Could not agree more @Dee Fair. There are too few of us for us to constantly beef with one another. The uniqueness of the Black man's struggle can only be understood by another Black man, but Charlie would rather we believe that another Black man should be our mortal enemy.

He introduced concepts and topics in Hip Hop such as esoteric Gnostic knowledge (Freemasonry, Cosmic Thought, Egyptology). Rakim's parents were also both musicians and part of the late 60s/early 70s Progressive Jazz movement fusing jazz, bebop, funk, rock, classical, punk and found sounds (early sampling?) So that was a factor and influence as well. Rakim is Hip Hop Perfected

I grew up in the 90's and start listening to Rap in 96...so PE was long in the game and i knew master ra just as a solo artist, but for me as a teen at this time, i fell in love with joints like the 18 letter, it's been a long time, the r, waiting for the world to end and when i be on the mic....my personal opinion is ra is the best that ever done it hands down and word up!! Peaze from Germany 🇩🇪✌️❤️

Yo his dad was brilliant.. when you're raising a kid your job isn't to give them answers.. it's your job to point them in the right direction and teach them the thought process behind figuring out the answers themselves

I never realized that Summer Time by Will Smith was done with Rakim's rhyme style. 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Mind you that is probably his biggest song all time and it was inspired by Rah.

Will Smith's "Summer Time" is a sample of "Summer Madness" by Kool & The Gang.
Kool & The Gang were still a jazz band at the time.
