I LOVE that closet/storage shelves area. Totally unexpected. Also crazy in love with the door's inside functionality and the pocket screen door.
Such creative people!
I just ordered mine and I can't get enough of your videos! I've been planning and looking for 3 years and after touring dozens of rigs, the 400 seemed the highest quality (except for Airstream, but who can afford that?!). Thank you for sharing your experiences and expertise!
Congratulations!! I have the same thought about them... I know you'll go on some great adventures!
Jessica Taylor
Have you looked at the little guy mini max?
Jessica
Airstreams are indeed way overpriced and their interior decor is boring looking.
Okie Rider Airstream hold the value over the years. These don’t
That trailer rocks. Lots of counter space. Finally a design that’s totally functional
We have a T@B 400 BD Lite - upgraded in April 2019 from a T@B 320 CS-S. When she walked around to driver's side of the camper, the storage panel she mentions accesses the controls for the hotwater heater etc. The large circular panel by the side light is access to a built in sewer hose storage. It's connected to a large pvc pipe under the bed. The connection to flush the blackwater tank is new. You basically connect your dark hose here and keeping the grey/dark water lever open, you can flush the systems plus your sewer hose. The eating area is nice, under the table there is an AC plug plus two USB connectors. The table is heavy, about 25lbs so since we don't plan to use this area for extra sleeping space, we are going to replace the table with lighter weight material. When you read about the overall weight of the trailer, especially the tongue weight, you'll understand. The storage under the bed is deceiving in the video. When you open the center panel, you do have storage but that is also where the batteries and control system are. This area is a challenging to access when you have the bed made, so anything you keep here probably shouldn't be something you need access to all the time. You also want it relatively secure, so it doesn't bounce into the batteries and controls. By the bed, those two lights also have a blue setting which is nice if you need light but don't want to wake your partner. The TVs nuCamp install are not top of the line, so when we ordered ours we opted not to have a factory TV installed. nuCamp were great, they installed the wiring etc., but left out the TV. We had a 22" Smart TV from my daughter's college days that works great. When we travel, we have it laying flat on the bed. Our unit has a heat pump in addition to the Alde system. So, when connected to shore power we run either the A/C or heat. When we boondock and need heat, we would use the Alde heater that runs off the propane. The A/C unit is very efficient and very quite compared to the one in our 320 CS-S. We opted for the three-way fridge, so we lost the large storage closet but no regrets as we got a large fridge. Ours can run off AC, propane or the batteries though on batteries it's not the most efficient. For the bathroom, some initial concerns with the design but the wrap around shower curtain does work for keeping things dry. The key for the 400 is your tow vehicle. The trailer comes in at around 3600 lbs with a tongue weight close to 475lbs, so you need to know the towing capabilities of your vehicle before you pull the plug on the 400 BD.
Kudos! Beautiful presentation Mandy.
Camper has a great design. Thanks.
This is the camper I really want. Thanks for the tour
Of course! Thanks for watching! Glad you like it!
Very nicely designed. Love the shower/washroom combo and the kitchen workspace.
Thank you so much for this video. I've been hoping a Boondock version of the 400 would come around before I retire. They made it with 9 years to spare!
Plenty of time to enjoy it on the weekends!
My favorite sales person and photographer - You've shown me my someday T@B!
Yay! Can't wait for you to get him/her :)
Great video. Short, succinct and thorough. Nice little camper!
Thank you! I try to keep them short... I lose my own attention so easy I can only imagine how others feel, haha
Great walkthrough and a really nice caravan. Looks as good as it is functional.
It is indeed! Thanks!
The fold up bath sink is a win!
Great video. I'm so glad they changed the rear overhang. That was the one thing that I didn't like on last years.
You’re an excellent spokesperson for Tab. Great job. Like this more rugged one.
Well thank you so much! I only talk about the things I believe it :) And yes, rugged rules!
Love this trailer. It's perfect.
That is one cool camper, as soon as I finish my current build I want one of these so watch my channel for that build. Thanks for the great video
Great video 😎👌
Thanks 😁
My 4 years dream, a home on wheels! Of my own.
