loved the review! only thing i disagree with is the o’connor miscasting. his character wasn’t supposed to have *that* much chemistry with italia to begin with because he’s clearly never moved on from beniamina. he was grateful to her for helping with italian and could tell she liked him, so he tried to reciprocate those feelings; ultimately, he was still in love with beniamina, and he chose to be with her in the end because of it.

also, o’connor is one of the few young big british actors who doesn’t come from a posh background which i can really tell from watching his interviews and other appearances. and it terms of ruggedness, he kinda looks like a cleaned-up shane macgowan in this film, which is still a pretty grimey image.
