It was a massive shame how this ended on ITV, Ironically the very last episode had some of the sharpest writing in a long time, It's incredible ITV has no comedy. Lesley Joseph could carry a show no problem.
Yes and the actors bring the characters to life, the set designers create the right ambience, the cameramen capture the action etc. The whole group of professionals involved are what make great TV shows, don't ONLY praise the writing. Also, "writers" doesn't have an apostrophe in the context you used it.

Why did they chose to ignore the fact that Garth had an ex wife and child? In series 8 Garth married a heavily pregnant Kimberly after they reconnected when he came back from France. Garth should have a 20 something year old child that they never mentioned and he never sees.
Yes the stories are messed up. I remember when Chris mum died on bbc series then all of a sudden she came alive for ITV. Also it was a big mistake them killing off Darryl on ITV. They messed up the story line they should of keep all the characters alive instead of messing up the legacy. I still think they can make Darryl alive again for a future episode. Like a one off special where he faked his death for insurance money or some storyline. They cannot leave the last episode without Sharon neither. They need to make atleast one final happy episode with all characters alive.
They’ve made so many mistakes; Dorian’s surname has changed. Her maiden name was Kappa but is now Cohen (which she adopts for her pen name). The woman Marcus left her for was Geraldine, but it changed to something else that I can’t remember here. She previously stated that Melanie Fishman was eight years younger than her, yet in this series they’re meant to have gone to school together.

I think Cohen is Dorien's mother's maiden name - in the episode where Dorien is in court fighting her plagiarism case she makes reference to it. Chris' mother's name seemed to change quite a lot in the original - it went from Abolenaise, to Paula and then to Judith (and then to Appilova in the reboot, where she came back from the dead).
The writers and researchers of this show couldn’t do a decent job of reviving Teletubbies! Garth should be early to mid forties, Dorien’s maiden name has changed about five times, Chris’s Mum died in 1994 but was alive in this series, Garth had a baby in 1998 who’s nowhere to be seen in this one, the woman Marcus had an affair with and left Dorien for changed names in this series, but the worst part of the writing is when Daryl died. Although Tracey had left him and he screwed her over, the character was so in live with him for the early part of the series that I just don’t believe she’d be so cold about hearing the news as the writers made her in this. Plus, to ‘actors’ playing the two sons are so bloody awful and wooden, they should be wiring in World of Quid in real life!
Yes, you’re right. Two in the old one and two in this. The best was Matthew Savage. The first and last couldn’t act for toffee and as the middle one, I just kept waiting for him to burst into ‘Air Hostess’.

She started off young and blinded by love for Darryl, unable to believe he was even involved in crime. She was really clueless in the later episodes. She couldn't always follow the thread of a conversation. Maybe it was a family trait! Will Travis be that daft in a few years, if we keep seeing him in Christmas specials?
I emailed the company that distributes and they had no plans to do so but there's been another since then and there's been a few hints about one proper final episode and or documentary in the last few weeks so fingers crossed

The humour of the reboot is rather like the cast: old, tired, cliched, and dated. Also, when did Garth turn from an intelligent sensible young man into a halfwit?
They are airing the classic run of episodes on Drama currently every weekday at 5:20. For some reason though they seem to have now shown an episode which was S2E3. On Wednesday it was S2 E2 but they jumped to S2 E4 on Friday. Don’t know why but it is odd.
