All Real Hip-Hop Heads STAND UP! RAKIM this is what I'm talking about! This joint brought tears to my eyes. There Is A God!
Ty Summers I second that Rakim the goat
I remember being a freshman in high school when this came out.
Still a damn good song! 🔥
Rakim is nasty. How he weaves words together is slick.
What you mean
J Solar On the surface, rhymes are basic, but creating them is intricate. The words he chooses to rhyme, how he times them, and the links between them are veteran status. There's no filler.
Mike NA oh
RAKIM, KRS, BIG, JAY Z, PAC, NAS......we taking hip hop right?
Can't forget my man GURU!
Ur list definitely sounds more reasonable. I don't know what dude up there talking bout. How you don't mention the R first, know you don't know what you talking about. Yeah and you can't forget Guru. I would definitely put Pac before Jay and Big all day.
Lol its a generation thing. Dude probably never really listened to the R. The original R....before R.Kelly lol.

***** On the same level as Redman??? LOL! Yeah, right.
***** IDGAF what you have to say either. You're out of your GOTdamn mind if you think Method Man's solo body of work is even in the same Universe as Redman's. Meth's solo albums were GARBAGE after Tical. GARBAGE.
I'll give him credit for his parts on Wu Forever, he came beast on that album. But as a solosit he got exposed. And on the Blackout album Redman was CRUSHING him. It was embarrassing. You're crazy.
Immortal Technique can't spit for shit
Felix Mottram wrong

Straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fire!
What pissed me off is this is amazing and some fool said The Game is up there with Ra.
I'm gonna get alot of hate but bring it, i like some gangsta rap this sound sounds good, but just like wutang and alot of other guys, they keep bringing how they make money on coke on crack, fuck that shit man i don't support that kind of crap man think of all the lives this shit ruined (and still ruins) and all the violence promotion most rappers do, no wonder there is so much gang violence ... we could say the same for movies, that shit is mind control man, I had a friend since when I was teenager, he was into those movies and i saw scarface with him, we were only doing weed at the time it was cool, weed is the real deal, that thing is natural medicine not processed chemicals (with alot of toxic residues on top of that) and crack just fucks people up, well long story short few years later he started doing coke and he started hanging out with guys that did all sorts of other drugs aswell, and he was selling weed at first and said to me to make real money you need to sell more than that,
well last time I saw him he told me he stopped all that but I had stopped seeing him for a long time because I didnt like what he had become (basically a junkie with a fancy car and clothes), i did hang out with them back in the days and never touched that man, never was tempted.
end of story.
Fuck hard drugs, fuck violence, too many life losts and fuck you if you don't agree, and I don't give a shit what you think, I want positive in my life.
That said I still listen to Rakim and wu tang nas etc but I feel bad everytime they mention this crap, and god knows how many time they mention it, it pains me.
18th letter is his best song by far I think (one of best songs in hip hop I think even) that thing is a beauty, and not a single reference to drug and violence, pure art, he just killed it.
Unfortunatly like they said sometimes, they talk about what sells.. it's just sad, we need to wake people up.
and I'd like to add another thing, even more sensivity, it's ridiculous how some of these guys keep mentioning religion, yet the true religion probably would condem violence and drugs... but anyway..
I had to get this out, yo.
Nice words man
Listen to Mos Def, you will love the man.
I know Mos Def mate, long time I haven't listened to him though, thanks for reminding me ;), what are you fav albums of his ?
+Thomas Syxe dunno but i love his song "i'm leaving" it such an awesome music.
I know but it does feel like encouragement somehow.. I was listening to an album of kool g rap yesterday and there was a lot of "drill a hole in your chest, ak47, 44magnum blabla" all this shit gets repetitive and the way some rapper speak about it clearly doesn't show like they condemn it ! I'm not english speaking but from what I can tell at least.. , there was also a wutang album or was it like a ghostface mixtape i donwloaded, only talking about mafiosi gang violence shit, I mean it gets boring always the same shit, like it's ok i get it you like violence, lol.
All Awesome! love it! from Italy!
This song is so amazing!
Akon should have been on this hook..
Nate Dogg?
Yyaaaaasss!
this is interesting why does he only 1,000,000 views Eminem song (phenomenal) 29.000.000 views while this song is much better
these are the people who listen to rap plague
ბაზარი არარი ძმაო. შევეცი ემინემს სადაც რაკიმია
თუფაქის სიმღერები თარგმანით
თუფაქის სიმღერები თარგმანით cause not all people are from the streets
We are not from the streets. But this song is better
Eminem is way more popular cuz he appeared when rap was already well established, he's white and dope which was quite rare then, and Rakim is a lot more about technique and barely swears in all his body of work, people arent that much into technique and not swearing these days
killin it !!!
a rap song can't be better than this
Not a bad track but to me this is just Rakim helping out Maino, really don't believe him. Now I am going to listen to some Rakim tracks, peace.
