Thanks Everyone The fishstalker - Sport
Thank you! I troll for musky and i was on the fence about needing the 15 but I think the 9.9 will do on my rig.
Just got the same kicker, going on my 18’ Crestliner. Thanks for the video. I’m in Idaho, so the boat is still in storage, snowed yesterday! Excited to get it on the boat.
Awesome, your gonna be lovin it, have a great season! Thanks for watching the videos
Got my boat back last week. Waiting for the winds to die down on Folsom to start breaking in my new kicker in. Thanks for the info on your kicker.
Good morning John, this morning it showed 3-4 mph off the dam! I'm definitely thinking about it! Lol thanks for watching the videos
Good information. Thanks for your professionalism. I’m in Michigan and have a new Lund Rebel on order with delivery in March. The 9.9 seemed to be the logical choice for me.
Thank you
Good to see you back out Rob.
Thanks for watching the videos Mark, I usually go once a week just slow , bass was ok last week , dropped off with the weather change, but soon they will all moving shallow!!
Thanks for the great video, I'm looking to put a kicker on my 17 foot strern drive I was saltwater fishing and main drive failed had to get towed in, wasn't fun..
Awesome thanks kindly 💚🤝💚😎
Great video Rob. That's a really nice little kicker.
Thanks, and we appreciate you watching the video too!
Thanks for the video!
Your welcome, and thank you for watching the videos!!
I’m thinking about adding the 9.9EFI as an auxiliary on my bayliner 2452 cabin cruiser when I don’t need to go fast. I’ve been using a 48v trolling motor that gets me 3.5kn top speed at 2400W (3.2hp) or 3.0kn at 2000W. (2.7hp) It’s a 5000lb boat so I don’t expect much. Thanks for your video!
Thanks for watching the videos! Yes it will be an asset and you won't be burning the battery down as you fish or rack hours on your big engine!!
Good stuff! I’m looking into a kicker. Same boat but WT, sales guy telling me to go with 25” shaft but I’m thinking of doing 20” as well but a smaller 8hp or 6 as a troll at 1.3-1.6 mph at most. I’m digging the mods. I’d recommend folding cleats, them bulky fixed ones are known to break rods or trip you as you’re going in and out. I also have onboard alternator charger for crank battery as motor/ power steering and graph uses that particular battery and I swapped it out for deep cycle 27
Cool , thanks for watching the video, yes I'm going to swap the battery tray and try to run a 31 or 27 next got 5 years on the original group 24 right now! 20 inch shaft is actually just right on the boat, 25" is perfect also
@@thefishstalker7640 just go with 2 group 24s.
Great lookin motor 👍🏻
Thanks Ryan!
Nice boat man 👌
Thanks and thanks for watching the videos
Great video - I've been researching a kicker motor for my 18 foot Hewescraft Sportsman. I have been leaning towards this Merc 9.9 Pro Kicker myself. I like how it starts at the motor. Was wondering if this motor can be connected to the main motor to steer it tho. I have seen some ads that say it cannot. Any insight or suggestions on that? Thanks
Thank you, and yea I have ran the fuel line to a tee off the main line and you can link it to the main engines steering linkage with a kit
I have a 2007 still runs like a champ......i had mine mounted on the starboard side but it lean.s Going to move it to the port side how close together can i mount them? My main motor is a 115 Opti on a Triton Walleye 177 glass hull. Thanks
Hi,
I am very glad that I came across your very interesting video. I am planning to install the Kicker motor (the same one) and I have a request, would you be kind enough to give me information on how to connect the fuel line to the main tank from which my 150 HP draws fuel?
Best Regards
I just got a brass fuel line t from the car quest comes in a 3 pack I think it was the 3/8" one I used, thanks for watching
I got this same motor this past feb. Finally been using it. Soon I will need to do the 20hr oil, filter etc change. One thing i am trying to figure out though is how the heck to get the filter past that red wire above it, mine is super tight against it and I will probably have to take whatever that s off just to get a oil wrench around it. Did you experience any issues with this? What exactly is the red wire to? I took the cap off and it looked like it was just covering a nut. My 4 stroke 150 merc dont seem to have it ?
Just wiring off selinoids that operate start and tilt I use pliers type oil filter wrench comes off easy factory installed filter was over tight
Hey thanks for the videos! Love learning from you. I have a 2018 Lowe V hull with a 2.1L 115 merc 4 stroke that needs the 300 hour maintenance kit installed. Would you be able to do something like that? Thanks again
Yep I can, hit me up on messenger, and look up Thefishstalker group on Facebook too, and thanks for watching the videos
@@thefishstalker7640 Hey I sent you a message on messenger and added you on Facebook!
Hi Robert, yes just seen your message, yes I could be available first of next week
Thefishstalker on Facebook is on Carol's phone I'd don't get those messages, look for Rob Cooper on Facebook I'll check on it for you and get you my # , out working until tonight tho
@@thefishstalker7640 Perfect!! Thanks so much man. I'll send you my number on messenger
You don't work on 2 strokes? I would have figured that they are easier to work on.
No unfortunately older outboard's and vehicles aren't made to run on our pump gas that's 10% ethanol, I also don't work on any vehicles older than 2002 due to the inherent constant fuel issues
How well does the autopilot work when using it to steer while running your kicker?
Its amazing, I just make sure that I got it heading in a safe direction and I'm good for landing fish and work on gear! Thanks for watching, I'll be getting more videos out soon
@@thefishstalker7640 Thanks! I'm thinking of doing a similar setup on my Tracker. I was looking at the Garmin autopilot for the kicker, but if I can get the same thing out of the trolling motor, I would rather do that
@@mitchhendrickson4936 yea not impressed with humminbird, definitely go garmin
What oil filter does it take ? I can’t seem to find the specs on it …
