I really miss the old control wizard before they did all the class changes. It’s like they just slapped encounter powers around and called it good when the original actually had really good and satisfying combos.

Honestly i just started playing again, since i last played 2019, not long ago and i’m in love with my Thaumaturge. Hits like a truck and i’m out dpsing people 20k item level above me with proper rotations, my arcanist however i kind of fell out of love for, it just doesnt hit for shit. Plenty of CC but what does that matter if nothing dies.

Having played this game for many years and seen how classes can go from being the most awesome DPS to being specifically ignored for group play (Seriously... Rogue went through a period around Mod 14/15 where you would get insta-booted in group play... in the days before Random Queues) to back round to being great again...I would suggest always picking a class that you enjoy playing rather than based on the rather flimsy state of "What's best!" cos that will change... not might... WILL. That way, even if you aren't topping the leader boards, you will still be having fun playing the game. Also have a secondary character that is quite different to your main. That way you'll have the option of variety...
I agree with your comment 100%. When I started playing my HR was my favorite to play, but people would leave the party when they saw an HR or 2 in the group. It was really frustrating, but I stuck with it and still love playing the HR. I loved my OP too and never had a problem staying in a party because everyone needed a tank...but, again, the HR was my fave so I just found parties within my guild until people realized the HR wasn't such a drain on a party. If you don't enjoy playing your character, why play at all?
Agreed. Whenever I get into a new MMO, I'll watch videos like this to either get an idea of how each class plays (and looks while doing it), as well as help me choose if I'm having trouble deciding between a couple. Being meta isn't the end all be all, but it helps seeing where they stack.
@@4vrJaci I know exactly what you mean. I mained trapmaster until it was completely nerfed. To the point I would be kicked even with good stats etc. So I built a warlock. Now I play both.
I’m a new player that plays on Xbox. I started as a fighter, but the whole block mechanic is kind of awkward with a controller. I decided to switch to Rogue, and dodging is much easier to do.
I play as Fighter since 2015 because the class was (and still is) very versatile, the ol' Tactician paragon memories, does nice damage and can tank very well. Fighters might be not the best class, but it's the class I like the most and I have fun playing.
I enjoy the Fighter, especially since the switch gave it a proper DPS Paragon. When I first started playing it annoyed me that the only options for "Fighter" were "TANK" Guardian Fighter and "LUNATIC" Great Weapon Fighter... I have one I sometimes use for group play when people need a Tank... my problem is that I don't play it often enough and still try to TAB Mark targets for Aggro... d'oh!
The fighter has been shit since they took away their brutal atwill and gave it to "barbarians". They don't do enough damage to be top DPS and they're too fragile to be top tanks. I used to love them, my first character ever was a fighter, but now I hate them. They're crap.

Honestly while I can understand why bard may be hard for someone to pick up, it was the first class I ever played on Neverwinter and I absolutely love it. Takes some getting used to especially with playing the songs but if you stack stuff right a group of enemies will be down in five seconds maximum. I can't speak for healer, only dps
Made a ranger Hunter as my first toon and she’s so good to play, I’ve tried various toons too to see if any others could make me switch full time and it hasn’t happened. She’s damn reliable in VOS and other Qs too
@@kittywampusdrums4963 yeah I can totally see why, I got a hard upto 20, yesterday, update dropped Tuesday for me on Xbox and I really enjoy playing the bard dps. The songs are fiddly but it has a play style similar to rogue and warlock, like a combo of the two.
I first started playing this game in November 2019 and my first toon who is still my main toon is my Hunter Ranger. I miss the uncapped power he had before the combat rework of this past January cut everyone's balls off and made single dot minions the most deadly mobs of dungeons/skirmishes AND I miss being able to solo dungeons like Malabog/Valindra's Tower/Castle Never without dying. He always was a glass cannon and still is and will always be my main and favorite to use. I never did get to try VOS/Zariel's Challenge/Tomm, I'm a pure solo guildless player and I only play with one other person unless I queue up for one of the once easier dungeons.