I wish my budget would aloud A T@BT❤
Start saving and keep your eye out for used!
Sorry I meant to say I love these little trailers
You got me when you said "I don't want to hear me talk for 30 minutes" I am now a subsciber. Keep short and to the point and I will be back 👏👊👍
I agree 100%!
I'm curious! How do you fit all your stuff in the little fridge?! Do you just grocery shop every few days? These are neat little trailers! Wouldn't work for my family of 5 but maybe when the "kids fly the best"!
Wow that's one awesome little trailer !!! It's packed really well !!! Wonder if they could put a jacuzzi tub in place of the dinette ??? Love ur vids !!! Brava 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
LOL! That would be a best seller for sure!
This would be perfect if somehow we could add a bunk to the front
Ordered ours; trading our 2018 T@B 320 CS-S for this 400 boodock model. We wanted a permanent bed and larger bathroom and still keep our clearance and ability to drive off-road a bit. Right after watching the video, we called our dealer in AL who had one in stock we could check out. Some folks might balk at the price, but we were looking at the Air Stream Nest but for almost double the money, I would be worried driving it anywhere off pavement - watched the video review and a number of components near the axle are low to the ground.
Good call. The Nest is pretty cool but when you look at it practically, this is the way to go! Glad you got your order in!!
So are we. Dealer said we would have it by April in time for a few shake down trips before our long journey to Alaska. Not sure where we'll overnight in Deadhorse. You have any recommendations?@@MandyLea
I have yet to see an Airstream Nest or BaseCamp on highways/roads/National Park Campground or anywhere else.
Awesome! Love that this model includes a microwave.👍
Gotta admit! We really love this one!
OMG, I've been waiting for them to put the big axel on it!
Well can't afford one but it would be great to retire travel with;) have a great trip girl...you and your special guy:). Happy trails, you will love the north part. Sending love, prayers and good will your way. Cheers! From Canada.
Thanks for the well wishes Vicki!
For those that say it's too expensive, sure but compared to what? I just paid 400 for a name brand tent. Yep, that was a mistake. I want the very best bed I can get,,is there a factory upgraded mattress ?
There isn't one offered by the factory, but I follow a lot of T@B groups on facebook and they share all kinds of amazing mods! Including many to the bed...
Fantastic info here. Now we are deciding which version to purchase. Keep em coming..
Jon, we use a very think mattress cover and sleep very comfortably.
I'm a little over 6'3" / Will I fit in this trailer? / How much do these cost? Thx! 🙂
Finally, an interior design that is sleek and stylish. This look competes with European caravan styling and design, which I find, is often a bit more pleasing. With the exception of 'Airstream' and 'Leasure Travel Vans' of Canada.
Now, if they would simply fire the guy who does their exterior graphics ... ugh ... and hire a serious Graphic Designer. Perferably one who specializes in environmental design. Then the [T@B] people ... dare I say it ... can change the world!
Have you seen any of the pics of our brand new T@B 400? We did a custom graphic... you can order them "blank" and add whatever you want. I have our new one on some recent videos and also on my FB and IG pages.
Haven't seen you in awhile....I'm glad youtube found you for me!
Aw, I hate when people lose me :) haha, glad you found me again!
Hey Mandy, dose any of the campers you mentioned come with solar systems installed as an option or is this something you have to add later either through the dealership or as a diy?
Side note, love all of yours and Kendrick’ videos and anxiously await the next installments.... keep up the good work and most of all, enjoy yourselves!!! 👍👍👍
is it posible replace the dinette area with a bunk bed? this is a very nice camper though. thank for this video.
Thanks for the kind note Owen! You can get solar installed by the manufacturer as an option - its just an additional fee. I have the manufacturer solar and it works great. It is slim and curved and mounted to the roof :)
Lito, it is not an option to have the manufacturer do this, however if you found someone very handy I'm sure it would be an interesting mod!
It’s a factory option to get solar panels on the T@B 400.You can also get an inverter
Love It!!!!❤
The more I see this, the better I like it! Now, it has my “must-haves” - a Bathroom and a separate dinette! Hmm, gonna have to look into this. What small SUV’s can pull this?
