I have a friend who had an extremely large chest. She was constantly in pain. Her fiance was overjoyed when she said she wanted a reduction. He didn't want to tell her to get one in case she didn't want one but as soon as she mentioned it, he told her he's been hoping she'd want one because of how much pain she was in and he didn't want her to be in pain constantly. He took her to her appointment and cared for her after. She's so much happier now
My mom always wanted one, too, though could never afford one. She also had a very large chest.

Can I ask to get either a reduction or removal just so I can breathe at night or am I just being childish? I struggle to get to sleep because of the weight on my chest and that's with me trying to sleep on my side. It was bad enough when I was bleeding as well but I've spent nearly a further decade with this being the solo struggle but I'm a girl so I just have to lump it, yes? I know I can't ask to not be disabled but I understand breathing is quite a bit more important to survival.
Also the nausea I keep forgetting it causes doesn't help.

My religious school runed by nuns used to enforce a similar idea that I found even worse.

The quote is from a US sit com, and the character was constantly spouting uninformed opinions, and yet convinced that he was smarter than everyone else. He was a farmer who was raised in a strict religious household who hadn’t had comprehensive sex education beyond raising animals.
The writers were making fun of people who say things like that, not proposing it as a valid point. It was a very funny line that definitely fit the character’s world view.
AFAB NB here. I'm up to my third year now of chronic pain that might be endometriosis. I struggle to walk most days. My doctors refuse to sign it as a disability, and refuse to let me get the hysterectomy that I really want and need. Because I'm in my mid twenties and "it can't be that bad." Hun, I rated my appendicitis as a seven out of ten on your stupid pain scale. This constant pain is a six, and goes up to eight when I move, then we knock it out of the park when a period comes.
Doctors need to get a grip and trust that maybe uteruses can cause issues.
Myself and my oldest son ( AFAB trans masc) are hoping that the chronic abdominal pain and awful periods he is suffering from are caused by endometriosis and can have a hysterectomy and not have to wait until gender reaffirming surgery.
@@lynn69jackson Heads up for this, I'm in Australia, and am struggling despite our very decent medical system. So whenever you are, I'd reccomend trying to get in to see all the doctors ASAP! If the ultrasound and blood tests don't show anything up, you can get a laparoscopic surgery for them to put a camera in to have a look and grab some samples for a diagnosis. Sooner you get that diagnosis, sooner you can shop around for find a doctor who will get you to a surgeon.

I'm so sorry you're being treated that way. That's awful. Have you tried going to a different doctor in your network, or asking for a new primary care Dr. or new OBGYN? Some of them are just awful when it comes to really listening and taking symptoms seriously, but some of them are much more compassionate and understanding and do take the time to get a full history and will believe you. I too have chronic pain that was suspected to be endometriosis, and I had several doctors write off my pain as bad periods, or just IBS related to anxiety (was literally prescribed therapy as a fix for the chronic pain, despite already being in therapy, on multiple occasions because they thought the pain must all be psychosomatic) but my last OBGYN was absolutely wonderful and immediately agreed to perform a hysterectomy if I wanted her to (and that was in my early twenties too!). Sometimes it takes seeing a few different doctors before you find one who really is a good fit and is willing to take the time to help you, unfortunately. Most Doctors have reviews online now, so you might potentially even be able to look up potential care providers in advance and request one that other people have had good experiences with. Also, a little tip I learned about for if your doctor is refusing to order something helpful, like testing, meds, or exploratory surgery to diagnose endometriosis, etc make sure that you ask them to document it in your medical chart that they are refusing to order it. I truly hope that you get the care and treatment that you need soon, without having to jump through a bunch of hoops! Healthcare can be a real headache, but you so deserve to be taken seriously and find relief from your condition (s) and receive help if you're unable to work and function. @@Behold_I_am_Egg I second that. Get a better doctor and get a second opinion. Any doctor who won't listen to their patient's concerns is a major red flag. A lot of patients don't realize they're allowed to ask questions, to refuse a treatment they don't want, and to look for a better doctor.

crazy ass idea *just in case* it could be helpful to you: my aunt who had a hysterectomy for anti-cancer purposes had to fight her dr for it too, even as a married, past-baby-having age person. She said the dr made her get her husbands permission to have it done. It's all absolute bullshit, but if you can't make any progress elsewhere, ~~maybe legally marry a man friend long enough for them to go to the drs with you and vouch for you, like "yes, my dear spouse won't be needing that, please remove it posthaste".~~ maybe! wild thing to do, & not free to get married by the courts (in the US anyways), but a potential avenue in case nothing else works.

