So, this is my daily reader, and as a female, I *absolutely* prefer it to the She Reads Truth version. (as does my mom and sister). There's a practicality and forthrightness to the visual elements that avoids the cliche and allows original thought (even with the ghosting ha). So glad you did a review on this one! I highly recommend this version for anyone, even though it's marketed towards men.

I’m glad you posted this. I’ve been seeing both versions of these Bibles in the Barnes and Noble for some time now. I just never understood the purpose of having a Bible for men and then one for women. What’s the difference? Are there certain devotionals geared towards men and certain devotionals geared towards women? Or is one for women more colorful and full of pretty graphics and things that women are drawn to? (well some, not all)🤷🏾‍♀️

@@JerseyGurl4Life not really, the women’s one is more colorful with flowery designs etc. I returned it and got the men version, I much prefer minimal patterns and neutral colors lol

I wish there were more Bibles like this for guys! Some of my guy friends are interested in note taking or Bible journaling but most journaling Bibles are too girly for them. The maps and the overall visual elements are so sleek and clean! Thank you for your review!

There's now also the Men of character Bible. I don't know if I would buy it since I already have this He reads truth bible and.. well.. they are both CSB's, but.. I heard that one is great too. Beautiful artwork and yet easy on the eyes and some helpful tools. A little more than in the 'He reads truth'.
There's also the 'apologetics study bible'. That one is also more geared towards men. It has many articles on how to defend your faith. And there's the 'fisher of men' bible, which is about how to share your faith. And I would loooove to have the 'Holy land illustrated'. It's basically a Bible full of photos and illustrations of Israel and about the stuff they used in those days.
I wouldn't do any journaling in these bibles though.

    • @JerseyGurl4Life
      @JerseyGurl4Life Před 2 lety

They do have more masculine journaling bibles. I actually have two of them. I don’t go for the girly stuff either.

Great review of this bible, Tim! It is quickly becoming my go-to.
The design of the He & She Reads Truth bibles are as close to perfection as I've found. It's hard to explain but the design makes it a joy to pick up and it's easy to read for a very long while (in comparison to bibles that are often OVERdesigned & cluttered). Absolutely love it!
PS: That cloth over board version is gorgeous! (I have the black leathertouch one, which is also super nice)

I got the He Reads Truth Bible today in the leather touch indexed too, and I was really getting into it, and then discovered that the Indexing was crazy! Seemed to be fine up to Romans, then went haywire. I will be marching right back to the store with it. Now I understand why some people prefer to put there own tabs on their Bibles and forego the Indexed versions. Otherwise, this is a great Bible for both men and women.

I have this Bible and really enjoy it. My only real complaint is similar to yours with the page opaqueness. Also similar to you, when I first got this Bible in the mail, I went right to Acts to nerd out on the maps. 😂 Nice review!

Thanks again for another review review.. I love all the different types of CSB bibles and in a perfect world I would buy a copy of every one (but my conscience tells somehting else). It is a real dilemma for me but feel attractive by this He Reads Truth Bible. No doubt Homan will be producing others to make matters even more difficult (haha), but I am grateful to God for the time and effort that Holman have put into the CSB to make it available to enjoy and benefit from in many different formats.

The He Reads Truth Bible has many aspects that aid in reading the Bible and learning as well. The difficulty for me is in the print, as my eyesight is unable to read the small print. The other objection is the paper. The thinness of it would be distracting. Otherwise, it looks like an excellent Bible to read and study.

Looking to find a Bible we can order for each of the boys/girls in our youth group. Almost all of them show up to Sunday School and pull out there phones when we dig into scripture. My prayer is that they will each have a Bible to treasure the way I treasure my Charles Spurgeon CSB and my ESV Study Bible. After doing some reading and seeing your review I think we will pull the trigger with the He Reads/She Reads Bibles! Thanks for the great review!

I definitely see the need for the lower gsm paper due to the size of the Bible, but I couldn’t handle that ghosting. Maybe they could use a titanium coated paper like what is found in the Topaz to help with opacity.

Yea, the bulkiness was a concern for me. I pulled the trigger on it though because that was the only con I could think of for this Bible. I would appreciate it greatly, however, if anyone knows of a case that this Bible would fit. That is if there are any.

This paper... ugh. I'm glad some people are able to enjoy it but I bought the green one and never used it because I prefer to read one page at a time. I'd like to try it again but I put it in a box somewhere. This is possibly my most disappointing Bible purchase. Sorry to be negative. Maybe I'm just too picky. 39 gsm French-milled paper has spoiled me, I guess. Again, glad some people aren't distracted by the paper. I'm decidedly not one of them.

I wish I had this men group that you mentioned where you just sit down and talk about your life and talk about your faith. But I've tried two different groups in different years now. And I always feel so much social anxiety. I never know what to say and sometimes they laugh and I'm like: why are they laughing? And most of them have something in common and I wouldn't know what to say. And every time I say something, I'm doubting that I won't say something weird or inappropriate.
And the worst thing of all is: I'm starting to doubt my faith because of all this anxiety. I mean, surely if I believe in Jesus there's no reason to feel nervous or anything. Then why do I feel so insecure and anxious amongst these men of my own age? Then I'm like: There must be something wrong with my faith.
I know this ain't the right place to say this, but I don't know who else to talk to.

You are not the only one that feels this way. I too find it hard to find men or Christian community group that just do life together like in Acts chapter 2. Maybe if you can find a men's midweek bible study to start. Even with that I am struggling with faith and my believe. After every meeting and group geathering I still feel alone in my walk and no connections with anyone. Keep on looking asking knocking and praying for true biblical fellowship with God and his children. There has to be people out there that we can help us grow and encourage one another. God help us to meet people we need and who need us.

If you have trusted Jesus to be that perfect sacrifice in your place...and are born again as He gives you a new heart and gives you the Holy Spirit that guides us (as born again believers) in all truth.... don't let the old nature continue to speak those lies... Jesus makes us new creations. He delivers us from death to life and it can be a challenge when you want to be on the same page with Jesus as He is with the Father and be on that same page with others that are also saved.. sanctification can be a challenge in the way that while some have less of a willingness to pick up their cross (daily) and choosing to let the old nature die off (die to self....(old nature selfishness) it can be different to find someone who is at the same place and time and where they are in their walking with Christ Jesus.
It's not a bad thing to test to see if your faith is legit..taking a spiritual inventory of where you are through the lens of God's word (through the Gospel....which is the power of God unto salvation)...
How are you doing now? I just saw this comment and while God is not bound by time and we are....there is a genuine want to encourage each other in the saving faith of Jesus...and not just faith in faith itself.
      😇💪🙏
