  • Imagine walking into a building and needing to go to the top floor: Taking the stairs might be the healthiest option; however, it could also mean fatigue and a lot of sweat.
Using an elevator can be much easier and faster, especially for people with walking difficulties. Let’s take a step further and up the scale: What would you do if you wanted to get on top of a mountain; take the elevator or take on the climb? You may face this dilemma if you ever go to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in the Hunan Province of China.
This park has the largest elevator in the world. Before going into detail, we can start by answering questions such as "why was the Bailong elevator built" and "what is the significance of Zhangjiajie National Forest."
Recognized as China's first national forest in 1982, Zhangjiajie National Forest is part of a larger region known as the Wulingyuan Scenic area.
Park’s stunning geographic features include pillar-like formations that are believed to have inspired the James Cameron movie Avatar. These monolithic pillars attract massive tourist attention. There is an outdoor lift standing in the middle of these pillars. Made up of glass and steel, the 1,069-feet (326-meter) long lift holds the record for the world’s tallest outdoor elevator. It greatly reduces the time spent and effort made to get on the top. However, the construction of the elevator has caused some controversy regarding the environment and natural fabric of the park.
If you are curious to know more about the construction of this engineering masterpiece and want answers to questions such as "who built the Bailong elevator" and "how is Bailong Elevator constructed," you should definitely watch the video we prepared for you.
You will not only widen your knowledge but also be amazed by the neat balance between the park's natural formations and record-holding constructions.

In USA we do not have money to fix the bridges and potholes, the Chinese spend and build maglev trains, plus these projects and glass bridges just for entertainment and adrenaline boosting.