Not-so-fun fact from someone who had their endometriosis dismissed as "all in your head" by a pain specialist literally reading the surgery report with photographs of how much tissue was removed: it's recently been discovered it's not related to your chromosomes or if you have a uterus. If their estrogen levels are high enough and they lost the genetic lottery, anyone can start growing endometrial lining in their abdominal cavity. Most cis guys need liver damage to get estrogen that high, but it's hormones, so some people are just born naturally doomed.

Yup. My endometriosis was dismissed by multiple doctors, all men. One even told me "you're a redhead, your kind are just naturally weaker when it comes to pain tolerance".
@@WobblesandBean The doctor mangled the redgead thing, but it is true that natural redheads and most natural blondes have a gene that means we perceive pain a bit differently AND we go thru anesthesia like crazy. The latter is why the belief, pre-human genome project, came about that we have a really low pain tolerance: we often need 3-4 times (or more!) the anesthesia to stay numb during local procedures. But if we get the right anesthesia, it turns out that in general, we have a higher pain tolerance than other hair colors. 🤷🏼♀️

There was an actual study that measured a whole age range around 20-60, women usually chose a man partner close to their age, while men always chose a 20-something year old woman, no matter their own age. They're certainly being reinforced the idea of expiry date or misogynist ideals. Ageist hype for women is really what's going on in the media and marketing anyway and even the workforce. It's depressing.
The worst are the men who act like they _should_ be attracted to much younger women because of studies like this. They see it as a prescription, rather than a description, because they don't recognize that society has conditioned them to feel this way. Never mind they don't apply the same standards to themselves.
I'm curious how much of that study was performative vs. their actual observable life choices?
I've seen plenty of age gap relationships, and they weren't all based on older men abusing patriarchal privilege.

My high school a couple minuets before the sex ed lesson decided that they were not going to split the boys and girls so we all learned about men and women's bodies together.
I totally wish we could all do that. I mean, there will be embarrassment and laughter, but even having boys and girls together for an hour or two so they learn anatomy would be good. Plus, trans kids will learn about what they're interested in without being forced into a class that doesn't match their gender.
Lucky, our class was mixed but we all sat through the "boy puberty" video and the teacher rushed to turn it off before it reached the point of "girl puberty" because it 'would make the boys uncomfortable' so none of us got to learn about periods or the menstrual cycle.

When my son was around 11, they had the "your body is changing" talk at school. He came home very confused and scared. As a single mom, i wasn't sure how to reassure him. So i said the best thing i could, " would you like to talk to Grandpa?". Son and grandpa had a nice long talk about male puberty and son's fears were relieved
I would like to give all man-bodied people, who think breast reductions are unnecessary, a pair of G cups (which isn't even that large) to wear for a week. Also, for every man who has ever had a pen leak in their pocket, and been forced to send their secretary to find them a new shirt before an important meeting, and who thinks women can't take a bathroom break during work hours: Imagine that happen, only instead of ink, it's blood, from your crotch region, and there's a lot more of it.
I have my period with passion. I'm in my 40s now, and they've calmed down from the early times, but I never forget when I was on a business course and my pad just completely failed to function while I sat on a upholstered chair, during class. I felt the blood seep up my back against the backrest. I stayed motionless until we had a lunch break, and I rushed to the bathroom. My jeans were black, but soaked with blood, but somehow, my shirt was okay. I did what I could, disposed of the evidence by moving the chair, and felt mortified all day.
Carrying a woman's baggage around? Hardly a novel experience.

Oh god I just had flashbacks to an exam day in my early teens where I wasn't prepared for my period and I was bleeding on a chair during an entire history exam, and then I didn't have time for a bathroom break so I had to keep sitting in blood (thank GOD I was wearing black pants)

When they taught my class about periods (...about 12-15 years ago?) they explained the very scientific stuff and left it at that. I had NO CLUE how to use a tampon. It would be years before I found out, after reading a book I checked out at the public library. ONLY THEN. Sorry, I guess I was just supposed to know??
Even in high school health class they didn't discuss how tampons worked. Everyone just said "it shouldn't be painful" and there I was "are you SURE??" .... after talking with a gynecologist, it turns out tampons weren't a great option for me! Thankfully I can avoid periods for the most part, since T took them away. Life is much better like this.

