    That aperature multiplication is only for bokeh comparison, the amount of light hitting the sensor from the sigma is f1.4.

    Strange findings, dxo mark rates the Sony Zeiss 55 as one of the sharpest Sony mount lenses. As well pretty much all other reviewers and review sites.

      Peter it is true, the Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 is one the sharpest lens out there, but Sigma is catching up in terms of sharpness especially with the newer released lenses and the Sigma 56mm contemporary is no exception, having said that, if you watched the whole video you might have seen that - the Zeiss is overall sharper because the Sigma is only sharper in the center the rest of the frame shows softness. Therefore, the Zeiss does better in the Sharpness test.

    Zeiss is not designed for crop sensor, that the why of all this 🙄
