Gotta be honest, if Sir Attenborough didn't open this, I probably wouldn't have been sobbing through this video. Just love that man. He's like the grandfather we all wish we had. (Rest in peace grandpa Ale and Lauri)
“The people who demanded the least are feeling the effects more profoundly” - David Attenborough
Well said 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Load of bollocks
You have to love that man, still fighting to protect and preserve our beautiful planet in any way he can.
@@TheCatWitch63I LOVE his documentaries too
Assuming you ignore the fact that it's false.
I don't know what it is about Sir David Attenborough, but every time he talks about the planet it moves me to tears.
Absolutly, and who ever made the video and chose the sound track, combined they all made something just absolutly special
I believe it is because we van feel how much he truly cares about protecting and preserving our planet’s life.
YES! Same! I LOVE THAT MAN! 😊
I don’t tear up every time but I did this time. I can’t imagine a better spokesperson. I just hope he has the same effect on the decision makers of the world.
YOU ARE ALL SO IRONICAL ! HE FEELS COMPLETLY FILLED WITH EVIL ! HOW CAN PEOPLE BE SOOO BLIND ???
Not sure if it's more well known in the UK, but the first time I heard about Earthshot was through the first video Sorted food did, and I would have had no idea about the awards if you guys hadn't made this video. You're doing amazing work bring these initiatives to a larger audience!
I live in London and nah, Sorted was also the first I’d heard of it.
I think it’s a lot of celeb fluff though. I don’t think there’s much here in the way of really getting to grips with the climate crisis - supporting good initiatives without discouraging bad, existing systems erases a very large and important part of the picture. Smacks of the kind of ‘entrepreneurial spirit of the South’ that underpins a lot of philanthropy today.
@@fabe61 It's a different perspective though. There have been many studies done on what emotion people react to best, and it has been proven that many younger people respond to hope better than fear or anger. That is why many entities are focusing more and more on the hopeful positive new perspectives and initiatives in the hope that they will prevail over the older and more harmful practices. Instead of bashing people for what bad things they do know, they try to bring in new better things through hope for the future. I don't know if I explained this well enough, English is my second language, sorry!
Little reminder that it's not the individual that has to change. It's the major companies and leaders of the world to pave the way.
I know what you mean, but it’s also on all of us to demand that change. 1 person might not be able to make a difference, but when millions of us club together, that will make a difference.
@SortedFood Let's just hope we're heard this time. It's difficult seeing nothing from the people who are the biggest offenders. Hard to clean up the paint when someone else is still throwing it everywhere yaknow?
@@SortedFood It sounds very nice but in reality if you just look at the statistics and the numbers (aka money stats...), you see that anything (99%) related to a "let's fight climate change and save the earth" type of idea is pure theatrics
as a none english man (Blagged) i was thinking it was misspelled as in bagged but to anyone else (Blagged) to persuade somebody to give you something, or to let you do something, by talking to them in a clever way
Thank you!
Thank you♡ I wondered about that...
😂😂😂
Thank u. I thought they blogged.
They use the word "scabbed" in New Zealand.
This legitimately gave me hope for the future. It is so easy to focus on all the things going wrong on our planet, highlighting the work that people are doing to improve our world gives me hope for our future.
Hope will be appropriate when emissions are falling rapidly.
They are currently rising
We are currently *subsidising* fossil fuels.
Hope is always appropriate. Ignore the cynical comment above. Hope is what gives us strength and courage to keep fighting against the odds. Bless you, and thank you for your beautiful comment. I feel the same as you too - that we need to put more focus on the helpers and healers in the world. ❤
There’s something one of the guys said about sometimes feeling that the little things we do don’t matter, but I believe that everything adds up in the end.
I do feel cautiously hopeful, and I’m happy to see so many people committed to making a difference, but I also wish that solutions were embraced and carried out by those whose actions would have the greatest impact.
It's a facade. Millionaire circle jerk.
