    I have been running the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra and Smart Home Panel 2 (SHP2) at a rehab house for about 3 months now. I will walk you through my experience (both good and bad) in addition to testing out integrating older EcoFlow Delta Pro units into the SHP2. This overall system provides a great battery backup for this home and also helps to offset some of the power demands.

    Tip about AWG and cable area - if you double them up in parallel, you jump 3 sizes:
    2 x 10 AWG -> 7 AWG
    4 x 10 AWG -> 4 AWG

    I have the same setup (only with more batteries) and I received the error several times too. But once I got on the latest firmware I have had NO issues. I'm kind of amazed at how well its working really.

    News coming out of the biggest supplier, CED, is that multiple contractors who have installed EG4 systems for clients are struggling to get many through inspection because they apparently falsified their UL listing. Can’t verify any of this at the moment but this is what I’m being told through my information sources high up in the industry.

      Hey Julian, thanks for the heads up. If they didn’t actually get UL approval that would be a bit of a problem. I will dig deeper to see if I can find any additional info.

    Thanks for the video. It answers some of the questions I had. I have 2 DP with dual voltage hub1 and a10 circuit xfer switch for emergency backup. I had been considering the setup you have. Where did you find the dual voltage hub2 and cords to connect the DP's?

    Great video! Thanks! I have a similar set up. Quick questions: 1) Can you charge your Delta Pro with the SHP2 using the 7200 max input? 2) where can you buy the Insight Tablet? 3) Can you have 5600w Solar on the Ultra + 2 x 1600 watt on your Delta Pros for a total of 8800w solar input? Thanks!

    As always, another great video, appreciate it! Couple questions:
    1 - Is the Ecoflow Deltra Pro Ultra UL Certified (safety question)?
    2 - Was the Ecoflow Deltra Pro Ultra something you purchased or was it given to you by EcoFlow?

    • @everydaysolar
      @everydaysolar  Před 2 měsíci +4

      1. Yeah I think the UL 1741 certification in associated to the Smart Home Panel 2 and not allowing you to feed power back on the grid in a power outage.
      2. Yes, everything in this video was given to me by EcoFlow at no cost.

  • @ahaveland
    @ahaveland Před 2 měsíci

    These look well integrated, but do they sync with the grid and with each other?
    I made my own power station with a 3kW standalone inverter and 3kWh of scooter batteries in a toolbox/handcart, but I daren't wire it into my apartment system unless I could be sure that the smart meter and grid were completely isolated!
    Still, it's useful for outages to run a fridge, microwave, computer. and charge a car in emergencies.

    One thing I have never found an answer to ... Can these power units be charged at certain time of day?
    If yes, this would really expand the consumer base beyond solar users, so it electricity can be purchased at cheaper time from grid, and then use the Ecoflow during the expensive/peak time if day

    I didn't know you could plug in two Delta Pros (with a hub) into the Smart Home Panel 2. Thought only the newer stuff could plug into it. HUH

    • @everydaysolar
      @everydaysolar  Před měsícem +1

      Nope, backward compatible as long as you have the new dual voltage hub with the infinity plus plug.

    It's a shame that the Delta Pro and SHP1 doesn't work with the PowerInsights Display. Appears ecoflow has basically abandoned those with the Delta pro's and are busy designing a whole bunch of other new stuff without considering the ecosystem that you can "add" to. You'll have to rip and replace..... very unfortunate

      Customer service is going to be poor for nearly all brands of power stations and hybrid inverters. Only a few companies actually offer proper warranty service. Victron, Enphase, SMA, Sol-Ark, and a few others have real warranties and real customer service. Most of the generic stuff you see on Amazon does not. CZcams creators can get good service, but regular customers.... probably not so much.
      Brands like Eco-Flow, Bluetti, and so forth, should only be purchased if you are willing to throw the sucker away when it breaks... which is why I don't recommend large power stations at all myself, let alone power-station expansion eco-systems. It is really hard to justify buying a power station larger than around 1000Wh.
      This is one of the major down-sides to trying to use a power station to run a home. It's a proprietary, expensive, single point of failure, with essentially no warranty service. And very few such systems are going to last more than a few years. They are not made with high-end components.
      Discrete systems are a thousand times better. More work to DIY, but a thousand times better... even without warranty service, you have a lot more redundancy and component failures are far less expensive to replace.
      Just in general terms. I'm not harping on the video per-say, other than to point out that creators really need to be more cognizant of the life-span of these sorts of systems.

    Without a transformer to provide galvanic isolation, you're playing Russian Roulette with your home's appliances. I would never power my home's appliances with one of these high frequency, transformerless inverters.

    • @junkerzn7312
      @junkerzn7312 Před 2 měsíci +10

      Galvanic isolation has nothing whatsoever to do with home wiring which is already going to be referenced to earth ground through the neutral. Unless you want to complain that utility wiring isn't isolated. Galvanic isolation is only really an issue in marine environments... in the home, only your water heater has to deal with it and of course the water heater already has a sacrificial rod for that.