I had the same experience. I thought you were supposed to shove the whole plastic thing up there and when I sat down I would sob in pain. Went to the nurse crying and that’s when I found out that’s not how they work. I was horribly embarrassed and mortified. Our sex ed is shit and I believe they do it on purpose.

I'm almost 30 and I feel more beautiful right now than I ever did under 25. Every time I get compliments, especially from younger women or obviously body conscious individuals, I tell them it's the confidence. I only look as beautiful as I feel because of confidence.

At 13, I went with 2 guys in their early 20s (family friends) to pick up one of their gfs. She had just started her period and asked her bf to pick up some sanitary products on the way. They left me in the car and didn't tell me what we stopped at a convenience store for until after. Then, they started asking questions about the difference between pads and tampons. I was 13 and hella awkward, so I just said, "One goes inside, and one is used outside." Their response, "Of her underwear?" These were 2 adult, sexually active men 🙄 decades later and I still can't even.

This is one of the things that's so utterly ridiculous when they claim women lose their looks shortly after 25/30 yrs old, they don't even know what the average 25/30 yr old woman looks like when it comes to ageing so they just assume any woman they find attractive must be under 30
I used to work as an aide on a Gastrointestinal floor in a hospital. Many of our patients would have had laparoscopic abdominal surgeries. The surgeon fills up the abdominal cavity with an inert gas to make room for the surgical instruments and to be able to to see the surgery site. There is only 2 ways for the gas to leave abdominal cavity, up or down. When the patient would fart or belch, they would always apologize. I'd tell them that it was a good sign that their digestive track was coming back to life.
When i was taking care of my mom before she passed away( she was 90, nearly blind, multiple strokes) whenever she would pass gas when i was putting her in the commode, we both would say " salute to the queen" and laugh

4:59 THIS!!!!! I was AFAB and still very much look it. It took TWELVE YEARS after I started having painful and terrifying symptoms for them to diagnose me with MS. One medical professional told me I was collapsing because I broke up with my ex. We were together for three months. I’d collapsed *multiple times* before I’d even met them.
Also, the amount of times I was told it was *just anxiety* makes me wanna go a little berserk. If they had listened to me, I wouldn’t be disabled at age 27.

Periods can be so so very unreliable and people need to realize this sooner. When I was maybe 12, I was going to camp in a few weeks. The week before, my period started. I was relieved that I wouldn't have my period at camp. The very next day, it stopped. Nothing happened the rest of the week. The first morning at camp, I woke up in a puddle of blood. The d*mn period decided, nah, I'm gonna wait until you're at camp with no pads to start. I had to sleep on a towel covered mattress the rest of the week because the bed sheets I brought were ruined and there was no washer/dryer.
Yep, erratic periods are awful. I once had one for an entire month on and off, one of the worst months of my life. Sometimes it only waits 2 weeks, once it was almost a month late (so almost 2 months between the first proper period). It depends on the person, i envy those with regular periods
My period once decided to skip a month, I was worried about it because I had never been taught that, sometimes, periods are just a bit quirky with their timing
when younger its not uncommon for it to be unpredictable.. if older and missing months of periods then there's an issue/ or constant bleeding.. normally some have it like clockwork others it shifts a few days either direction. ya not enough is taught.. I learned a lot bc I suspected I had pcos and also eventually diagnosed w it. learned as an adult. still aways something new to learn about biology.
my younger days it could be missing more than being reg... I loved swimming thankfully didn't miss too many days= embarrassing.
its best to teach kids young ( kids as young as 7 can hit puberty) so having pads around JIC for them or their friends would be a good idea. i keep some in our car all the time jic.
if too erratic there's a problem.. also if you go too many months w out periods it can lead to cancer. I have pcos and have had every kind of period reg/ daily bleeding/ no bleeding cycles months at a time. IN our hs sex ed class.. it was all about too easy for teens to get pregant... oddly enough everyone in my circle of friends had trouble conceiving.@@AnEmu404

So the condition phimosis, where your foreskin will not retract fully, is usually just treated with circumcision--no foreskin, no problem. Otherwise you have a higher risk of infection and sex can be painful.
However, in Tokyo there is a clinic that specializes in curing phimosis while leaving you with a foreskin, because being circumcised is so uncommon in Japan that this is desirable. They have TV commercials and they are hilarious.
The US is kinda "hack-it-off"-crazy, due to the influence of sex-hating christians who promoted infant circumcision 120 years ago in order to, "prevent masturbation." by the 1950s it had become so routine and so entrenched, all sorts of medical excuses were made to make it seem good to hack off a length of shaft skin.
As for phimosis, the actual problem is the "rigid band" that normally keeps the foreskin closed. It becomes inelastic and/or is too short. So why not just remove that band instead of hacking off the entire foreskin? Again, it comes back to normalizing a body modification that was started over 100 years ago to force extremist anti-sex christian beliefs onto male bodies.

