All of the Brecker idolatry in the comments … A great player but not some god, and he would have balked at all the he’s the best BS. He was a super humble dude who recognized that he was one among many great players, as fully talented as he.
Fully agree. That muscular, bravado approach is just a small piece of the puzzle. Plus: would there even be a MB without preceding influences like Joe Henderson??
I was there at one of these sets.
What a night to remember.
Brecker completely blows liebman and Lovano away for me. Sound, approach technique and most importantly his time is perfect! A true master.
Perfect time is useless compared to commanding time. Joe commands time. Far more swinging.

Sounds like the perfect candidate of someone to be idolized 😂
@@bendameron9922 Perhaps … just minus all the “he’s the best sax player ever BS. “
Phil Markowitz solo 0:27
Liebman solo 3:15
Brecker solo 9:24
Lovano solo 15:51
Head 19:31

Living legends is niet helemaal op zijn plaats hier toch?
je hebt gelijk, maar Michael Brecker blijft voortleven in zijn unieke speelwijze!
Who’s the rhythm section?
Billy Hart on drums !
maybe the worst comments section I've ever seen on a jazz video...😂
A lot of jive output here. None from Michael though. Michael is always the real deal. No jive…never…
looks like rufus reid on bass and jack dejohnette on drums, whos on piano? jarrett?
Billy Hart on the drums
Phil Markowitz I think.
Jeff Goldblum
If I never heard Liebman play I wouldn't have missed a thing.
