    I use my smartphone to hear music with a standard usb type c to 3.5 mm analog adapter. Which is not that great than a 4.4 mm balanced adapter output. We can tweak our phone in many ways as possible. As i use poweramp pro app + wavelet app (kz preset) + kz zst iem (that's under my budget). I always download lossless FLAC audio for listening to music. Currently only few pure FLAC file are out there for download. My favourite artist is Michael Jackson and pop music is my thing.
    I am planning to get a CCA Planar PLA13 iem headphones + 7hz 71 Dac & Amp as an upgrade to what i am using now.
    We all seek for something better than before at affordable price at minimum we can invest.
    Great video and interesting information for everyone.

    Hi-Res to me is like your getting more of the full human sound spectrum (20Hz to 20kHz) from each individual instrument and each person mic up in the music, it sounds more detailed, you can hear more things in the music clearly, like whispers from band members mic up to quieter instruments you didn't even know was there in the music, I understand that Hi-Res has a wider frequency range but our human hearing can't hear all that extra range, only animals and special equipment can detect it but that's okay because I like what Hi-Res did to the rest of the sound we can hear

      Thanks for reaching out. We haven't personally used an Android TV as a source for playing music, so we can't say for sure about its ability to playback Hi-Res files. However, even if it does work, you'll likely need a DAC to decode the Hi-Res files before sending the audio signal to your Onkyo device. Hope this helps!

  • @d_dude_is_here

    Audio Mixing and Mastering at recording source matters much much more than resolution of your track at playback source.
    While if a specific track is mastered and mixed well, Chain matters most when it comes to be able to differentiate between hi-res lossless source vs lossy source of that same track.
    For me the audio chain is an inverted pyramid like structure with ears/room (treated/ untreated) playing the most important part followed by actual transducers followed by amp driving the transducer which is followed by dac followed by transport followed by source. So always try to improve the chain starting from room treatment if using speakers, then comes transducers, then comes amp, then dac and lastly comes source and resolution of tracks.

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Hey there, you present a great point, although bit depth and sampling rates matter when mastering an audio file. 16-bit is fine once the music has been rendered, but it’s not enough to compensate for the final processes of mixing and mastering. So, most engineers use a bit depth of 24 bits or 32 bits, as 32 bits will prevent waveforms from losing any data when they clip, so it is worth it for high-fidelity productions.

    I have Xiaomi Mi11T pro, it has Hi-Res Audio certification. No other audio specifications were mentioned. Streaming through apple music. Do I still need a external dac. Or is it enough what I have in my phone to enjoy hi-res audio.

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  Před 3 měsíci

      While your Xiaomi Mi11T Pro with Hi-Res Audio certification can provide a decent audio experience, incorporating an external DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) can significantly enhance the quality of your music listening experience. External DACs are designed to deliver superior sound quality by reducing noise and distortion, resulting in clean and more accurate audio reproduction. Additionally, they offer better amplification capabilities, allowing you to drive high-impedance headphones or IEMs more effectively. Therefore, if you're seeking the highest quality audio output, investing in an external DAC would be a worthwhile consideration.

    The thing is, gear is way more important than whether you're listening to the highest-quality mp3 or the lossless version. That's because most of the missing information in a decent lossy file is beyond most people's range of hearing. A 320 mp3 sounds better on a good system than a wav or CD sounds on a system that's merely okay. I have experienced this very clearly, very recently. Allocate money to equipment first and foremost. Then, see whether upgrading to lossless copies of your favorite music makes a real difference to you. If you live near a public library with a large CD collection, check out library CDs too. The playback equipment itself is where the vast majority of the audio budget should be spent!

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  Před měsícem

      Absolutely, that's spoken like a true audiophile, and we couldn't agree more! However, we're big proponents of quality audio files. Consider this: if your source isn't up to par, no matter how impressive your setup is, it's limited by the lower quality of the files it's trying to play.

      Hey there, it's great to hear that you're enjoying your setup with the Audicular CX Pro DAC and Apple Music! Having a dedicated DAC can certainly enhance the audio quality of your listening experience. As for your concern about whether your earphones, like the RHA-MA Universal 390 or the VE Bonus IE IEM, can fully replicate the high-resolution information they receive, you're right that there might be some limitations in the final reproduction due to the capabilities of the earphones themselves. However, the quality you're experiencing with your current setup is what truly matters, and aiming for CD-quality audio is a commendable goal. It's all about finding that balance between the capabilities of your gear and the satisfaction you derive from your listening sessions. Keep the music playing.

