    The long pipe tends to create a lack of air intake.
    The car starts to shut off.
    It happened to me a few times.
    I had to install the old one.

    Great video explanation. Wish I had found this before my husband changed my charge pipe (2014 BMW 335i RWD N55 F30)...I wasn’t around to supervise and now trying to figure out why he couldn’t get one of the hoses connected back properly to the charge pipe; somehow the hose now has a kink in it.

    Hey man, just got my 2015 335i drive, love the car, looking to install the charge pipe, question tho, do you think the intercooler is a necessary change? I will most likely only be adding an intake and tuning it to stage 1 bm3. Maybe an exhaust too/down pipe but I don’t want it to be obnoxiously loud( if you have any suggestions for that please lmk!)

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto  Před 9 měsíci

      If youre only going to stage 1 an intercooler is not necessary. Youll be fine with the stock intercooler

      My first mod on my 2011 335i was charge pipe, downpipe , then intercooler. Highly recommend that. I’m still on stock intake and the turbo still sounds amazing. And don’t go bm3, all my friends have had trouble with it and it’s a pain to put back to stock. MHD is way better

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto  Před rokem

      I never confirmed but I assumed there was an O-ring since I never had a single issue after 2 years now. I've heard its pretty common for intakes to cause that error code. But I think if you were do like a stage 2 tune it would make the appropriate adjustments and not cause that error. Or you might have to try a different intake.

    I installed the exact same intercooler and charge pipe from CTS Turbo on my F30 N55 RWD. Did you notice the bottom charge pipe fit with a little bit of wiggle when going into the intercooler? I also found the clip for the bottom pipe wasn't very good. I swapped the clip from my old OEM charge pipe onto the new one.

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto  Před 3 lety +1

      The bottom of the charge pipe to intercooler didn’t have any wiggle on mine however for bottom clip it wouldn’t sit all the way in the groove to lock it in place but it was kinda of seated inside so it was secure in place just not all the way. I Haven’t had any issues regardless.

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto  Před 3 lety +1

      It isn't as common from what I've seen, for the inlet pipe to burst but it can happen. I'd say if you're aren't planning to increase the boost with a tune or something and just remain at stock power, I don't think its necessary to upgrade the inlet pipe. I didn't upgrade mine and I am FBO now and I haven't had mine blow or anything yet. However, it is always better to be safe if you're still worried.

    • @rust8infinite

      when your pipe blew up did it cause any other problems?? I got a charge pipe from VRSF and had to wait days for it to come me, and my brother whose a mechanic are doing it at his shop tomorrow because the dealership wanted to charge $1070 for the charge pipe installation alone.
      I told the dealership to do a detailed inspection of the turbo charger and send me videos and the only video i got was brief shot of the turbo where the mechanic glanced over it and said it not leaking any fluids. Apparently they didn't understand the term detailed inspection because I wanna know if the fucking actual turbine itself is intact from when it spun to ??????? rpms briefly when the system lost pressure.
      When it exploded I heard a bunch of noise coming from the back end and thought it was the turbine fins being shit out of the exhaust....

    Great Video, but to anyone trying to buy from CTS Turbo please do some research on the company. They are unreliable and most of the time will send you the wrong product. On top of that you're stuck paying for the cost of return. BS company... just look up their reviews. Made 3 different purchases and only one came correct. Stuck with a $350 return shipping cost.

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto  Před 2 lety

    • @geeniusatwrok
      @geeniusatwrok Před rokem

      VRSF isn't much better. Decided to return catted downpipe on learning it would not allow me to pass Georgia annual inspection, and they charged me a 20% restocking fee which is such BS. I knew 'd have to pay for shipping but 20% to stick a part pack on the shelf? FFFUU.
      Anyway this doesn't look too difficult so I might pop for a new jack that will get under my F30 and install the CP/IC I also bought from them that have been sitting on my garage floor for a year... local shop wants $800 labor to do it. Nah. My OE CP blew awhile back and was replaced under warranty with the updated one - car is a 2014 N55 - that so far is fine but I want to throw a tune on him at some point.

    • @InlineSixAuto
      @InlineSixAuto  Před rokem

      That's one of those issues that could be anything and are hard to diagnose. I would see if any codes are thrown cause that's what would you some idea on what part of the engine to focus on to find the cause. Could be the Mass airflow sensor in the intake, bad coil/sparkplug, ignition timing due to bad sensor, there's a lot of possibilities since you didn't mention it has any serious issues when youre giving it gas while driving.
