is that some of the main cast don't get the shine they really deserved (Chad for example). But with such a massive cast, and a super tight weekly deadline on top of the health issues Kubo experienced, I seriously don't consider that a big deal.
I actually cut my bit about the cast being a little stuffed cause I thought it was unfair/threw off the flow of the video lol. To me the anime itself the big moments in hueco mundo/arrancar just didn't really effect me emotionally like that but everyone will have a different interpretation of the series and effect them differently. I said a lot of the things that you did in regards to positives and overall I enjoyed the show so idk.

Bleach honestly has god tier filler that actually meaningfully expands on its world (Zanpakuto Rebellion is amazing, so much so that it become sort of pseudo canon with stuff like Shunsui's bankai design) and most of the ire for Bleach's filler comes from the fact that in the late aughts waiting for new episodes one week at a time felt demoralizing when it was interrupted for literal years with a filler arc. They feel like well earned and interesting breaths of fresh air in between big arcs when binge watching the entire series afterward.
I really shoulda mentioned Zanpakuto and the movies I enjoyed haha, but since I binged all of it I cant really relate to that feeling of having to wait. Maybe bleach just needed a dbz kai style remake

I wonder if the fact that i Binged bleach from start to finish effects my bias but the only time i felt slowed down was the bount arc and i loved the ending. other than that i just got annoyed when what i call filler got sprinkled in at key moments.
the first anime wasn't made with Kubo apart of the making of it, he was still making the manga and working on other projects, the manga is amazing all the way through and even in that still the power scaling is not well done at parts but its like that for most if not every show.

People can say what they want to mock bleach, but the fact that bleach has the best drip, character designs, and hotter waifus/husbandos than the other big three can not be questioned. One piece is close but a lot of characters initially look the same.

With what I know from the manga and having watched the original anime, most of the issues past the Soul Society Arc seems to be attributed to the adaptation. Some manga readers even claim the Fullbring Arc being on par with the Soul Society Arc, when in the anime it was close to being the worst one for me.
According to those same manga readers, TYBW is actually an improvement over the manga, most likely because Kubo is directly involved in and overseeing the production of the anime. They are actively cutting and adding scenes to make the show flow more naturally and it works.
yeah I don't doubt that, the production schedule they were trying to work on back then was bound to cause quality issues, and i heard that about TYBW, hopefully they keep making good decisions !

@@XastherReeD To add on to what Marco Milillo has already said, most of Kubo's emotions and foreshadowing is done implicitly through his art and is just lost in translation when the anime adapted everything. The entire Ulquiorra V Ichigo final fight is a master peace in black and white same with Aizen V Ichigo final fight and well Kubo's art. The art in bleach conveys so much more than the actual dialog and well when it got adapted that got lost. Hell the Fullbring arc read more like a short break, return to form and analysis on where Ichigo is atm than the jarring experience it is in the Anime. It is short, sweet and to the point in the manga where in the anime it feels dragged out. BTW the reason TYBW adaptation is so good is because it captures Kubo's art completely and sometimes even exceeds it specifically the Yama and Ichigo fights vs. Yhwach those are just like god damn Kubo put so much into those in the manga but the anime came back and put more into them than it should have been able to.
Bleach is probably the eptiome of "read the manga" as far as Shonen Jump goes
Its not just the filler, the Anime unfortunately does not do a great job of adapting most of the action from the manga. It tris to almost pose by pose recreate it, but without the punch and pacing of something like the Jo Jo anime
The ink work, the composition, and the way it progresses as you flip the page tells the story better
Could be different for the Thousand Year Blood War tho, I haven't watched it yet myself
yeah that seems to be the common connsensus, TYBW has been great though and apparently kubo is working with the staff directly to change things to be better than the manga, there are a few fights/moments that stick out in particular as very well done
We need blood 😫 there are some panels in the manga that literally rips peoples arms like Vasto lorde ripping Uryus arm or Chads arm getting absolutely chredded. Blood and gore is needed to really show the gravity of the situation they are in.