I had been playing NW for 3 years. I stopped playing 2 months ago because i got annoyed trying to reach the stats required for the end game content... Players that think they are better than you, bla bla bla... With this mod i was thinking to restart a new character without thinking to the stats, or BiS race, class or whatever... I just want to play an mmorpg with a pg that i feel mine
I honestly enjoy the hard heals … especially going the gambler route because I like the gamble of potential-buffs when I stack the buffs correctly it’s really enjoyable for me
Admittedly my paladin did feel a little rough when i first hit 20, but now that i have decent stats and a competant enough healer companion it's been pretty good to me, I always pick the shield style healers if given the choice irregardless of how broken or bad they are.
Rogue is top2 DPS class- how could you place him in average? About Wizard- i met 2/3 wizard who really made very good DPS, not sure how- but I suppose Macro users.
I personally think Rouge is the best PVP-DPS. probably u can try yourself on Preview and maxed everything there check the stats and compared the damage done. I'm pretty sure @Aragon do his studies/Numbers before made the video publicly. I think u rank by what u saw not by the numbers. I trust his judgment since he always do the numbers mostly on his video :D
i figured so far for my wizard, to now the contend you running well, helps a lot. Cuz u must switch spells a lot. Macros like wows shift:mod macros, wo switch the spell wenn clicking and then fires would increase the output overall a lot. i dont have one of those and i can see in the end, that i have done wrong decisions.
I dont know about other classes, but since i main warlock and havent played any other classes even a single minute, i want to say that: - My curse consuming build which im playing since 2017 with Parting Blasphemy and Double Scorch has only 1 disadvantage which is a BIG FAULT MADE BY DEVS! Cooldown of Curse Bite, my encounter power, CANNOT be reduced at all, no matter which feat u pick. When the tooltip says "blah-blah-blah reduces your encounter cooldowns by blah-blah-blah", its not true at all. People say thats just because this encounter power has charges, but fucking sake, i dont care about it since there is no information about exceptions from devs ingame. And also this encounter power DOES NOT affected by Sniper perk from rings, so, -6% potential damage already (Same for DOT from Hellfire Ring). I love this build, most of the time i deal massive damage, but cmon, i cant compete with other DPS classes just because i already lost some damage % because of what i said above. Its not my fault and i could never guess such build has problems due to bad coding maybe?
then never try wizard, it has so much shit coding and/or buggs, that if they just fixed 30% of them, the class would actualy compete at the top atm^^ The entier wizard class is currently balanced around it BEING BUGGED and not working, and when you get to the high end with maxed out stats, it actualy does compete with the FotM while 90% of it's kit not working propperly. But unbalance it's stats, and it does less dps than a good healer/tank...
I have to strongly disagree with your ranking of the rogue, every time I play with a top tier rogue they’re leaves ahead of the competition this even in scaled content. In vos they’re always top with the HR. And I think it doesn’t make sense for it to be below a cleric dps, when rogue is probably top 2 aoe damage dealers in the game, and is actually really good with boss fights whereas u stated the Ceric is really only good in ST. If you do a good rotation with rogue you can get massive burst dps and debuff the enemies for the whole team.
Agree. Melee rouge is top notch when it comes to ST. Those 3 burst st skills can't outplayed by any other class. Situational on aoe but it is still burst damage. Always on the top of the paingivers

I feel my wizard is especially sensitive to having good stats/gear. I suspect that for the most part, all of the classes can do well with good gear and player experience. I do seem to hear consistently things like...barbs aren't great tanks (for the most part), warlocks aren't the best healers, etc etc.
Cap. Warlocks Dps are gods when built right. For both aoe and single target. Mostly aoe with high damage though. Just apply curse then pull the curse. Also using the “when curse leaves enemies they take damage” adds loads of damage

