    Do you have a carpenter ant problem like I do? If so, i'll walk you through how to not only kill the ants you see but, this strategy kills the entire colony of ants.
    In this video I show you how to kill carpenter ants without spraying pesticides in your yard. I have well water so I use a different very low cost strategy to kill carpenter ants. In the video, I use boric acid to kill the ants, I purchased powder boric acid on amazon.com. I have amazon prime, I placed the order and two days later the boric acid was on my front steps.
    If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for watching!

    Mix Borax with white sugar. I mix it 4 parts Borax to one part white sugar. Mix it in a little plastic bag then pour into a small container with some water so it becomes like syrup. Put this where you see the ants traveling and it works wonders.

    The recipes I’ve seen are 4 parts/tbs sugar and 1 part/tbs borax mixed together. You need to mask the taste of the borax or ants won’t eat it.
    I use small water bottles and cut a dime size hole in it so the ants get in and out easily. You can mix it with just enough hot water to dissolve the sugar and borax, asking a syrup and ants will die right away.
    If you add just a small amount of water, it hardens and then the ants bite off small chunks and take it back to the nest. Hopefully it’s fed to the queen.
    Raccoons have gotten into mine so I bring them into the garage at night.
    Then they are easily disposable when ants are gone.

    Need to add water & cotton balls to this to sit into those dishes. When it's wet it attracts them from further away.

    Suger doesnt always attract them. Tbh they rarely have a sweet tooth. Theyre attracted to meat also or something like that so how can we bait them to the acid without making meat traps or sugar ones?

      @TheComebackKid  Před 7 lety +1

      +hollynla I feel your pain, I have tried many different proposed solutions over the years. This is the only solution that has been devastating to carpenter ants in the long term for me. Yes any container will work, such as the lid of a butter tub or something. The powdered boric acid will not damage a plastic container. I'd be interested to hear how it works for you. Remember this solution will take a little time to go into effect but when it does, it's devastating to the carpenter ant colony. Thanks for commenting and watching!

      We did put some honey out with some borax but didn't see much activity on it.. I have seen a few here in my room this year and some outside my door and two queens flying around. I am not sure of the month they invade the house as a army so it may be too early yet. But I would guess the answer is no to your question. I seen a video where they like watermelon so if we get them as an army or even a few we will try it mixed with the borax. They are something else as as we would kill them they would collect their dead on the ones we didn't get picked up quick enough. Very loyal and determined!

      I think it might be right that they like protein. In that case, I’ve read that mixing borax into peanut could work. I haven’t tried it. I have used water/borax/sugar on cotton balls to kill other types of ants. Worked in 3 to 4 days, gotta keep the cotton balls wet. I cut small holes in small plastic containers (like old butter containers) and put the cotton balls inside, then put the lid lack on and a rock over it. That way an animal can’t get into it and get poisoned. If you use this indoors and don’t have animals or kids, you wouldn’t have to go through all the lid and rock deal.

    It’s best to mix it well and also add a little dish soap! Baking soda is a good substitute to include with the sugar, they’ll eat it and it’s like dynamite in their bellies! 😬
    You shouldn’t disturb an ant hill they play an important part in our ecosystem.
    if I just find one indoors, I scoop it up and take it outside. But I make sure to create a barrier of sprinkling Cayenne pepper around the diameter of my home.
    But if it’s an invasion, by all means it mean War 🤪
    They no longer playing by the rules and keeping in nature so I am in my right to protect my home from these pesky invaders!
