- Join us on our day out to Verulamium. In the previous part we had a nostalgic detour through St. Albans, visited the Roman remains of Verulamium Temple and Theatre, in this part we visit the Verulamium Museum and Park, with a meal at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, thankfully re-opened now.

Hi Bob and Jenny loved watching these videos I was born in Saint Albans in 1971 at tytterhanger Green. But sadly we moved away but all my family are from Saint Albans. Lovely to watch these videos and the happy memories I have .

Hello, I live in Hemel Hempstead 6 miles away, just love St.Albans, I used to go there as a child with my grandparents, a mate and I used to go drinking at the rose and crown pub in the 60s (pub has closed down) watching your video brought back some good memories, happy days.

I used to go to the boating lake when I was a kid staying with my grandmother who lived in Marshall’s Wick Lane!

Another interesting video Bob, did you know the towers were a later addition and therefore not tied into the existing wall, but butted up to it.
I find this period fascinating, leading to my library of 40+ books on Roman Britain.

I lived at no 70 woodland drive,early 60s through to 1987..not long after got married and moved to hedley road.Rats castle,bunch of cherries and the baton were my locals.Surname Allen
There were so many pubs back then.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo baton knocked down and is now m and s food hall.Lot of the community pubs gone.king Offa,the camp gone or restaurant bars
@@zumbieuk shame, but the Camp was where Jenny's uncle used to go and get in fights!
