Life today compared to the 80s truly sucks!
Mick Mars is so underrated and underappreciated. 🤘😎🤙
Robert Slone Amen brother!
Robert, I'd agree. I was never a Crüe fan. Once I heard Sixx's shitty rhyme "red lips, finger tips" the band was off my radar. But then a friend took me to a Feelgood show at the Forum (LA) back in the day. Ended up in my top 5 rock shows of all time. Tommy had a lot to do with it (upside-down cruising through the nose-bleed section!), but I was rather blown away at Mick's skill. I really had no idea he was So Damned Good!
@@GemTones He is definitely tamed by Motleys music but when you see them live, you can see the real Mick Mars. He is a beast.🤘
@Robert I’ve not done the deep dive into Mars’ playing, but I think something that separates him from several of his contemporaries is his affinity for the blues. He’s not just a shredder, he plays with soul. I’m a mediocre hobbyist guitarist, and while I can appreciate the hell out of the talent and precision and dedication to the instrument it takes to shred...gimme a soulful bluesy pitch-bend any day. That’s what hits you in the gut and makes the instrument emotional. It seems Mars found an original way to put that all together. The guy rips.
@@GemTones same here dude and I couldn't have said it better myself. 👍
Mick Mars is a guitar God. The most underrated guitarist that ever lived IMO. The incredible thing about Mick is that he plays rhythm and lead live and does not miss a beat. And his solos... melodic and memorable time and time again.

Takes me back to the best time of my life. I was sixteen when this album came out. I saw the Crue two nights in a row on the Dr. Feelgood tour at The Forum in Los Angeles. The first night they were introduced by my friend Sam Kinison. The next night I went with some friends who picked me up in a white stretch limo and we hung out with Ratt and Mick Mars' family while we watched the show from great balcony seats. Dead Planet Jesus shut the hell up. Look if you want to come here and comment something positive then do so. What’s the point in being a total bum. Dr Feelgood was written about a Virginia doctor who you guessed it sold drugs to Mexicans. I don’t get how that is racist or portraying all Mexicans as drug dealers. Is there such thing as a Mexican drug dealer, of course there is same as their is white dealers, and black ones just because one is being determined as one doesn’t mean the whole race is. There’s levels to it, you can’t just assume everything as racism because it involved other races

Funny and true story: back in the early 2000s I was heavy into punk rock. I was all about wearing leather and spikes and the like. One day I was coming out of my local grocery store and in the foyer where they keep the shopping carts, there was this guy leaning up against the wall, wearing a leather jacket, chains, boots and had this spiky, wild hair. He looked cool as a cucumber and at the time I thought he was a punker. So I asked him, "Are you a punker?!" He had sunglasses on, and he looked at me. He pulled his sunglasses down onto the bridge of his nose and looked at me with his eyebrows raised. I knew those eyes from anywhere and I exclaimed "OMG, you're Nikki Sixx!! Can I shake your hand?" He never said one word to me, but he shook my hand and I will never forget that chance encounter as long as I live.

Dr. Feelgood topped the Billboard 200 chart, making it the band's only album to claim this position as of 2020. It was the first album Mötley Crüe recorded after their quest for sobriety & rehabilitation in 1989. In addition to being Mötley Crüe's best selling album, it is highly regarded by music critics & fans as the band's best studio album. This was also the band's last album to be recorded with lead singer Vince Neil until the 1997 album Generation Swine.
That’s my favorite MC song. It’s on many playlists. I swim to it. I clean house with it. It’s my song ☺️