@@KingChibbi late reply but after playing a warlock fresh for mod 22, i can confirm at 40k item level i am out dpsing 50k dps classes, i.e tiamat trial i did 40mil damage to the 2nd highests 32mil
Bard is really nice in AoE... Fully charged contre, into duet right away, then into volti... using jump to not dash. Hard to beat in AoE, because they can stack. Bard heals so far are good till really high damage across all members of the group, where cleric excells at healing across the board... to the point it can get boring because they do so well at healing. Cleric dps is mediocre if you can't grasp balance. My 52k fighter tank walks through VoS. Barb is at least good dps. Pally needs a dps class - maybe choose 2 of the 3... but no dps class for pally is a major draw back. Ofc these are just my opinions from the classes I have invested a decent amount of time on. I've always wanted to have a tier list in this game because of how competetive I am. I really like it. Look forward to seeing updates to it as time goes on and changes are made. Would be curious if you would consider making a tier list for super end game play on the classes. I do think some of them would change potentially. Biggest one being the rogue going higher. I can't tell you how many rogues are wanted in VoS because of their AoE getting forced combat advantage and obliterating everything!
This is why you play the class you enjoy the best and not the one that is OP at the time. I've seen several nerfs/buffs to the classes over the years with each one getting their turn as the broken OP class. This is done intentionally so as a to encourage what is a tiny player base to keep spending money to 'win' (i.e. get the best numbers at the end of content). The problem this has on the game is that it leads to an imbalance of dps classes. So right now for example, the broken OP class is the Rogue and this is why they make up 60% of the dps classes out there. It used to be the GWF (Barb), Lock before that and Wizard before that. If you pick a class based purely on it's damage output, you will feel like leaving the game when that nerf hammer comes crashing down and it's certain too sooner or later This is what you have to understand about the way this game works and always has done. It's a F2P game with barely 2k players logging on each day. There's less than 500 players actually playing at any given time. They need to get their money from somewhere and this is the pay to winners. In order to keep them spending money, they have to constantly buff/nerf the gear/classes. This is why there will always be a crazy broken OP class and a class that is substantially weaker than the others
The rogue is only average? LMAO. Fighter and cleric are better? That absolutely absurd. I can't remember the last time any of those with similar IL were able to out DPS my rogue. The warlock and ranger have once in a great while nut not on a steady basis.
Maybe not on steady basis, but just like Aragon mentioned - Ranger can be hard to play. It highly rewards good players that are familiar with it. I think a good Ranger will always do more than Rogue.
alot of the warlock kit will just give you dot dmg loaded into correct play, it is also realy ennoying, since if you ever try a reflect mechanic, you will suddenly realise how much dot dps the lock has. It is just that by the time dots would matter, most things are dead...

Started on this game nearly two years ago as a Hunter Ranger which is still my main class and I am still a newb. It is the Ranger's duty to pull aggro from any and all party members and to get killed as quickly as possible for the glory. Remember, upon dying you must get angry at the game and direct your anger towards your mouse and keyboard in physical form. God damn the combat rework to hell, I will never accept it.
I suppose it is fitting that the Rogue is good for solo content. The stealth ability has gotten me out of a few pinches by being able to disengage for a few moments to catch my breath, but I would imagine that it would piss people off if I did that as a group :D
Barbar Blademaster 10000% Godly... i outperform very often the other classes in damage. You can be godly with any class if you know how to play your character.