It just depends on the engine. Make sure to look at the tow capacity of the vehicles you look at.
A very nice caravan, well fitted out for its size, although the fridge is too small, especially for 'boondocking'.
There is an option to get a larger 5 cu ft. fridge too!
Several comments. I really like the look and construction of the Tab RVs and would be willing to pay more for one if they made some changes or offered a new slightly larger model, while keeping the weight down so the Jeep Cherokee with tow package can still easily tow it. The Tab 450 Boondock Edge sounds nice. :D
If you have any influence I note several things.
A: A model with a walk around bed, so that one partner does not have to crawl over the other to go to the bathroom at night.
B: Move the Microwave down. Short people like my wife and yourself are put in danger taking out hot dishes with hands above your head.
C: The only other thing would be a dry bath.
Thanks.
Thanks for watching Gerard!
Gerard. Its the weight, as is the 400 BD lite is close to 3600lbs with a tongue weight of about 475. We pull ours with a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with a towing capacity of 6200 and rated tongue weight capacity of 620. I've read some folks make up the eating area into a second bed and the smaller of the couple sleeps there. As for the microwave, it's small and I mean college dorm small so we don't plan to use ours for anything except making popcorn for movie night. Hind sight being what it is, we would probably have opted not to have a micowave and use the area for additional storage. If you ever get the chance, you need to do a personal walk through of the 400. I think you would be impressed.
@@chaosncheckt9356 Those printed weights can be deceptive. Look at Mandy's preparations for the Alaska to Mexico Trip. They got actual weights and if I remember correctly, both the loaded weight and the tongue weight was considerably less than in spec sheet. I am currently looking at a Coachmen Apex Nano 191RBS, which is in the same weight range, but has the features we desire, except I am not happy with the TPO roof.
Gerard Trigo I think the larger storage box and dual propane may have started to push her 320’s tongue weight. My comments on weights are from the fact sheet but also from the t@b 400 forum under towing. In the end it comes down to what you can afford, the features you want, how you plan to use it and what you plan to tow it with.
Hi Mandy, I have not seen one of your videos for about a year. I just hate it when people comment on appearance, but when you first walked up to your camera in this video, I was so impressed with your fitness level and when it then showed your full body, I thought how wonderful that you look so very healthy. (That’s a euphemism for lost so much weight.). Oh, and the Tab 400 looks really great too!
I'm glad you found me again! Thanks Heather.
NIce camper, a bit to metro design (to many angles and crevices to keep clean)for serious camping. Does it have a smooth vinyl floor or that dirt catcher basket weave stuff used in previous years? LIke the idea of a skylight over bed in theory only...the design seems to eventually leak at the seams due to the flex of the surface and sealing..same problem as rpods and other trailers when using a window on a curved surface....not a fan of wood in a wet space like bathroom even with a shower curtain..do like the bed though...at the price $30K+ = might as well get a fully molded fiberglass trailer that will probably have a higher resale value when the time comes to part with it...the attention to detail and build quality of the T@B trailers is rare and most welcome since most trailers are poorly built.
Nice rig....not sure I can get thru that door....
Hi! My husband and I are deciding between a t@b 400 and an Airstream Bambi 16. Could you comment on how the bed is for two people in the 400? I'm worried that the slanting angle of the back of the teardrop might be a deal breaker. Thanks :)
great video !!!
Microwave! Would like more storage or the ability to add room for a Quad/gear/etc. I had a dream the other day about designing this... asking for my input to the Boondock 400!
They are always customizable if you have the tools and knowledge :) I love seeing some of the creative mods people come up with!
Great work Mandy!
Thanks Tracy!
