Hope I'm not late to the party, but I was wondering, what size fuel line and connectors did you use on the setup? Specifically from the output of the pressure regulator to the carbs themselves? Thanks.
thanks for all of the info josh a.
At looking rally good on here mate keep up there good work on here mate how are u ok mate
Omg!!
That’s exactly how I dream about my engine!
I think I have a 1500 single port and I’m dying to convert it to dual carb.
Where are you located?
Thanks
What type of linkage did you use
what do you call thats feeding both carbs fuel, that you have mounted of the fan shroud?
Shawn Floyd it's a fuel pressure regulator, and in our opinion a must for dual carbs. We use Holley part number 12-804 and set the pressure to 2.5psi for these carbs.
so it would be the fuel line from the tank to the in line on the fuel pump, then the out line to the fuel regulator and then that splits off to both carbs. i dont see a fuel filter, do you choose not to run one?
Shawn Floyd yes on the routing. The fuel filter is right after the tank on our run stand. We don't locate fuel filters in the engine bay, but always use one.
Hi Josh, what cool system i need for the 1600 Single Port with Dual EPC 34's? Enough to have only a doghouse fan shrouds? and what oil system recomended you? a full flow oil pump 32 mm with filter is fine? I Appreciate your help. Thanks
Freddys Nava stock everything is fine. Filter pumps are nice for the extra capacity and filtration but you don't need an external oil cooler.
What are the pros and cons of going with this carb setup over a standard single 34 pict carb
I purchased them for my current stockish 1641cc rebuild. They should allow the engine to breathe better in general over a 34 Pict. This is my first foray into dual carbs but I figured that these are low cost enough that I won't be out too much. Cons are of course it is a pain to learn to synch them and keep them properly adjusted.
Hey I'm new to the air cooled vw seen I have a 67 bug 1500 single port. I'm looking for a lik extra power I recently have done electronic ignition, replaced the exhaust, and would like to change out the carb. Any recommendations?
the EMPI dual EPC34 kit is a nice little performance upgrade on a 1500. I wouldn't hesitate to run them. jogrusa.com/products/empi-dual-epc-34-carb-kit-kit-vw-type-1-single-port
Josh A thanks for the reply man. Would I have to rejet the carbs because I'm running electronic ignition? Also I'm not sure if you would know the answer to this? But after my engine is warm it's very hard to start. Do you know what this could be? Thanks for any information man I appreciate it
The 1500 in stock form is perfect. Leave it stock. My opinion.
I got a question…what’s the fuel pressure for the 1600cc engine? I don’t know what to set my fuel pressure regulator to…thanks
2.5psi
how much power (HP) you expect?
ante l. About 65
they're all the same!