Read the manga... The old anime was an absurd downplay of the manga. The new anime is more close to what the manga vibe, pacing and style was.
I'm on episode 60 of the original series and I finish tybw so far ( I know it's really out of order ) and I'm loving ti so far, the fight betwenn byakuya and ichigo was amazing.

I would like to add it's also the upper managment fault, they did a lot of conflict and changes to the anime that really affected Kubo. Anyway I would say the power difference had a reason. I would compare it to life that some things are just unfair and on order to rise you had to do a lot of efforts and changes to yourself in order for you to rise over others. The fillers are actually ok to me, especially the concepts and characters are pretty unique. Unfortunately some writing and storylines are kinda weak. The Bount was one of my favorites. The characters and their weapons/dolls are pretty unique and very interesting, not to mention a lot of character development from our main group especially more exposure from Chad and Inoue (unfortunately because people usually skip this, most netizens would think that Chad and Inoue are pretty weak). The New Captain arc would had been great if they really did explore the (mysterious) noble side of the soul society, the swords were unique as well, but unfortunately the storylines is the weakest of all filler only arcs in the series. The Zanpakto Unknown Tales and Beast Swords Arc are my number 1 and the best of of filler Arcs. The concept of the soul reapers Zanpakuto materializing and rebel against their masters are one of the best story telling. Not to mention the designs and portrayal of the materialized zanpakto characters are pretty cool and unique as well. Lastly The 13 Court Guard Invading Army was a mix bag for me. The thought of soul reapers disappearing and getting replaced by modified gigai are pretty unique, not to mention those modified gigai can also replicate the soul reapers memories and abilities as well. The concept was great but it felt a bit a remake of the Bount origins story but at least though they did make the story a bit more interesting and a lot of scenes of my favorite characters in the soul society fighting their own selves are pretty fun to watch, just disappointed that some of the side characters on the og gang got kinda pushed aside because of this. So far the fillers were entertaining to me that I stayed and watched the whole series from start to finish, ups and downs. I only stop watching it after it end on 2012. I would say people should still give the fillers some watch time even just once, cause some of them are pretty good, especially the unique concepts and characters that are introduced on each arcs. Not to mention character development from side characters and supporting characters that didn't get explored much in the canon, including some mini fillers that are very funny and had unique storylines added in the mix as well.

You may have felt that way because the arrancar arc was long and drawn out. If you were to watch Bleach completely without any filler and only canon episodes or canon/filler episodes, I'm sure you would enjoy it a lot more. The soul society is great but I think bleach really shines from how progressively better it gets as far as animation, etc. Thst isnt to say that the story is perfect or there arent cheese moments but overall, the series as a whole without filler is solid and worth every moment imo
Yeah arrancar arc is probably what did it for me, I do think the show is solid regardless and I did skip filler but wanted to back and watch movies/zanpakuto rebellion after cause I heard some of them were good

