Well, that was a lucky shot in the dark, to meet our queen Floor again after just 1 day.
A "small" correction: she IS the present singer of Nightwish. But the pandemic situation hit them too, so no concerts this year. She decided to make some covers, from home. This is her 2nd cover aired yesterday, the 1st one ("Let It Go" from "Frozen") was aired 2 weeks ago.

Thats why Nightwish crew made their own covers ...Crewish , unemployed blacksmiths ... 5 songs , Sleeping Sun. , Wish I Had An Angel. , Amaranth. , Nemo. and Elan.
When its not only the 6 people in the band that are out of work , its the near 50 member crew that set up the gigs that are out of work too .

The only singer alive that I can fathom covering Ann successfully. Check out all of Floors episodes on Beste Zangers 2019. Not rock but great stuff for Floor fans. The episodes with English subtitles are best because you get a lot of backstory to the songs.

As you're starting to understand, Floor is (literally, without exaggeration) one of the best female vocalists in the world. Nightwish is one of the very best bands in the world. There is a very deep rabbit hole waiting for you to explore. Have fun!

Don't worry, she's still with Nightwish. Because of the Corona, their 2020 World Tour is recheduled/postponed. So she has time to do some personal fun. She has done "Alone" a couple times before. This version is a mature and great. I'm a big fan of Heart also and I've seen their versions and the Kennedy Center "Stairway...." They are great too. Wonderful piano by a Dutch master Joost van den Broek. Best of wishes! ⛄👍
She's still the vocalist of Nightwish, plus has a budding solo career after taking part in a TV show in the Netherlands (her home country), and she's doing these covers mostly because there's no touring. She'd be on tour with Nightwish right now.
Her choice of shirt, I think, has meaning for her on several levels. First of all, she has called wolf and dog her "spirit animals" (there's a song called "Wolf & Dog" by her former band ReVamp). She even has them tattooed behind her ears, one on each side. The wolf represents the drive to be adventurous, to go out into the world and explore it; the dog represents the wish to curl up in a comfortable home beside the oven and live a home and family life.
The "cause I'm not afraid anymore" part might refer to the aftermath of the severe burnout she had in 2010/2011 before joining Nightwish, when, after her first band After Forever had split up in 2009, she was building up her new band ReVamp from the ground and doing everything, from recording and rehearsing to songwriting to management and art direction and bookkeeping, all the while working and teaching singing to support herself, and she overreached herself. Or it might refer to her being an outsider and bullied kid at school who found her redemption in singing in school plays and wowing people from the stage-an experience she has said cinched her future career for her. And you have to agree she's quite good at howling and roaring. :)

That my man, is the most powerful and expressive female voice on the planet today. I honestly don't believe there's another who can come close to doing what she can do. It's no wonder she's called the Goddess of Metal.
Floor becomes the song, whatever it is. As good as her vocal skill is, her interpretive skills are even better.

Yes, a lot of us teared up too. What can one say that hasn't been said? She is the only pop/rock/metal singer who can pass for an opera diva, and the only person singing opera who can belt out metal vocals. She really seems to be superhuman. Great reaction!
Floor actually did a cover of this song some 15 years ago (when Floor was in her twenties) together with her band "After Forever" - if you listen to that version (that Ann also rated as one if not the best cover) and this last version, you'll recognize the voice, although more mature, and Floor is a mother too now!
You might also like to check "How's the Heart" from Nightwish latest album in its the acoustic version performed by Floor and Troy (NW's multi-instrumentalist and singer) for Planet Rock.
not solo but all Nightwish members have other music projects on the side. according to the plan Nightwish should have been on tour right now. but due to covid its prosponed. ( you know she growls / does extreem singing to )

But, for Nightwish let's move on to REACTICIDE which is reacting to Romanticide and I suggest you live version from Wacken 2013. Because I think as a old school metal fan that will open the gate of another level of epicness for you, story telling combined with HEAVY metal ! She was afraid performing with Nightwish the 1st time. It was right after she had recovered from a burnout. A month or two earlier she would have said NO to the Nightwish proposal. And she had practically no time to prepare herself for the first concert. She told the audience she doesn't know how it's going to go.
Three years later back in Seattle she told the audience the last time she almost shit her pants and thanked the audience for support way back then.
She also thanked her Nightwish brothers for the best three and a half years of her life.