This is why when my 11 year old asked questions about sex ed I found medically accurate information to give her, specifically consent first. In no way am I saying that she should do anything in that area for many years, I told her the accurate information so she will know the facts and consent is one of the most important things to teach. Knowing how to say yes or no, when to say yes or no and that a yes or no can be given or rescinded at anytime can save your life and sanity.
Providing information is not the same as encouraging/"promoting" someone to do something. And I think we need to repeat this loudly and often.
@@John_Weiss that's my thoughts on this. I don't want to act on or need to act on this information for several years, I don't want her to be 15 and pregnant either. Having the appropriate information doesn't mean do it, only don't follow bad advice. If you give kids the real information without judgement or bias then they come to you later when they need help.
early sex ed .. even preschool grade school is found to have kids delay sex till older.. its the obstinance only sex ed producing the most teen parents.
they have higher self esteem, and less of a target for pedos.. if you use proper terms, teach consent the kid is likely to talk unlike an ignorant one. the Netherlands starts kids at kindergarten. I also know of someone who had consensual sex at 8 w another kid around her age. we took a class w a sexpert that was speaking to parents how to talk to them about sex and it starts when they are very young...age appropriate head n shoulders knees n toes etc.

I have a lot of insecurities about wearing pads. I cant use tampons because of vaginismus. I do feel childish wearing one. I feel like a lot of girls growing up are taught that pads are like a "starter" thing and you're supposed to mature into using tampons. It's all very silly, but I do still hold insecurities about it.
Please don't feel insecure about pads. I started having periods at the age of 10 and I am almost 52 (they are winding down and hopefully will be done soon), but in all that time I have MAYBE used 7-10 tampons. They are weird and don't fit/feel right. There are so many people who wear exclusively pads, you are not alone!!! When my mom was growing up and what I was taught was that tampons were utilitarian and for very specific purposes-think sports and stuff, and that not everyone or even mostly everyone used them exclusively. It is perfectly fine to like them and feel more comfortable using an internal capture method, but that also means that it is perfectly fine to feel more comfortable using exclusively pads/period underwear.
So, from this old lady who has been using them for years.... don't feel bad about using what is most comfortable for you. No one else gets to judge until they have spent a week in your......um.......shoes, we'll go with shoes 😊

Tampons were off-limits at home for me - I was usually wearing pads. Pads are semi-uncomfortable though (tampons are unbearable at the later stages of periods, but comfy during the first 2-3 days, just after the first 12h). I just switched-off my periods with a contraceptive injection and I do highly recommend, it's absolutely lovely not having to even remember about having a period every month or taking pills daily at the same time. I just hate wearing pads, tampons & cups

About the height comparison with breast reduction, i think there is a procedure where you can reduce your leg bones. I know it exists to add height for people who want to be taller, and while i dont know for sure i feel like it exists the other way too. So even his example didn’t prove his point because if this is true, his choice to not do an optional surgery has nothing to do with anyone else choosing to go through with it for height. Same for a breast reduction. And also something I wanna add is tall height isn’t even comparable to large breasts to begin with because it has to do with weight distribution. Different heights don’t change your center of gravity but different breast sizes do.
Also, 1.90m and 110kg is just your average Dutch guy … I'd be curious to know what kinds of medical issues he's talking about that allegedly stem from that.
I noticed that when I had breast reduction and they took 3 pounds of breast tissue out (about 1.4kg). It was a lot easier to stand "properly," as in not hunched over, and less painful too because I have arthritis in my upper back and neck! I

I did not teach sex ed to children, I taught it to college students, and I did a demonstration of a tampon in a water bottle, but it was specifically because a guy asked how it "kept everything in the vagina" so I put a tampon in a full bottle of water and flipped it over. But I wouldn't do that for actual children because it can be scary. If you're a 23 year old man and you asked, you can handle it lol
This is extremely "your mileage may vary", but: for those who can tolerate contraceptive pills, it's possible to choose to have periods early, late, or even skip them.
When I was on the combined, I only had about 3-4 periods a year (took the real pills back-to-back instead of skipping, or taking the placebo pill, for a week), and now on the minipill, I've not had a period for literal years.
Hormonal contraception is not a valid option for many women, but if your system rolls with it, I don't see why this approach isn't actively recommended everywhere, because newsflash: periods are sucky AF.
I've tried multiple combo pills and besides the mood swings (if my husband looked at me sideways he was on deathrow xD) i found the time restraint around taking them to be too narrow. Occasionally I would miss out by an hour and then have breakthrough bleeding on top of the pain and desire to unalive the next living thing to cross my path. XD
I'm looking into other alternatives now but adamant against IUD. Tbh, the thought of IUD terrifies me.

