- President Joe Biden is expected to sign an executive action Tuesday that would temporarily shut down the southern border when daily migrant crossings between legal ports of entry exceed 2,500, with the border reopening when the number falls below 1,500, according to three people familiar with the discussions. The impact of the 2,500 figure means that the executive order could go into immediate effect because daily figures are higher than that now.

The border hasn't been 100% secure ever. Not long ago, democrats pushed a bi-partisan bill signed by republicans for border security. This was rejected at the orders of our convicted criminal ex president in order to create more chaos at the border while an election nears. Now biden moves on an executive order as asylum seekers grow.
So it seems, going off of actual events, if a secure border is your concern for the election, you should vote democrat. An interesting turn of events.

Some issues if you read the comments: 1) People from BOTH sides have been upset at the numbers of unvetted migrants/asylum seekers entering our country while "sanctuary cities" are ugly messes. 2) If GOP stalled immigration changes then Biden should've used Executive Orders a long time ago already. 3) Shut the borders down completely NOW so we can catch up with processing the ones already applied... which are stretching out to years. 4) Deport them/make people wait outside US for this processing time, not here while we have to be responsible for feeding, housing, finding them jobs, educating their children, etc. 5) If they give birth in US, their illegal children shouldn't become automatic American citizens. 6) Ban people from China, Venezuela, and other countries who won't take back their own citizens if they don't qualify to stay in US. There is no crisis. A shortage of immigration courts and judges, is the main problem. People coming in greater numbers is another part of the problem. The actual immigration laws were and are fair. But there is this other problem, called global warming, that will cause more immigration than you can shake a stick at.
Laws are the correct lasting way to make change. Executive action is a stop gap used when Trump tells Republicans not to vote for legislation.

They accept edicts through executive orders and fail to act constitutionally. I can’t remember the last executive order that didn’t violate the constitution, can you?