Blind optimism can only do so much. As long as human still egotistical, we won't win this war
If this was about the earth, it would have been a zoom video conference
Personal contact is important for networking. I feel it, too, the glitz and pathos of this event (and video) seem very hollow and people flying around the globe for climate conferences/events is contradictory. But there is no other way to travel long distances than fossil driven currently. Regarding this event practically it brought together scientists and businesses from especially the global south with investors, stakeholders and media from the global north. It raised awareness for an important topic and for companies who try to find innovative and social solutions for climate driven problems on the local scale. Imo, in the capitalized and media-driven world we live you could not replace such an event by a zoom meeting and achieve a similar networking effect.
@@dianthus_rubrum thanks for the explanation I didn’t need.
Was a privilege to be part of it with you guys, to think it started with a burger and a pint 😂
I have been following the Earthshot since it's beginning. I think it's a noble idea. Such big events contribute in spreading awareness. It also attracts investors. All 15 finals get support from the project. Glad to see sortedfood getting involved in it ❤️
SO proud to be a member of this community! The advent calendar now has a crown on it! 👑👑👑👑👑👑

The power and love in the community is what inspires and allows us to continue! 🎉
@@SortedFood you're amazing guys❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@SortedFood oh and the ton of money you are earning from youtube
@@petermoore2796 someone sounds jealous 🤐
I love the journey all y’all have been on since the channel launched. You started with “let’s make good food accessible to students” with cooking demonstrations and simple recipes, and now that’s become “let’s make great food accessible to everyone” with education and advocacy for better systems to provide food to everyone in every walk of life.
This is an “Oscar’s” ceremony I’m happy and excited to see more of. I hope that very soon, this is celebrated and even more widely known than the entertainment version. I love movies and appreciate the work involved but this is something that will change the world for the better, something to save the earth and inspire everyone.
Goosebumps. The entire time. So proud of you lads for getting this opportunity and I truly hope that people will get behind these initiatives - and yours - to live better and help reduce the waste we produce and disregard. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful initiative with us and kudos on your involvement. Well deserved. ❤❤❤
They flew to singapore with a whole bunch of others just to pat themselves on the back!
@@tableshaper4076Oh good, I'm not the only one who sees the irony. This whole thing is fueled (pun intended) by fossil fuels.
WOW! Just WOW!! I'm so glad you shared this, congrats to all the winners! Keep up the hard work , keep protecting us from well, unfortunately us.
And, Sir David Attenborough? Seeing him always makes me smile!
Media awards (oscars emmies etc) are regional due to the different cultures and media born from it, hollywood, bollywood etc. This is a truly global event, which proves that regardless of culture, politics or religion, saving the planet is global effort. Really refreshing to see. Well done guys.
The optimism speaking from this is heartwarming. Quite often I think we’re beyond the point of no return. And then I see this and realise that people are still working on solutions and that there is still hope. ❤
Thank you so much for posting content like this. I've followed you folks for years, and your engagement with sustainability makes me tear up with pride and joy.
I didn't expect to become so emotional while watching this. Thank you to all those who are fighting to heal our planet.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us. When the winner said “Conservation is a team sport” I felt that. When someone thinks “Oh, what does it matter, I’m just one household” they may be but they are part of the team of us all who will do better and leave this place better than we found it.
I am definitely gonna spread the word about all of this to as many as I can. Thank you for making this video, for without it, I would have never known about this project.
We went to the Moon less than 10 years from when President Kennedy announced the Moonshot project. We can always do more than we think. We are always stronger together if we just do what we can. Can everyone afford an electric vehicle? No. But can those who rely on gas/petrol do what they can to avoid unnecessary trips? Yes. Imagine how much waste happens because we make 3 trips to the store instead of 1.
I think it is great to recognize the work of people who are trying to make the world a cleaner, more sustainable place... but, I also can't wonder what the carbon footprint of this awards ceremony were. Between the event itself, and the flights of thousands of people to Singapore, a lot of fossil fuels were consumed.
Excellent observation! Wondering the same.
My thoughts exactly
Nothing says you care about the environment quite like an unsustainable awards show.