Very nice
Can a compost toilet be installed in this camper?
i am surprised not to see solar integration considering it’s called „Boondock“
Solar integration is an additional option you can have the factory add. Since it isn't standard on every model I didn't include it.
maby your seeing not the solar as they elected to go ahead and make it not part of this package
Boondock my arse
@@TheIvabigun T@B 400 BD Lite, with solar. Our T@B easily supported us for a six day off-grid boondocking trip. We did not have an generator and did all of our cooking on a Coleman portable gas grill. Temperatures were cool, so the roof vent fan and having the large windows open provided ample cooling/breeze. Our trailer is capable of carrying 30gals of fresh water and the grey/black tanks hold quite a bit.
Mandy what camera an lens do you use and what is that orange on your camera
Thank you
Answered in your other comment :) Cheers!
What were your reasons for choosing a trailer instead of a van or something else? Thanks in advance. :)
That's a great question, and something I tell everyone going full time to think about. For us, it was important to be able to set-up camp somehwhere, unhitch, and have our car to drive around while our camper kept our site reserved. While vans are nice and a little more stealth, I would go crazy having to pack everything up just to go somewhere and then losing my campspot.
$29,000? Yikes!
Just toured one of these side by side with a Retro trailer, and there is no comparison in terms of quality and sturdiness. These trailers feel like they are going to be around for a long time, and compared with the cost of something like a Leisure Travel Van, or even the new Volkswagon Euro Camper, these trailers are a steal!
@@kristenmclean2792, yes! We are in the smaller T@B and have towed it 50k miles on some rough roads over two years. We've only had to tighten a few screws here and there.
@Bekanne Miller Haven't seen an Airstream that is really designed for off-road or true boondocking. We were seriously considering an Airstream Nest or BaseCamp but given the more than 10k difference in price and the fact neither has a dedicated eating/sleeping area and only the Basecamp could be considered capable of being pulled off pavement, it was an easy decision to go with nuCamp and the 400. Yes, the Airstreams are nice, but you are paying for that name.
What is the gas mileage when towing the trailer. Thanks :)
Depends how much crap one insists on bringing. Go light.
LOL, yes it can depend on how much "crap" you have, but more than that it will really depend on the vehicle you are towing it with...
No freezer?! Would like to hear from current owners regarding maintenance costs and quality of the 400. Thanks!
If you go with the larger fridge you lose the large storage closet but you gain a nice freezer. It is what we did and we can get ice trays, burgers and two chicken breast in the freezer (it's a tight fit) but we also carry an ARB in our TV.
great!!! how much . I have a toyota CHR would be enough ?
I'm really not familiar with the towing capacities of vehicle models, but this camper is about 2700 lbs. dry weight.
@@MandyLea thank you for answer
What is the max weight of the camper?
When are you two getting the 400 Boondock Lite?
Haha, who knows... we have a big trip to go on first!!
Not to put a downer on the video, but the handles on the back are there to move the camper, and you did not demonstrate it,even on cement/asphalt vs possible dirt/grass in a boondocking situation, let alone a campground. It tell me at least in the case of one person traveling alone,FORGET IT.,and you don’t even have it loaded down.Full water fill and all your accessories.
Hi Gregory - oh yes you are right. It would be difficult for one person to move alone. Two people, however, can do it very easily. Of course, you should only have to hand move it if you are in an area difficult to park it in. They are simply there as a convenience. If you don't ever use them, it's no big deal.
Mandy will you please show these guys how to go through a RV. Show the outside fast unless there is something new then get to the floor plan. Don't show me the storage from both side and try to make jokes about kids and the family dog or what I might put in to the storage. Great job!
Thank you Wayne :) I try to be concise!
Price, Price, Price....🤑
15" tire....to handle the really rough stuff huh?
Haha, they aren't claiming to be made for rock crawling. They simply give you more clearance and tread than the little donuts that come on most trailers.
You'd be surprised where these things can go. Especially with a skilled driver...
I would much rather have the dresser where the dinette is like in the 320 clamshell. More storage and room for a single person
What I want to know is do even come with an oven?
No, the only one with an oven is the much larger AVIA
Can you pull one with a Toyota camry?
I don't know the towing capacity of a Camry, you need to check, but I could say with almost 100% certainty that you could NOT pull this with a camry.
Nice little camper.
yesssssss
How large is the bed?
What;s the weight?
