The Ultimate Transmission for a Flat Fender Jeep with an L134

- I had a broken thread for the shift tower bolt on the T90 in my 1946 CJ2a Two Step. I was going to pull the transmission and repair the hole or replace the case and I decided to do a T18 transmission swap. The T18 is a four speed transmission with granny low which is a popular transmission for trail Jeep that do some rock crawling. I contacted Aaron Holdaway and bought one of his T18 which he converted to mate with an L134. I made the necessary modifications to Two Step installed it and tested it. It will be a great upgrade to Two Step.

Learn a lot in videos like this one you posted. I know it really takes a lot to create this much depth in content. Thanks for all the hard work that would likely have taken you 1/3 the time if you had not chosen to video. So again thanks for the educational tutorial. Have an old CJ5 I’m doing some of the same mods. The only problem is the fenders on mine look strange and not as cool.

Thanks for the good videos, keep ‘‘em coming. I have a rebuilt sm420 w/dana18 teralow sitting on the garage floor, thinking about putting it in my ‘46 2A w/ L head. Now that you’ve been driving with the T18 for a while I’m wondering what your overall impression is?

Fourth gear doesn’t make a difference because it’s 1:1 like third gear on the T90. The only reason I installed it was to have the experience of doing a T18 swap and for the granny low first gear.
where do you get your leaf springs and shackles from ?
On this rig I used Alcan springs and Ryan Miller Shackles.
Where did u get those seal pullers at? I would like to get those.