Affected by endometriosis, premenstrual and postmentrual syndrome, polycistic ovaries, mastodyny, long irregular and profuse periods, losing lots of blood and unable to function, i was put on a combo pill that made everything worse. For me the gestagen only mini pills were the only ones that worked, and i also stopped the skipping and thus lost periods for good, it is a two mg chlormadinon a day. I do get a tiny bleeding if i forget it for a day, but i can go one and a half day without and not get a bleeding. Made my life so much better and additionally stopped my interstitiel lung tumor, too.
I had been taking the pill for years, many years until I read this in a forum. Why did my gyno never mention this option on the annual visits? Beats me. I was so annoyed when I found out. Just started taking them continuously and told my gyno at the next visit. She just shrugged, it's fine if you want to do that. Why wouldn't anyone want to skip periods?!

As a Trans guy with endometriosis I cannot express the pain we are expected to deal with. After my last surgery I got ibuprofen. I had to fight like crazy to get surgery because i was of and i quote "breeding age". I finally found a dr to do a partial. However because they refused to take it all i know need to save up for another surgery that is needed asap because I am still having issues. I will say I've been on blockers (I'm 38 conservatives. They are estrogen blockers.) for several months and it helps. However I have to fight for that too. 🙄 I was forced to keep parts i didn't want and it is going to cost me another 5 grand or more to fix the issues. 🤬 I needed to vent. Thanks.
TLDR Endometriosis is absolutely miserable. As someone who get frequent kidney stones i can say I'd rather have 10 stones at once. 😖

100% this, especially if a shower and fresh underwear+outer legwear (trousers, skirt, leggings, whatever you usually go for) doesn't totally fix the issue for at least the better part of a day.
Also if that area starts smelling again before other parts of your body do, I'd still check with a doctor. It could just be a general hygiene thing needing to wipe/wash better, or possibly a more serious underlying issue.

In elementary school, we had a Sex ED day where we were split into 2 groups. However, they said the boys were going to learn both while we girls were only allowed to watch our own video. We all banded together insisting it wasn't fair until they gave in and showed us the boys' video too. My middle/high school Sex ED in Florida was mostly STD fear mongering and preaching abstinence.

Regarding the women's waist section, one of my favorite lines in a book was for somebody talking about Scarlett O'Hara being described in the novel Gone With The Wind is having an 18-in waist. The author of the book I was reading noted that that woman and her waist were both fictional.
I suspect the strong ageism against women is from straight men who, consciously or otherwise, view relationships transactionally in terms of reproductive utility.
In other words, they want partners they perceive to be at “peak” fertility. This line of thinking can be quite alien to queer people, since we often don’t have physical relationships in ways where having kids the “usual” way is a factor.
Of course, some guys are just predatory and looking for excuses to pursue people who are *way* too young. 🤢

I turned 25 last summer and I saw a picture of me when I was twenty compared to a picture of me now and it made me really happy. I look healthier (cause I am no longer a poor student), I am starting to get some smile lines (which means I am enjoying my time on earth). I am very happy with the signs of aging that I am seeing. 😊