      Hey there, Absolutely, we're here to help you navigate the audio seas! 🌊🎧 So, lossy vs. lossless, let's dive in: Lossless formats, like FLAC and WAV preserve every sonic detail, while lossy formats, like MP3, compress the file, sacrificing some quality for smaller file sizes. To tell if a file is genuine, stick to trusted sources and consider checking the file's metadata for clues like the source and encoding details. Avoid downloading from sketchy websites - those waters can be treacherous! 🏴‍☠️

But the power output is the biggest difference - 65mW, the Headphone Zone X ddHiFi - Hi-Res DAC has a dedicated amplifier in built, that the Abigail Pro doesn't. Hey there, Apple Music is the easiest way to listen to Hi-Res music. The best way to go about this is to connect a dongle DAC to your phone and use an IEM to listen to the music.

    Hi-res is industry junk... simple science your ears can max do 20khz , Nyquist sampling theorm says double of that is enough to faithfully reproduce the analog in digital format... cd quality = 48khz. Now coming to bit depth (quanization error) 16bit has a SNR of 96db which is enough dynamic range for most of the songs, atleast from the perspective of your ears. All that 'i hear the detail better with higher bit depth' is a placebo effect. And no matter what the artist's original hi res quality was... your ears can only do 40khz (20khz analog) 96db SnR at max. So buy CD quality stuff and some good speakers or headphones and you should be sorted.

      You're wrong. It doesn't matter actually, if you think you're right, you're right it's your ears.
      I found two of my Rory Gallagher files sound rather rough and wondered if it was bad recording. I found out one was mp3 and one a poor flac conversion of only 35 mb in size.
      Needless to say I re- downloaded and converted them using cloudconvert to flac. Sizes now more than 60mb. Now they sound good like the others.

    I have Spotify premium and downloaded Apple music on my Android (Google pixel) device after watching "hi-res music" video.
    But the issue is i can't buy a subscription for apple music, there is no way to add a payment method. By default it's set to "None", You can't change it, for that you need to login from any apple device. BS. 🤦

    Expect better videos from headphone zone. Also covering HiRes Lossless vs lossless in Apple Music. And performance of LDAC with these. Also some visuals explaining technicals in videos can help to understand more. Anyway this was too bland for my liking

    If i Play 140 Kbps Song in Well Tuned Speaker + Amplifier
    It ll b as Good as CD

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hey there! While a well-tuned speaker and amplifier can certainly enhance your listening experience, it's important to note that the quality of the source material matters. A 140 Kbps song, while decent for casual listening, won't quite match the fidelity of a CD, which typically offers much higher bitrates and less compression. Think of it like a high-definition TV vs. a standard-definition one - both can be great, but the source material makes a noticeable difference. So, while your setup can work wonders, consider higher-quality audio files if you're after that CD-like audio nirvana! 📀🎵🔊

    I have heard Sony walkman flagship z series in their flagship store in Dubai, dsd, mqa, and highest possible bit rate and sampling possible connected to their z series iem and their only Japan headphones. I did NOT hear any difference. Maybe the technologies like Dolby Atmos, or sony 360 will matter but increasing bit rate won't. The fraunhofer or lame psychoacoustic models are extremely good to remove the masked frequencies.

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  Před 11 měsíci

      Hey there, there is no debate that a higher bit rate and sampling rate result in increased audio resolution and achieve a corresponding improvement in audio fidelity. At 16 bits, you can only capture up to 96dB of volume, whereas 24-bit samples can go as high as 144 dB.

    I’m confused either to buy Final ZE3000 or Oppo enco buds X2
    Both are similar price range , my only requirement is S-tier Audio Quality
    Or you can recommend me TWS with best audio quality under 15k
    😀👍

      Hey there, getting S-tier audio quality from a TWS is very difficult, especially in that price range. We rather suggest going with a wired IEM like the 1Custom Junior.

    Apple Music is lossless only if transport is an Apple device (iPhone/iPad/MacBook/iMac) even airplay is lossy.
    Android by default resamples everything to either 48k or 96k before sending data to external dac, so if android device is your transport then it hardly matters if your source is a lossy or lossless.
    UAPP could make an android transport lossless but sadly Apple Music support is missing in UAPP.

I think those absolutely deserve lossless . but for the most part all of this modern BS that comes out. I think the Music composition is the issue instead of the quality . in other words a shitty song can be in the most amazing quality ever it's still gonna sound horrible ..