Whole thing smacks of celeb fluff and I get the impression that this came about because there’s enough people who will want to say yes to the ideas of royal/wealthy types. I don’t think this represents a strong engagement with the actual problems that underpin the climate crisis. Supporting positive initiatives is well and good but doing so in such an excessive way without speaking at all to the ways in which things need to change and power taken away from certain interest groups/industries means this feels very hollow. The argument that hope is the best motivator is a very poor one, because you need hope and understanding.
I am so happy and proud that you guys got invited to this event.
This community is so amazing and so is this event, honestly I wish and hope that soon this event will get more worldwide coverage and recognition. This is the kind of awesome news I want to see more of all over. It reminds me to believe in the power of kindness, positivity and the love for this planet🫶❤️🌍🌏🌎🙌.
Straight up made me tear up. Such a beautiful cause and seeing SO many people working SO hard to make amazing change for our world is incredible! 💚
MORE! We need a longer version of this guys, like your personal feelings and reviews and such.
I was tearing up as the awards were given out. There’s so much love in the world :’) ❤ God bless you all.
Fantastic video! Gave me goosebumps, I can only imagine how it felt being there in real life.
Congratulations to all the winners!🌟
I am so proud of being a member of this community. And you lads and the whole team should be proud of yourselves, as your hard work on Sidekick IS part of the solution 🌏 💚
This i can get behind because there say hey we need to change and then going this is how we can do it. Hate it when people say stop using oil and plastic. But have nothing to replace it and just say well someone will come up with some thing
Why is it every time Sir David speaks I find myself crying?! That man. What a legend.
What a fabulous initiative too.
On the fourteenth day of December, my true love gave to me: A sneak peak at an awards brought to us by Royal Male and the Sortedbois/Top looking lads looking dapper in suits.
The his brings hope to the small changes we make each day.
WOW! I'm so pleased for you guys! Your channel makes such an impact on an everyday level and its amazing to see how far the Sorted team has come. Well done boys x
Faith in humanity just restored! With all the negative media coverage over ridiculous topics, This needs to be a regular topic that gets covered. I'm blown away by this and love that you boys made it to that ceremony, be it by persuasion or otherwise!! Thank you
Such amazing people and ideas. Huge kudos to the Sorted Food team. Without you, I wouldn't even know about Earth Shot. The fact you bring awareness to your 2.7+ million subscribers about issues like this.... well done and thank you.
Thank you Sorted for sharing, thank you Prince William for promoting all of this, and thank you to everyone involved for putting your heart and soul into making life better for others!
6:13 Not at all surprised by this cameo. What a legend!
That introduction from Sir Attenborough made me cry and feel hopeful at the same time.
So much awesome work people do out there.
Powerful and motivational work. Trying (failing) not to cry at my desk. From highlighting the low emission stoves in Africa several years to partnering with Earthshot now, thank you for continuing to shine a light on the innovators working to protect our planet and all the species that inhabit it. 🌏
Proud of you, boys. Keep spreading the message.
Sir David is ALWAYS a treat. Thanks for the great birthday gift!!!
So amazing that you got to take part in this!
Wow! This must have been an amazing thing to be there! Explains why you were in Singapore! Looked like a hell of an event!
Wow nice! I think I've been watching for a very very long time and to think going from that small kitchen, to new studio, to food and sustainability awards!
Mad guys, love it!
Powerful video done by the sorted team, so glad you have highlighted this and brought it to a wider audience. Also inspirational that people from the whole planet are taking this seriously and educating not just this generation but for the future generations and for the future of this planet that we all call home. Thank you 🙏🙂🇬🇧
This is like making an open bar party for the Foundation against alcohol abuse lol.
I was so close to not bothering to watch this one, but I’m so glad I did. After the disappointment of COP28, I was feeling pretty down about the whole fight against climate change. But you showing all those wonderful people working and innovating for change gave me the lift I needed. Thank you ❤️
i feal the change's here more then ever last year no snow at all witch is unheard off for here this year so far no snow again and the trees are not on dormad, if a cold snap comes the will die.