4:48... The sad part is though that there is actually a logical reason why it gets dismissed so badly. And that it that everyone experiences things differently and have their own perspectives while as it is really easy to go "well is the health care actually worse or is it the exact same but feels worse due to only being able to experience the other side through other people's experiences and not personal experiences and who is to say that maybe they were not believed because their personality makes them seem to over exaggerate things.
With that said, no it is not a perception thing and very much is a thing and I can say that from experience. Now how can I make such a bold claim. Well there are a lot of factors in which I can say that, coming up on 4 years ago now I was diagnoses with thyroid cancer and the entire experience from having coughing fits to the point of coughing up blood every single hour of every single day for 7 weeks straight to getting treatment I was believed the entire time about my experience. But having had cancer I had to see multiple different doctors every year multiple times a year for the first 5 years. About a year ago I explored myself after another cancer scare because my body could no longer keep lying to itself and learned that part of what I have been suffering with since childhood was dysphoria and so decided to do something about it and came out as trans. Now while there are other doctors as well there are 3 doctor's who really stood out in their view points about me, my GP NP who was really indifferent and was just basically just doing everything by the book and at first my gender didn't matter to them at all but then later it did play a bit of a role, my Endocrinologist who acted very transphobic, and my ENT who actually viewed and treated me as the woman I am which was both really affirming and really awful at the same time because I did see the difference rather quickly. While an example I am going to give isn't positive or negative and is just different (I am not going to get into my personal health stuff and most the pros and cons all are with things too personal) it still shows a difference. So in all previous visits the ENT would do an examination of my neck feeling around rather roughly and the only two people in the room were him and myself. But the first time I saw him after being out the exam was very very different which at the time made me really really uncomfortable but afterwards after realizing what was going on made me feel euphoric. So go in it is time to do the exact same exam I have had done 7 times before, cool I am ready, but something different happens this time. He calls in both a woman CNA and the only man CNA they had to come be witness. Didn't tell me they would be in the room, and then proceeded to do the exam all be it much more gentle and slower being more fragile. During this whole experience I couldn't help but to feel like "what is he getting sued for harming someone or for triggering a DV survivor and so had to treat me a bit more fragile due to me being in a DV situation, like what the heck what is with this awkwardness. It wasn't until afterwards that I realized that the reason for the change was because he was treating me the exact same way he treats all his women patients and the reason I wasn't warned about the witnesses is because he had just viewed me both as a return patient and as the woman I am and so because he normally warns the women of the procedure he uses to ensure both the patients safety as well as his safety against false allegations that there will be both a man and woman witness as to be able to avoid any allegations of the witness lying because they are (insert gender her), the reason why he didn't warn me of the changes to the exam is because in his mind he was just going "ok this is a returning patient who is a woman that must mean they have already been informed the procedure so I am just going to do it because they already know. Another example is my GP, like I said at first they didn't treat me any different but that did change, they stopped treating me with respect and started acting as if they believe I am a hypochondriac despite literally nothing having changed other than I was fully socially transitioned but none of my issues where new apart from the things created my the DV situation. So yeah seeing as I have not changed other than my appearence, my doctors have not changed and the only difference being viewed as a man vs being viewed as the woman I am and how I was treated, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the gap iin healthcare for men and the healthcare for women is very much a real thing.

Not me but when my brother was like 15 he started playing tennis, and he was good. By 17 he was developing an attitude about it. That is until he played against his father. He told me once when he turned forty( which was my dad’s age when they played ) that he remembered thinking how easy it would be to take on an old man. He realized forty wasn’t that old and dad had still been very much physically fit because he was still in the military.

I was talking with one of my friends about periods and one of my other friends who was nearby said “what’s a period i keep hearing AFAB people talking about it” and me and my friend legitimately had to explain to this guy what a period was. he is 17 years old and i’m honestly not disappointed in him im disappointed in our sex ed.
If that landlord in the post you read at 20:40 is in the U.S, they essentially confessed to violating the Civil Rights Act of 1968; namely Title VII, Section 804. To quote the relevent section, "To refuse to...rent... a dwelling to any person because of sex [shall be illegal]."

I suspect the "woman in a placenta" comment is actually an anti-abortion, "fetus rights" comment. They're saying something like, "you talk about women having rights, but what about the rights of women before they are born?" IE, when they are still fetuses.
That's what I thought. Of course, if you have a "woman" in your uterus you've got big problems, given that "women" are, by definition, adults. (Also, the fetus is not "in" the placenta so they even got that wrong...).
Yes, but the problem is still that *no one* is ever inside a placenta.

Your sex ed experience reminded me of mine we were separated into m/f groups at the end of the "lesson" we were told we weren't allowed to talk to the female class about our lesson. Like it was a giant secret.
I was threatened to be reported to senior teachers because I mentioned the lesson (I didn't even describe any of the lesson's content, just referred to it) outside of class. Because destigmatisation and normalisation of normal human experiences was _so_ important to my school.

I can say that my father is a hero personally. He sat my brothers down when they were sixteen and gave them "the talk" he explained the standard safe way for the bedroom tango, but he also explained to them about periods and gave them tips for helping future partners.
