Nice! The systems quality of the Mirage following its updates and now seemingly the F-15E has been a major lift for Razbam I think. This sure would come in handy for a 2000D as well, but I didn't say that. Looking forward to the Eagle and MiG-23 :)
@@Zoddom Yeah getting the 2000-5 would be great... Either an update, or a new module, I don't care ^^ Just being able to use Fox 3 on Mirage would be an improvement
Thanks for sharing the progress on the strike eagle's development. Great to see a little bit of how it is evolving. I guess it's pretty cool to keep expectations about release date realistic too. I have and like the harrier a lot, so this is first day purchase for sure.
This is more scarier czcams.com/video/fLjOcpsrLsI/video.html One of the things that DCS players don't really do, is flying as a wing. Most players are just soloing alone, they need to do everything in the cockpit, and they don't need to care about anything else than themselves, so they can be zig-zagging around the map by any means they like, and I would argue that most who even think they have a good situational awareness, don't have it at all (because first of all, the DCS World doesn't even allow to simulate a realistic military scenarios where you have thousands of units all over the places, secondly because DCS World doesn't even have a proper prebriefing and briefing cases and dynamic & reactive AI by limitation of their intelligence and questimation). And anyways most have all the targeting pods (that perform in unrealistic capabilities), they have perfect JTAC units, a very simple and clean battlefield (so they can beam lasers to unrealistic 8 nm range) with so many other benefits that they wouldn't otherwise have. So going to strike mission as a wing, you really would be focusing to formation flying more than anything else really, unless you are the lead, when you are focusing to level flying to keep the formation easy. When the DCS World was released with Su-25T, one of my favorites to do was to fly at mid-night, at the winter, in heavy snow, below 500 meters for 100-150 km strike missions. That was about 60-90 minutes doing anything else than staring the instruments guiding the flightplan and then when getting close to target, try to recognize the target in some form lit area or use illumination rockets that AI wingman shot for you (at the time you couldn't have AI as a lead) and then find the target and hit it in first pass and get back home, flying literally blind back. And then in the final 10 minutes to concentrate to get to landing and land on airfield as its lights became visible only about under 100 meters and 500 meters from field.
THAT is cool. Is it safe to assume that this feature was more-or-less inspired by the F-111’s terrain-following abilities? Considering the F-15E replaced the F-111.
TSR was no avro arrow. It was shaping up to not be as good as they designed it to be, rising costs, equivalent aircraft being developed in congruence, all convinced the govt to scrap the program
@James Peebles i wouldn't say the Strike Eagle's TFR was inspired by a plane that never was deployed with any service and got scrapped more than 20years before Strike Eagle's first flight, specially when considering the plane the Strike Eagle did replace had the same capabilities and was one of the earlier birds in actual numbers / actively deployed.. So i'd rather say it was a simple requirement for the planned mission profile rather than inspiration.. And if it was inspiration, it surely would be inspired more by F-111, Panavia Tornado or SU-24 and the likes - planes that actually seen service (and deployment).
I'd like to think that when this releases, that a lot the systems of it can be simplified to make an F-111B/C module if there isn't already one in the works somewhere in the ether that is the ED dev cycle
You just got a new customer. A modern 2 seater bomb truck with decent avionics, long legs, high TWR and it has A Terrain following radar? I wanted the aardvark and get something better it seems.
It will most certainly have a new sound track they will for sure not use the low quality f-15C. The f-15E is a lot more complicated and got slightly different sounds so I’m expecting the new audio. Plus it’s probs gonna be 75 euro so I’m expecting it
Nice to see that the system is leaving some courtesy space underneath the plane for a couple of flights of Viggens. =) Joking aside, this looks quite neat! Not entirely sure how to read the terrain following output though, it kind looks like it's flipped horizontally? Like at 1:24 there's a hill on the left, while the pod shows what looks to me like higher stuff on the right. EDIT: Yeah no idea how to read the output, later on that explanation doesn't fly at all.
The screen is essentially a B-Scope of what the NavPod radar is seeing. The lines are different elevations as the approach the A/C. On the right are the ones far away, and as the move closer left the closer they get to the A/C
5:50 you see the wall coming from right to left as it comes closer. Think of it like a vertical scan mode and you see the radar cake slice from the side with you on the left. Hope that makes sense
@Antares @lucky_luke Aaah, so it's showing a side-scrolling shmup view, going left to right, gotcha! So is left/right navigation just based on waypoints then, it's not trying to find the route in any specific way laterally?
@@jubuttib terrain radars show a side view, and typically only scan vertically. At the top of the scope here it seems to be doing limited lateral scanning, but that's just for looking for obstacles and terrain change
@@jubuttib i'm not familiar with Mirage symbology, but looking closely I'm seeing crosses presumably marking waypoints, and distance to go on the right side. It's just following a course of waypoints as stated at the start of the video

I am on the same boat! At current prices, I need to prioritize. The F-15 and BOTH F-4s take precedence, so I’m passing on the F-1. If they would make them cheaper, I’d buy all.
@@RafaPolit I will rely on future sales to help me out. I do realize the F-1 will be including several different models and it is more fleshed out that a typical ED module at the early release, so I am not complaining about the price. It's so many modules are getting released so quickly (not a complaint) but I am saving up to buy a better HOTAS this X-mas. So - limited budget = much pain in the wallet.
Looks like a modernized version of the F-111 TFR presentation. Where is the plane in the profile presentation of the terrain ? Directly in the middle or toward the left side of the scope?
