To be fair unity had some of the most accurate historical descriptions because it literally pulled it from the source. They went and modeled the entire church from top to bottom with as much details as they could before even starting to put it into the game itself.

@@EVeErSs Yeah, the thing people might overlook is the amount of research that's put into any game beforehand. Take god of war for example, everyone that worked on that game had to get familiar with norse mythology and learn about the gods and even then they mightve learnt about the other pantheons even if it mightve had nothing to do with the game itself. They change the material itself but they learn everything about the source. That's one thing I can respect about the assassins creed games is the research put into it. Almost every assassins creed has had a great deal of research put into it beforehand.

I once walked in the middle of rome with my family and felt a strange feeling that i knew this part of the street. It was because i played assassins creed brotherhood i believe. I told my family to follow me i know where the pantheon 🏛 is. After walking about 300meters we arrived to a big open square and looked simultaneously to the left. There it was the pantheon in full glory. Very nice experience thanks to ac. I had similar experience with galata tower in istanbul and assassins creed revelations. Respect to ac design team 👍🏽

It's technically still ancient though. In the game they refer to the time of the pyramid building as ancient, and that was over 2000 years prior to the setting of the game, so there's just about as much time between the pyramids being built and the game taking place as there is between the game taking place and today. Thus, if the pyramids were ancient for the Egyptians of the Ptolemaic period, then the Ptolemaic period is ancient today. Plus, ancient is often used to refer to anything before the fall of Rome, which during this game the Roman Empire is still in full swing because you're rubbing elbows with Julius Caesar.

    • @3dmaster205

@@MannyBrum Strictly speaking, there is still no Roman Empire; we're still in the days of the Roman Republic; the transition period, it finishes becoming an empire under Augustus, when he becomes what we call Emperor, and although one of his titles was Imperator, this was purely a military title; his title as head of the Roman state was Princeps, aka First Citizen.
The Romans themselves never stop calling their state a Republic, although that requires a good chunk of self-delusion.

It's a shame that I don't enjoy exploring these games anymore (too much repetitivity and the gameplay is way too assisted) or that the level design doesn't give those buildings credit by making them interesting to climb.
Congratulations on the teams working on creating and rendering those settings, they're basically the reason I've played origins more than I would if it was based on gameplay and story only.

You mean ironic or sarcastic?🤔. I think he’s just a little weird around the ladies and just didn’t know to Wright words to say. He looks like he’s good at talking about....architect stuff but not casual social stuff.

Ironic has the same meaning as sarcastic so that's what he meant I think.

The Ancient Egypt setting has an optional "tour" DLC you can download for free. It removes all combat from the game and adds in an egyptologist who talks about the architecture and what it was like to live there.

I don't normally watch a lot of REACT videos, but I would watch an entire series on architects (these architects) reacting to these games. Like, all of 'em. I just finished like my seventh or eighth playthrough of Unity earlier this year, and this makes me want to to back and play it again already just to focus on the architecture (which I wouldn't begin to understand the way they do, but normally I'm so busy free running through Paris that I don't pay devoted attention to how things are structured).
