Keep your suggestion to yourself and people who are afraid - dont eat. Coz to get rid E. Coli is to overcook it. The national dish will no longer tender. By the way it isnt a new news. It has already report there are E.Coli in the chicken due to the cooking method. Like I said, ppl have a choice for not eating it but dont destroy it due to your health concern.

Suffered like hell in January/February as I got acute gastritis as well. I used to eat anything. My stomach will take long time to go back to normal and quite sensitive now, and cos of that I am now super wary of what I eat and where it comes from. So shocked to see even seemingly normal chicken rice have such high bacteria count as well. Can't thank you enough for this, such high level of effort too.
Plus I stay in Outram, gonna try that one out haha!

This video is an eye-opener for consumers. There were many dirty food sellers not complying with food hygiene like roti prata, mixed veg and meats, nasi lemak, char siew, noodles sellers etc. .

Oh man never knew that my childhood favourite Bao Mei has 25,000 ecoli.
Tian Tian Chicken rice topped the ecoli list at 490,000. Ah Tai is better than that.
Chatterbox is so expensive but also got 7,800 ecoli.
Sin Kee Chicken rice also on michelin bib gourmand but got 37,000 ecoli.
Ah Boy chicken rice is near my house, good that it's top 4.
New Teck Kee: must try the truffle chicken rice platter.
Evertop Chicken rice: good halal place.

To be fair, samples should be taken at about the same timing. Eg 11 am when the 1st batch of chicken meat is ready to be served. Bacteria will keep growing when the chicken is first prepared and awaiting to be served. As such the bacteria count for a chicken at 11 am will be very different from samples taken at 4 pm. The chopping board is also a conducive surface for bacteria growth as the day progresses. So many factors will contribute to the bacteria count so to be fair samples should be only taken when such varying conditions are kept to minimum.

Thats true too!! But a consistent place will hopefully maintain the cleanliness throughout the service... Not just 11am...

It does not matter. If the chicken rice owners know that by 4pm, the chicken bacteria count is up, they should have dispose it. Allowing bacteria infected chicken to be sold to customers is totally irregular.

@@arangy1it doesn't matter. No stalls do that. Ain't nobody going to do that.
I agree with the original comment. The conduct of the experiment is abit unfair.

@@arangy1 It does matter if we are concern whether those rated at very low bacteria count are really consistent if samples are taken at different time. We might be misled to think their hygiene is good throughout the day. You never know they may be as bad if samples are taken at 4 pm.

Well. The bacteria count should be same at start of business day and same at end of business day.

Please submit the results to the relevant Ministry to check the stalls with high count of bacteria; for the sake of public health safety, no joke.
