    Hi
    This van came to me with the Airbag light on.
    After scanning the airbag module, I started to check the steering squib, as the error message was for the driver side airbag.
    I couldn't repair the problem/ part, but in the video, I will take you through the process of finding, diagnose and test the circuit.
    Hope you find some useful information on this video.
    Hope you enjoy the video.
    Any questions please put them below.

    When renault thought it was clever to run a 12 volt supply from a 15 amp fuse through the clock spring. Haven’t they heard of relays?

    it is wise to disconnect the battery before doing this type of work as one doesnt want ones airbag goin off in ones mush

    Just a word of warning if you're unlucky like me and own a mk2 megane.
    After months of problems, clutch, steering rack etc, i decided to take it for an Mot. The day before i was going to go for the mot i suddenly discovered a lever under the steering wheel, never looked there before, decided to pull the lever and tilt the steering wheel up, airbag light came on!, ahahahaha, aaaahahahaha! I love this car. Not!
    Incidentally, car had new airbag clockspring/squib 6 months ago!

      @@LMAutoRepairs I've heard that you can get products to sparingly use on airbag connections to increase/ensure conductivity? Is it die electric grease or something? Or is there some other product i could use, have you heard of anything? Cheers, Lee.

      Tell me where in the video I said that?
      Unless I was referring to the airbag resistance... not the circuit...

    Hi i have the same problem well the same symptoms, can you not check the clock spring through continuity on the airbag wiring say the plug to plug, the plug at the rear to the plug that goes into the airbag itself as i dont have such sophisticated equipment as yours but have a multimeter many thanks..

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  Před 6 lety +2

      hibernia-nation
      If the problem is the tensioner, there is no need to touch the clock spring/ squib...

    • @raycarey21
      @raycarey21 Před 6 lety

      lmsvvavr Thanks again. Where is the tensioner located and is it difficult to solve?

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  Před 6 lety +2

      The tensioner on that one I am not sure...
      But should be by the seat belt buckle...
      You see that the buckle has a sort of a tube with a plug on it...
      But check connections and wires, in case is a wiring problem and not the tensioner itself.

      Ok
      You should have more than one wire feed... depending on the module type... check them all... check ground.... if all of, it might be that you have a faulty module... or something between the plug pin and the pcb...

      @@LMAutoRepairs I have the same problem. Horn has not been working Esther a couple years before the warning lights came on. Fault reader gives code Df158. Strong indications about the fault being in colck spring, not pretensioners? Also line 2 shows 99,9 ohms...