I literally bawled watching this. Hope and optimism. I think we could all use a double shot of that.
How wonderful that you guys got to go! You all looked so handsome in your tuxedos!
So proud of Sorted being part of the solution and bringing more awareness of the need to save our natural resources. I've tried to make my students aware of the need to not waste food and to recycle everything that they can. Sometime you feel like Sisyphus when you have to remind them more than once. But then you have the one student how takes it to heart and passes the knowledge on. That is a victory!
And can I just say how much I appreciate how the boys show their love and support for each other. Sure the cheek kissing is played for a bit of a laugh but then Jamie touches Mike's arm with sincerity and true affection to reflect how they truly feel about each other. Great role models for our students on that front as well.
Amazing video! Great to see so many people working for the benefit of the enviorment! Fills me with so much hope
Might be the gin in my water bottle but this made me cry my eyes out on the jubilee line
How awesome is this!? Absolutely amazing! So many cool new ideas, and so many wonderful people working on them!
This time of year can be quite hard & depressing for many people. While all the lights, glitter (which is bad), consumerism, consumption & parties roll out all bright & noisy; there are many who feel down & can get lost in the clamour. This was a nice little bright spot in at least one of those folks days. It would be nice to think that initiatives like this will snowball & make a difference in the future.
Glad Sorted got involved with this & are doing their part through education & the likes of SideKick to help reduce waste. Its good that it teaches people that saving themselves money through less waste will contribute to make the planet a more sustainable place without being preachy. I found out long ago that standing on the outside shouting in has little effect, you have to make it seem like a good idea for people in the short-term to get groups to listen.
Keep up the good work,
This event is literally all of those things you spoke about negatively: lights, glitter, consumerism, consumption, parties, bright, and noisey.
So inspiring. Thank you lads for all that you do and bringing all this to us. I had not heard of Earthshot before your first video about it.
I was surprised I felt emotional watching this. Being a fan of Sorted for half my life and seeing them in a space like this. Y'all deserve everything and more coming your way. ❤️❤️💪💪👍👍
Mike as a Paparazzo? Wow that’s amazing!
You guys look so sharp on those suits! And congrats on the invitations🤵♂️🤵♂️🤵♂️🤵♂️🤵♂️🤵♂️
This made so emotional these guys are the solution and it’s positive to see
This video fills me with so much hope! We all need that. This needs lot more views!
Thanks guys - It cant be easy being positive every day but I"m so grateful you share it with us.
The way my jaw dropped when David Attenborough appeared lol.
The amount these rich people spent on the glamour and show could've been spent on actual causes.
That was astounding! Love the video promoting people who are going to save the planet! If each of us looked after our little part of the world - we would truly make it a bettter place! x
Wow, I literally teared up during that opening video. From being the goofy dudes who did silly challenges to being a part of something worldwide. You guys prove that you're more than just CZcamsrs and have a mission worthy of being proud of. That's why I watch your videos. Keep it strong and keep it running.
What an amazing event!
And what an amazing reminder of the community that is built around Sorted Food.
Those little things may seem little, but in a group like this we can make those things huge!
Surely this is why you’re at the Earth Shot prize, because a healthy and balanced perspective on food as a community is the only way to succeed for the planet as whole ❤
It's really sad that if we wanted to, we could. There is enough money and resources on this planet to help EVERY SINGLE nominee, for years.
BEST ONE EVAAAARRRR¡ So inspiring, guys, and vital to share this content!
This whole video sent tingles down my spine. Incredible stuff - and hugely optimistic. Well done, chaps!!
This was really beautiful. Thank you for sharing your incredible trip with us, Sorted Team!
this is so spectacular because it is so reassuring to see how many people really are working on making our planet a better place. thank you so much for sharing. my heart is full. 💛
Of course Ebbers knows how to tie a bow tie.

@@SortedFood🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Wow, that's amazing! So good to see that there are solutions and people are finding and implementing them. 🥰
A great prze for 'small' solutions to save the planet. Thank you sorted for teaming up with this great cause.