Depending on options it comes in around 2700 lbs.
how much a trailer TB 400 2017 to 2019, and if I can bring it to Brazil.
I have no idea what the import/export laws are.
It would seem to make more sense if towed with a truck or rugged SUV in which you could store additional supplies - e.g. a generator. I didn't see a price but someone suggested $30K? A lot.
thire right can run up to 30,000 ] seen em at hersey p.a. r.v. show 18,000
Why is the bed mattress in three pieces? It looks like a permanent structure. Those crevices with cushions making up beds are so uncomfortable. If I'm spending 30-35k a good one piece mattress, light but supportive should come with it. Having to put a topper on is maddening.
It is so that you can easily open the under-bed storage. A full mattress would be heavy and hard to lift. Plus, its always easy to just add a topper for those who prefer.
Mandy Lea Photo Still, in this day and age easy lift bed pneumatic hinge solves that with making lifting a mattress easy .
this is our RV.........
cool camper
Thank you!
@7:19 you say that you have the option of the microwave inside...could you please explain?
Above the kitchen counter you can either get a microwave with a cabinet or two cabinets if you prefer more storage over a microwave :)
My dream
Show inside the outside storage.
Nice
$30,000! 😳
Closer to $40,000 after everything is paid for... Yikes! My first house cost 1/3 as much and it went up in value!
So let me get this straight here you wanted a microwave which can only be used when the trailer is plugged in, but you wanted an off-road trailer which would then mean you're out in the wilderness with no plugins, now tell me what use is a microwave
Hi Oscar! I totally know what you are saying! I, personally, would never want a microwave for that exact reason. However, as a manufacturer they are trying to please as many people as possible... and SO MANY people want a microwave. You can still order it with a cabinet instead and they will totally build it that way!!
You take a generator. Your a/c doesn't work with out being plugged in either. Are you going to say what use is the a/c?
@@scott0551 Exactly: You CAN have microwave and AC comforts even when out in the sticks: Take a small generator, something like a Honda or Yamaha if you want the better/quieter ones -- they should run the little Danby (?) AC and microwave, but maybe not both at the same time. If it won't run the AC (I meaning, START it) then put a "soft-start" device on the AC and even the smaller generators will work.
Happy Boon-docking,
-- BR
Great tour, but you all fail to give us an idea about the price.
Apologies. The manufacturer does not sell direct so the price is going to vary quite a bit depending on your location, the dealership, and the options you add. In general the T@B 400 will run between 28k - 30k
I like the camper but for $30k I would get a larger one.
Keep in mind that sometimes you do really get what you pay for. My dad bought a 30 foot camper that costs just under what we paid for our 15 foot T@B (smaller model than the one in this video). He took his camper in on warranty 4 times in the first year. We've towed ours 50k miles on some pretty rough roads in two years and have only had to tighten a few screws. Sometimes a product is worth the extra money...
Also, with a larger camper comes the need for a larger tow vehicle. These weight under 2,700 pounds dry weight, which don't need a big truck to tow.
For a single adult with my dog, I want the smallest trailer to pull that has everything I want in it. I want a comfortable place to work with my laptop, the dinette, looks like it would do that very well, I want a comfy bed at night, not a spring chicken anymore, that bed looks very comfortable. very efficient bathroom and kitchen, those two places I want to get the job done and not waste time. This also looks like a trailer that would hold up well. Easy tow, all the necessities, looks great, just need to find a local dealer and actually set in one. If I want more open space I will stay home. I want a camper to get me to fun places so I can get outside and enjoy them.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏
Bom dia vocês podem fazer importação para o Brasil ou vocês tem algum REPRESETANTE comercial ou importador do produto de vocês pois é muito lindo e de altíssima qualidade.
hate the woven floors, theyre always dirty.
Many people agreed and that is why as of 2020 they stopped using those floors. This is an older tour video.
I got to have the shower. I aint stinking
What’s the reason for no bathroom?
There is a bathroom with shower, sink, toilet. You must have missed it.
Yep, there is a bathroom!