it's a feeling thing for me, I think Ichigo has more depth than people give him credit for, but the writing in Bleach hasn't hit me as hard as some other shows.
@@VirtueCZcams I totally get your point and I think it's the adaptation's fault unfortunately. In the manga the pacing is much better and it ties together the parallels Kubo does on his drawings with the poetry in each volume, makes the story more coherennt overall.
I'd definetely recomemnd reading the manga first. EXCEPT for the final arc, aka TYBW. The anime works directly with Kubo to imrprove the arc, as it was kinda rushed in the manga.
I know that animation, voice acting and music are all great incentives to watch the anime rather than read the manga, but with Bleach the manga really is the better first experience. The pacing, action and details are just far more hard-hitting. The anime is a nice thing to check out to relive your experience... maybe watch some filler for a good laugh (actually Bleach filler is surprisingly decent if you turn your brain off).
that's cool, I just prefer anime as a medium is all, the emotional weight that's added from all those things you mentioned animation/vo/music is worth the wait imho and seeing it in the manga for the first time has never been better for me
@@VirtueCZcams Unfortunately anime has its own trappings and the adaptation is just straight up worse. It doesnt matter what advantages a medium has if it's not delivering the story the way it needs to.
I'm not going to say stuff like you lack imagination or investment if you cant feel the same way about a manga, this is still subjective. I'm only saying that the order would be generally better with reading the manga first.
@@yoursonisold8743 I mean I believe it, I've said a few times around here the production schedule of those times weren't doing them any favors and I could see a lot of the issues in the anime like pacing being fixed in the manga, but I will probably never read a manga FIRST if it has an anime out regardless because it's my preferred medium, and reading the manga usually sullies the experience to a point that it's not worth it for me personally to watch the anime afterwards. I love a good story and manga is a great medium to deliver that but it (typically) misses out on so much emotional impact for me personally that it's hard for me to get behind it.
some people are ignorant as in they think that ichigo has no goal aside from proteccing people. they are so utterly stupid and just send hate to bleach for no good reason. Ichigo's main goal is not to protect other's but to find out the truth about himself and accept himself
I actually think the biggest problem with Bleach is the original anime adaptation. The soundtrack is outstanding, but that aside the anime manufactured the vast majority of criticism levelled at the series.
Yeah, blame it to the old director who made a decision to adding some odd plot/narrative element and characterization changing (reducing Orihime character traits which makes her like have no personality, drop fillers in an ongoing canon arc or half-baked censoring)
It was pretty obvious that they wanted to rush to the soul society arc to me in the anime. That provided a problem since stuff needed from earlier on was ignored to rush to it and when the people incharge realized this they had to try and can the stuff they missed into filler to explain stuff thats gonna happen soon. And once they finished it they still needed to continue but they have been almost hyping it up as the ending they did not fully know how to take the rest. (This was just how I felt some of it was like and probably not true for some things)

I just hate how much hatred Bleach gets for small little things yet Natuto gets a pass (tons of filler that isnt even good, so many retacon, crazy power scaling people loosing their s if Bleach even showed a slight out of bounds power, way worse sideline characters, sweet mudane moments when bleach gets heavily criticized for having them, whatever the hell Boruto is, and recently they annouced Minato is getting his own story animated etc) There are times when I feel a little jealous because Naruto gets so much better treatment and love when Bleach deserves it too. We are finally getting it, finalling getting to the end and most likely CFYOW and Hell arc, itll be so much better then Boruto. I can only hope they treat it with much love and care the way TYBW has been. Kubo needs to give us the rest of the novels not just CFYOW, I want to see Rukias and Renjis wedding 😭 like if Naruto got it then yes we should get it too even a Movie on how Ichigo and Orihime became a thing again considering how much Naruto was allowed to have these moments, the movie with naruto finally acknowledging hinata
yah i can understand that, I think one of the main differences for me between Bleach and Naruto is the lack of consequence. Bleach spent a lot of time hyping up the arrancars/aizen for them (up to this point in the anime) to really be completely inconsequential. The best Naruto villains basically start with their consequence felt or take actions that elevate how you feel about the characters (Pain/Jiraiya). I'm trying to put words to feelings so this might not be completely accurate but it was hard for me to care as much about some of what happened as Bleach went on, the drama/emotion was missing.

For whatever reason Bleach has always been treated very strictly and heavily criticized. I still remember before TYBW people were making videos of how terrible BLEACH was and prop some other manga like Naruto and One Piece, sure it has its flaws but so do the other and should be treated just as fairly.
@@SemekiIzuio It is "just me" lol this is all in my opinion I'm not saying it as fact. I thought kaname's story made sense and was entertaining but it didn't really make me feel anything especially since it was all revealed in a flashback right before he died. Gin is similar but I did feel a little more during that. there just wasn't a lot overall that really drew me in and made me feel stuff post soul society all the way up to fullbringer, which I thought was pretty good.
Or how they throw in that random fucking zanpakuto rebellion arc that LAST FOR TWO FUCKING SEASON when everyone is trying to see the big fight with the Espadas and soul reapers😒

I think they need a re-release of the OG anime, like they did with DB Kai, where they cut out all the fillers including the ones in canon.