She is the frontwoman of Nightwish. What happens is they haven’t toured because of the pandemic with this year’s album Human:||:Nature. This is Floor Jansen keeping busy and engaging the fan base. On piano you will find Joost van der Broek who is the former keyboard player of a band she was in called After Forever.

Ann Wison was a big influence on Floor. Floor is still a part of Nightwish. However while this covid thing is going on Floor is stretching her wings a little. We are all looking forward to a solo record from Floor. It will be a little while yet. She is just starting to develop some song ideas. She has been releasing cover songs for all of us during this shut down. Floor is anxious to get back on tour to perform for all of us. Their tour was supposed to start last February. I too am an older man who grew up in the 70's and 80's and have just discovered the amazing music of Nightwish and the Dutch queen of symphonic metal. About 14 months ago and am totally hooked. I am going to check out your other Nightwish reaction my friend. Follow the suggestions of my Romanian friend Gabriel Bardac below for future reactions and general info on Nightwish. Of course that is not her intention. It's just a fact of life. She is by far the best singer ever produced by mankind. And it is not just the voice. It is a combination of voice, emotion, looks, gestures, moves. It is communication on a totally different level.... It literally enriches my life.
Our dearest diamond Floor. Came to Earth from another universe, to blow our minds with the boys from Nightwish, then came Corona, and started a series of covers, to help us all through these crazy times. This woman is the real deal. A true born vocal healer at the highest level possible.

Her cover of Shallow is pretty awesome when you get around to that =) There's something to the comparison I've heard of her and Freddie Mercury, and it spans to Nightwish in GLS has that Bohemian Rhapsody kind of epicness that world is missing these days (at least in the states.) Floor asked what she should cover next and my oh my I hope she covers Who wants to live Forever.

Bro...definitely check out all Nightwish material. Floor Jansen is so rewarding to be a fan of. You will love everything she is involved into. The same can be said for Tuomas of Nightwish as a song writer. He is amazing. That being said, afterwards, you must be introduced to Epica also. It is another band of the symphonic metal genre.

She's not just a great singer technically, she has the ability to fill her songs with emotion and project it like nobody else. That's what's so incredibly amazing about her, to me.

According to Tuomas Holopainen, the head of Nightwish, they will disband once Floor Jansen decides to leave. "That will never happen", Floor responded...period. So we need to get used to the thought that they will share the stage as long as they continue as professional musicians.

I've always loved the power ballad Alone by Heart! Amazing band and Ann Wilson is a powerful singer! I agree, only someone like Floor Jansen could come close to Ann Wilson! Wow, there's so much more Floor to discover. Floor with Nightwish, Floor with After Forever, Floor with Ayreon, Floor with ReVamp, Floor solo. There's enough material to keep you going for a long time. I sugest How's The Heart the acoustic version. It's one of their recent songs and absolutely briljant.
And this is sitting down. It's hard to inflate the lungs fully when seated. She's very much still with Nightwish. She just has side projects going on between NW tours because she is in such high demand as the widely accepted greatest living singer in the world today. While the world is on COVID hiatus with all tours cancelled she is entertaining her fans by doing things like this at home on her farm in Sweden when she's not out driving in fence posts with a 20 lb sledgehammer for her horse paddock! Not kidding. Look at the beautiful muscle definition in those arms! They match the power and strength of her lungs.
Floor is ridiculous when it comes to singing. One of my faves along with epicas,within Temptation and Evanescence singers. Her range is just nuts tho.
She's still Nightwish ;) Tour dates out now for US and Europe 2021. If the panemic allows concerts... But she is unbelievable, fantastic and from another world.