The lady doing the video stated that she opted for no bathroom in her camper. I was just wondering why. At around 5:01
Oh ya, my camper! I chose no bathroom for a couple reasons - I live full time in a T@B so space is at a premium. By not getting a bathroom it meant I got a closet instead. Also, I don't ever have to deal with dumping or cleaning a black water tank. Kendrick and I are young enough still that we don't mind going out to dig a hole in the woods, or finding public restrooms when we need to :)
Mandy Lea Photo OH. Cool. Thx :)
Way overpriced. That bathroom has wood throughout it. I would imagine that would rot and smell in no time. This camper doesn’t even look comfortable to sit in. It looks good, but for someone who needs one most of the year, it’s not ticking all the boxes and certainly not for that price.
Grey Line take an in person tour of the cheaper brands out there that are half the price and you’ll easily see how much the quality suffers. As for the wood, that’s why there’s a wrap around shower curtain.
Thanks Kodi for taking the time to clarify and set the record straight.
My goodness your beautiful
Well thank you Bob
@@MandyLea your welcome
I don't!!
You don't what? :)
Mandy Lea Photo Dnt show old people just tell the the story features functions
Looks expensive high end
Yes you are short , but cute
Somebody needs to share with NuCamp that the newer style is NOT dark colors but white.....plus, white opens up a smaller area.....giving it the open feel. Plus did somebody forget physics when they moved the air down under the seat.....heat rises, cool falls....not a smart move, but an even bigger problem is how will the air get up from under the bed when it is made up into the full size. I am now looking for a used one, vs a new one. Even NuCamp realized the worth of the lighter colors since the premium unit, Sofitel, was lighter, white colors. This is very disappointing, but maybe I can save some money by finding a nice used one.
Take a look at one in person, perhaps the video didn't show it properly. Although the cabinets are dark - EVERYTHING else is white now. They made the ceiling and walls white, so it is still very bright.
Great layout. Sadly the interior and exterior design is horrendous and kills it. They need to hire a creative right out of school who understands color, finishes and graphic design.
contact nuCamp direct and they are great about discussing color schemes. My didn't like any of the factory options offered by our dealer, so she called nuCamp, explained what she wanted (it was the Softel color package) and they said no problem.
@ has always meant "at" so the name of this trailer is T at B not tab! That said, I love these trailers but I will never buy one because of that misuse of the English language.Sorry.
Then I hope you never shop at places like Toys "R" Us, Rite Aid, Wal-Mart, or 7-Eleven... and never eat things like Dunkin' Donuts, Chic-fil-a, Froot Loops, Cheez Whiz, or Whataburger. It's just creative marketing, thinking outside the box.
Great comeback Mandy!
Tooooooooo expensive
Nice video but I have to ask why in the hell does T@B always fill the camper with crap then give you a tiny sub par bed? Kitchen? Ummm I have a gas grill and a smoker. Shower? Why? Make it an outdoor shower.
I’m a long haul trucker with 30 years experience. I live on the road. Make a camper like the living area in a semi truck and everyone will be happy. More bed space and living area not cluttered with nonsense. More living space is far superior to crappy sleeping and a minuscule dining area that looks entirely too cramped.
The bed is huge - queen sized - and it's super comfy! And most people camping on the road appreciate storage, bathroom and a nice kitchen.
What makes you think that "everyone will be happy" with what YOU want? I've made up my mind that this is perfect for me after looking at 20-24'' travel trailers, and it's just me and my pit bull; I don't need a king sized bed, I'll have plenty of room at the dinette, I have no idea what the hell you're talking about when you say "cluttered with nonsense", and it HAS an outdoor shower, but I won't be using it when it's 20 degrees outside! I live in a 24' tiny house, and I have lots of unused space, so this will be perfect when I fully retire in the next couple of years. And when I drove ('72-86), I had a cabover with a sleeper; yes, it got me to Alaska, Florida, NY, and CA, and every state in between, but I had to eat, shower, shave, and shit in truck stops, so unless the "living area" in trucks today have kitchens and bathrooms, I have no idea what you're talking about. I think perhaps you've been on the road too long, dude!