Tbf most of the filler comes in large chunks that are sandwiched between arcs that you can skip all at once. There is the odd episode or two at weird spots but it fairly easy to skip 80+% of them.
@@VolticWind sure but they also added some of those filler characters in canon material in the anime, they also dragged many scenes in episodes to add on to the watch time which messed up the pacing of the series especially from the arrancar arc onwards.
@@AizenIPlannedIt yup I remember the pendulum narrator in every episode of the flashbacks with Shini and other Vizards literally took up 5 mins in a what 23min show time run. Also alot of time was used characters in idle with the camera panning and resting 3 sec to long on charcters faces of sweat glares distraught and smirks from Gin and Aizen. In reality it felt like we onky got 17min of watch time with little of anything actually happening.... I hated it even though the flashback story was good.

yep, I think it was a miscue on my part not mentioning fullbringer as I did enjoy that arc quite a bit, but when I say emotion I mean stuff that affected me on a personal level and I think by then my interest/immersion had kinda dwindled

To be honest bleach is not the perfect Anime , FMA is . Bleach is not the best action Anime , AOT is . And bleach does not have the most interesting story , NGE Have . But man oh man Bleach has the best character development , chemistry , and their history .
Zaraki , Yamamoto , Isshin , Aizen , Visords , Urahara and the list goes on .

Without Yu Yu Hakusho, bleach wouldn't be what it is today. In my opinion Bleach is the GOAT of anime, alongside Rurouni Kenshin (which has a modern adaptation release this year.) And ofc many more. Great video nonetheless ✊

hot take, I think the og anime was a shit adaptation for bleach the manga fr 10/10 and not counting filler, the show was 7-8/10 tbh. Although, thousand year blood war was a close to perfect adaptation with its only issue being that it rushes the emotional scenes a bit

Bleach shouldn't be taken seriously. It's basically modern day dragon ball, and it only impresses kids with flashy moves and cool swords.
If you read it with any level of literary analysis, it fails spectacularly in almost every facet of storytelling. Unimaginative, vague, and inconsistent world building, passive protagonist with barely any motive or personality, side characters whose personality and purpose are entirely based on relying on the protagonist, absolutely horrendous power scaling and system, and plot structure that's extremely obvious that Kubo pasted on as the series progressed.
Bleach as an anime makes more sense since a large part of anime is just looking at cool animation and flashy shit, but as a narrative it's not even mid. It's bad.

If you've not watched any one piece I'd say watch up until the arc after the end of marine ford and then you'll truly know if you like the series or love the series.
There's so much heart, smart world building and amazing characters. All the antagonists in one piece make the ones in Bleach look like child's play in terms of character writing probably having the single most beloved and hated villain at the same time in Doflamingo.
The only place one piece lacks is the combat often feels a bit dragged out and the fights are much more about emotional stakes than they are about fight batteling so you won't get mind blowing choreography or anything. People often say it feels like a turn based RPG with the exchange of blows but you won't care cause it's soo juicy and well seasoned with emotion.

@@VirtueCZcams honestly skip the few filler, throw it on double speed, skip recaps openings and endings and any repeated flashbacks (which they love to do cause weekly releases are still a thing for some reason even though season serialisation is far better and has been proven over and over lol) you can really watch 3 episodes in the time it takes to watch 1 dense anime like my hero. Plus one oiece just *flies by* I've watched 30 episodes over 8 hours before lol.

@@VirtueCZcams Nah, it's not. I should have been more clear. Your video seems genuine in that your reception of the material has been pretty positive. I've just been irritated with a lot of people who I used to enjoy seeing their content until it suddenly became a weird trend to hate on it when the series became "cancelled".
Its the anime watchers that dont bother to read the manga. Doesnt go for everyone but those that dont are usually the sheep.