Just imagine all of the money, resources and time that were put into the award show and its participants had been invested in the actual projects instead.
It is SO hard to feel hopeful when everything feels so grim. Especially as someone with existential dread on top of everything else I have to deal with. Thank you for highlighting this in a positive way.
Beautiful message. Beautiful video.
Dear Sorted Team! I am very proud of you and would like to congratulate you on receiving a recognition of your efforts at a such high level! ❤🌍
I LOVE that video from you guys; thank you for highlighting this for all of us! 🌶💖
Does it not seem a bit hypocritical having hundreds of people fly half-way around the world to celebrate sustainability? Surely an on-line award ceremony would be better
Yes
If you compare it to long term solutions, it's worth it.
They did that last year and yet people complained why some nominees weren't in Boston, and why Earthshot didn't fly them. Winners and nominees attended through video call.
Why did I assume Ebbers would be in a full tux with red shorts
Inspirational and awesome (in the most literal sense) piece, but I can't help but be distracted by everyone just sweating it out at a Singaporean hawker center the day before 😅
This was simply amazing everyone. Thanks for shining a light on this for us.
William who, that’s Sir David Attenborough.. I can listen to him forever
Wow guys you look really good and handsome. Well deserved and So proud that you for being recognised for your work. Being invited for such a prestigious award show is a sign that you are in the big league 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Congratulations to all the winners
So many inspired and inspiring people. Thanks for showcasing them!
It is really amazing to see this video, I am really happy to see you share this. This channel has for as long as I can remember, promoted planning meals, reducing food waste, and eating sustainably locally sourced food. Congrats on your recognition in this and again, thank you for sharing this and spreading this goal.
I spent that entire video with tears in my eyes, happy tears from hope. Also, this video was beautifully edited, and took me on a journey.
This made me cry so much. It so hard to fight the feeling of hopelessness and loss when you look at the news. We are losing animal species everyday, seeing the disasters around the world because of climate change, and constantly seeing images of rubbish piles and damaged environments. Something like this is such a light in the darkness, such an important spark of hope, that we need to make sure it reaches as many people as possible. This made me feel so much more hopeful about our future on this planet, and I can't wait to see what they do with their prizes
It has been such a long time to see you guys dress up so formally in videos❤congratulations guys❤
Last time that I remember the lads in formal wear, was trying to eat a meal in the back seat of a Ford(?) driven full speed on a test track. Driven by a professional driver, of course.
Hilarity (pee in your pants hilarity) ensued. Betcha the state of their jackets returned to the rental store weren't funny.
@@joansamuels3241 Yes I remember that video too, it was an ad but it was sooooo fun to watch🌟🌟I will go and rewatch that video🥳
Earth shot does so much good and it’s only going to grow. Thank you sorted food for communicating that sustainability means not only taking care of ourselves but the environment from which we need.
This is such a magnificent and critical program. I hope more people learn about Earth Shot and make more of an effort to make changes in their own lives to help the earth. She's the only Mother our race has.
Thank you so much for sharing! This gave me goosebumps and made me tear up! ❤❤❤
Finally something to give me hope for the world my grandchildren are growing up in. Thank for taking us along. 💙👏👏👏🌏🎖
Wow. i FELT the inspiration watching this. We are bombarded by so much bad and this was so...beautiful.
Hello from Southern California. When I was a child in the 1950s and 1960s I loved watching nature shows because they brought the wonders of nature to me. I don't enjoy them now because invariably they talk about the damage done to the environment by mankind.
This gives me hope as it shows how we can help the planet survive for future generations.
This was wonderful. Thank you for reminding me things are and will continue to get better.
🤣😂 Love all those people flying to Singapore from all over the globe to save the planet...well done!!
This is fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing ❤ ❤
congratulations to all the incredible winners making our world a better place, thank you!!!
I don’t have the answer to the worlds environmental problems, but it fills me with hope to see so many young people excited and doing SOMETHING! My first granddaughter was just born and I have hope that the world she lives in will be better than it is today….if we do our part.
