I like that you always play in your home ambient, not in a room full of marshals head and gears and so. Your ambient is clear, minimalist and beautiful. Just ypu and the beautiful stratocaster
Dude, you are obviously an incredibly gifted guitar player, but also, you are an incredibly gifted teacher. We almost never find one person who can do both, but man, you do it! Also, you can clearly sing as well, though you don't really emphasize this. The triple whammy!!!
Hi Pilgrim, this is a 'hidden gem' of a tutorial. 'Your Hendrix' goes deep into the musicality. So much to use more widely. Thank you. Nice to see the white 'Strat back...
There are some good (excellent) guitar CZcamsrs out there but the more I watch your videos the more I tend to think you just might be the best. Thank you for putting forth the time and effort. Yours truly, a subscriber. sw P.S, I'm still working on the Little Richard Lucille lesson and trying to sound as "raunchy" as you. Thanks again.
Here's the best part, as a guy who has been strumming for 50 years (I'm 63) - None of this "put your middle finger on the third fret of the top string....".
Thanks for the video.. I’m sure that you already know this but that song was pieced together from several unfinished reels of tapes after his death. Mitch Mitchell had a challenge recording the drums for it in the studio after Jimi died, He especially struggled with hearing Jimi’s vocals knowing that Jimi was already gone
Yet another excellent and informative demo guitar video Thom! Your playing is always over the top amazing! Hope that all is well with you and your family! 👍👍🎸🎸
I’ve been a long time subscriber to your channel sir. If I could jam with anyone I wanted, it would definitely be you Thom. Do you realize how good you really are?!

Paused at 0:08. My first impression: That intonation at the saddles!!!! This should be good. Edit: oh - it's not about a problem guitar. Uh....better get that intonation looked ah....
You never ever hear anyone playing anything like this in a guitar shop... that's because they can't and just play super fast lead which is easy and boring!!!

Its just a green screen.

I like the way you get on with it and play, letting your fingers do the talking. One of the best tutorials on CZcams.
You make it look simple, Sounds Fantastic, What a Groove
One of Hendrix best songs. What a great great video !
Awesome lesson. Simple chords that you can make sound so interesting. Thanks for posting this lesson.

Now I need to know.. whats that sweet tone!

And he has not changed much lately. So... tone is in the fingers.

You are reading my mind (and heart). Such a great tune for guitar
I dig this dude and this channel. Just woke up at 5:00 AM. What a way to start the day. Thanks!
This is soooo great, love it !!!
Man I love your playing, so would Jimi. Thank you...
Man, you really have a figt of teaching
. Whenever I learn from your videos, I feel like I now own the song instead of just learning it.

Brilliant! Adding to the list.
Hey GP you play and illustrate so well. You are smooth. Cheers!
One of my favourite songs
Very nice! Thanks
This is really useful, even though I don't have enormously-long Hendrix-type thumbs. Love your playing and encouraging attitude.
Great guitar playing is all very fine, but it needs to be in a beautiful song too, as proved in this excellent lesson.
I’ve been a long time subscriber to your channel sir. If I could jam with anyone I wanted, it would definitely be you Thom. Do you realize how good you really are?!
Beautiful song. Hendrix very inspired.

The tone is in his fingers and it comes from his heart. You can't buy that in a box.
NextUp....is a afro-wig.. that Hendrix wardrobe and the scarf...

Great video, Jimi Hendrix never disappoints 🎶🙂👌
Thanks for this. Lovely song but really tricky. Maybe because it takes so long to 'resolve' to the E. Never could see it until this vid. Thanks again.
That's the amazing thing about hendrix.. He can play rhythm lead and bass all at the same time..
Guitar Pilgrim,
I just purchased via Amazon - Jimi Hendrix The Complete Scores.

Zayn Malik has a great cover of this song, his voice is perfect to sing the angel
What amp are you using?.
what kind of guitar is that?
half a step down?
Regards,
Jimmy
Always