I reacted to ghost love score first and then I saw this and I liked you and how you did the ghost love score reaction but you completely won me over with this one! And by the way floor does stuff by herself all the time but she's not a solo artist she's still with Nightwish she just has some side projects just like Marco.... She is a vocal beast and the best part about her is how humble she is I mean she definitely knows how good she is but she never stops working hard she is the professional athlete that is never convinced that she is at the top of her game and that is something that is just amazing she has an incredible work ethic...and I remember reading somewhere because floor has done this song actually two other times she did it with her older band called revamp and she did it on a cruise ship with Nightwish it was like an acoustic set but anyway I remember also reading that and Wilson has seen and heard floor do this before and she was pretty much blown away that's coming out of the queen herself I grew up a huge fan of heart and and and Nancy,.... But it's also amazing that floor wasn't even well known in her own country for a while and the United States doesn't hardly know anything about her I have a feeling after this cover and the cover she just did of let It go I think a couple more people will know who floor Jansen really is

Funny Story from you. 2017 was a sabbatical year at Nightwish because Floor gave birth to their daughter. Various solo projects by the band members emerged. Floor recorded the hard rock album Northward. The distance to the microphone has nothing to do with her voice, but with the design of the microphone. If she were to use this mic on stage, there would be feedback. There you take microphones that only record at a short distance so as not to record the speakers.

I just subscribed. I'm in the Big Easy. Fell down the Nightwish / Floor Jansen rabbit hole a few months ago. Still haven't seen everything but Floor can sing anything she damn well pleases - from Shallow to Phantom of the Opera and actual opera. She released a cover of Let it Go a few days ago - parents who are tired of hearing their kids play the Disney version over and over again are loving it.

Wonderful! As the song is only released this weekend there aren't many reactions to it yet, but so far everyone is tearing up or getting glassy eyes. That's how the emotion is felt and that's what I love so much of Floor besides her incredible vocal capabilities and inside and out beauty.

I discovered a 19 year old singer recently who is hands down, one of the BEST singers to cover 80s hair bands I have EVER heard...period. Check out Moriah Formica doing Steelheart "Never Let You Go."
❤ Lol... Just to let you know, brother, but you probably already know. Heart's most recent album came out in 2016 and went gold. Also... Heart did a sold out arena tour, in 2019, and it was phenomenal. We seen that tour in Denver and Ann still rocked the house at 69 years-old. This cover of Alone is absolutely beautiful. Celine Dion's and Carrie Underwood's covers pale in comparison. Floor is still with Nightwish and they're coming to the states next year. We got our tickets for their October 2021 New York show.🤘🤘🤘
Floor is not a solo artist. Tuomas said in an interview that if Floor would quit that would be the end of Nightwish. Floor is however doing solo activities. Especially in the Nehterlands where she really made a name for herself last year in the Beste Zangers show. She also does colabs with other great metal bands (mainly from the Netherlands) like Ayreon (an Arjen Anthony Lucassen project where she sometimes sings with her sister Irene - two Jansens for the price of one), Epica, Delain etc. She even did a performance with Tarja (ex Nightwish).

Another band you should check out is Sabaton. Floor's husband is the drummer in this awesome band. They sing about historical wars, and they rock!

Floor is very active on the social media and just to keep her voice in shape - and to spoil her loyal fans, she releases covers of different songs, teasing us to guess what she is coming up with next.
As the others already have mentioned - Beste Zangers from 2019, is another side of Floor, where she concurred her own County (she was unknown - but that changed radically, with 10 extra shows, music price...).
And still - Floor is only one of the 6 musicians in Nightwish - they have 3 awesome singers..... Floor, Marco and Troy - so you are in for the ride of your life 😉
Fact: In Beste Zangers, Floor made the studio cry their hearts more than once on live TV - so don't be surprised that she hit you. Her emotional abilities through her voice and body are - - - you will experience youself, better that way👍🤘🤘😉

Yessir, Nightwish is Heart incarnate as symphonic metal. As I've said many times on many other channels, Nightwish may not ever become your favorite band, or even the most technically proficient. But by god they are the most important!
About the shirt. Floor actually was pretty depressed before joining Nightwish, like to the point where she wasn't just about to quit her band, she was about to stop her singing career and just do something else instead. Then Tuomas and Marco and Jukka and Emppu and Troy came along, and...well, you see the result. She's fond of saying that she gained five brothers that day.
The point being, just as your tag suggests, it's never too late and anyone can start from anywhere.
It's that feeling one has, when you have just heard the best female voice on the planet. Floor brings that same emotion to every song she sings, with the amazing Nightwish....
All the respect in the world to Ann Wilson, but this is NEXT LEVEL!