I think this game need to diversify more on the role than just tank, healer & dps. Maybe drop in something like support which specialize in CC. I know D&D bard is more well known for their CC than dps. Control wizard is the master of CC beside dps.
Of all classes I played I enjoy the warlock the most. I don't know why ppl say warlocks are bad. The time is gone mod 16 where they wasn't that good. Now they put a lot of dmg in trials and dungeons
Just started playing on PS4. chose tiefling barbarian. I'm doing okay so far. I think my experience with both online MMOs and couch co-op games like the original dungeons and dragons game, Champions or norrath and baulders gate and Diablo 3 have helped me out alot
And same with the Bard. The bard healer wasn’t designed for casual and or reactive healing that we are all used to. Everything the bard does is proactive. It’s amazing in teams again that are good at what they do. And the bard offers upwards of 40% extra damage to these teams. You do everything ahead of time. Store a big heal for when it’s needed. Bind the big heal. And read the situation accordingly to align your daily to cast the big heal if needed. Otherwise you keep the hot active, and the combat heal song active, and the emergency 50% heal active. All not linked for the extra 15% extra dps. Want more dps? Use the fire song. Equip the feature for more speed. Now I can be incredibly about the two comments I left here. But again. My opinion. My experiences. I only know what I know
I remember happier days of premiere of Neverwinter online when you not only could easily be a tank 'Great Weapon Fighter" (known now as tank) but it was most viable 'siphon tank' excelling at 1vGroup fights being able to heal themselves quicker than damage was dealt to them through middle-class armor. Sadly: that was gone already around Paladin came out. Still it was on and off possibility to tank in this class. Now? I know your debacles are really reliable and I swear I am very fond of your hard work but even with this vid being 11months old I guess Barb Tank is still the worst class to go as... this was my experience 14 months ago (when I've tried to 'return to the game'). Sad as it was my main character - a jokingly done as Woodelf girl with a Giant Sword. I recall the times I was able to be MVP of the Castle Neverwinter raids once they were still new thing as a weird and unconventional tank that still held 2nd-3rd DPS and could CC pretty well - that turned into weirdly unreliable, rather squishy and very poor at CC tank that I would kick out of party myself >_< Oh well... last time I've checked the game there were no Bards and I was awaiting this class since forever, so time to check (my 14th character!) PS: I recall once Sharrandar (old) 1st came and Ranger became a thing I was annoying people around in PVP to 9th heaven with some shenanigans. With proper use of terrain and blind spots you could wipe enemies even 1 v 3 and some skills were so OP they could half HP of tanks if used properly. not to mention Close combat experts which were whole other story (I was Ranged Ranger, still annoying for enemies I admit XD). I still remember people complaining that it should be nerfed ASAP and enemies leaving pvp matches 2 min in as I was fragging the 'out of nowhere' on capture points 2-3 at a time.... oh, nostalgia. Funny to hear Rangers are still strong now though :D
If you’re making a single target rogue as an assassin instead of a whisperknife that’s why you’re struggling. Shadow strike, vengeance pursuit & shadowy disappearance & hateful knives with a shadow of demise feat. Use disheartening strike like a debuffer & either shuriken or cloud of steal. Equip buffs that buff ranged damage at close range. The entire encounter rotation can be executed in a shadow of demise without breaking invisibility. I don’t understand why players are still pushing singular builds for each paragon or excluding paragons entirely without understanding them... the rotation order (with no daily) btw is DS, invis, ST, VP(Mark), SD, VP(strike), CoS or Shuriken. If your daily is full HK replaces SD.
@@Aragon- yeah that doesn’t make up for all the extra damage buffs bud. Additionally being ranged improves survivability in a boss fight. I mean you have 10% damage from DS, 5% from ST, 7% from the ranged attack damage buff feat (not on atm & can’t rememberthe name off the top of my head). Additionally advantageous position provides CA after leaving stealth vengeance pursuit when the strike is triggered while invis hits almost as hard as a daily. I mean have I given enough examples of how these buffs outweigh a bleed effect that could be somewhat substituted with poison & a single at will? The cauldron coupled with the staff of flowers for example would completely negate the comparative benefits of assassin. Don’t forget too all the whisperknife feat damage buffs while in stealth are active on every encounter hit. There is no other rouge encounter rotation that can be entirely executed in stealth, only breaking stealth on the final strike. No other rotation has that capability.
@@Aragon- I really get into this side of the game. I was taught how to design builds on pc. It’s a common talent on pc but unfortunately console players, or Sony at least anyway, never had to learn that skill because they always were able to rely on the hard work & creativity of pc players. It’s my biggest gripe regarding delayed releases for console. However I’ve kept up the practice. However I will admit another downside to console is that we can’t do the things pc players can do to test builds like collecting the raw attack data & converting it into spreadsheets like you do. So I’d actually be really interested to have a discussion about builds & share some of the ones that I’ve designed (I have about 4 or 5 wizard builds for example) with you so you can test them if you want. I try to get creative & I design my toons to match characters from other things like dc, x-men, Fairy Tail & naruto. I have 18toons. Each are a unique build designed specifically to suit the fighting styles of that character. I try to make the game bend to the character I’m designing. I feel if everyone chases the same build or same class based on pc advice it causes havoc in the console community & inflates market values. I don’t know if you realise but the console community, as I said earlier, hasn’t been trained, like pc players have, to design builds & so I imagine on pc when you say 1 thing is the best you still get a fair amount of the community who seek alternatives anyway however on console you drop a vid saying one thing is the best & it’s taken as gospel & they all flock to the advice which kills creativity & inflates the market making it harder for new players to find a solid footing in the game & new players are the lifeblood of this game atm. Ever since ravenloft it’s crucial we nurture those new players as a community in every way possible to ensure the longevity of a game we have all invested so much in. I feel if you presented options instead of reducing everything to a primary option you would promote creative gameplay & lower market pressure. Both of these things would go a long way to encouraging new players. I’m a huge fan of your channel because of your passion for builds but I would love to see a move away from ranking tools & a move towards creative design advice & options. You have the ability & resources to teach console players the pc skill of build design & to promote & encourage it. The amount of good it would do for console would be immeasurable. However take all this with a grain of salt. It’s your channel & you need to do you. I get that. I’m more wanting you to understand where my head is at when I comment the way I do. I don’t want you to think I’m challenging your ideas as an act of disrespect. It’s quite the opposite in fact. I’m a big fan. But I do hope you take what I’ve said into consideration. Thank you for the work you do. I understand the time investment, passion & effort that goes into it. I’m passionate about the game not disrespectful of the contribution you make to the community 😊

@@DOC_NO I was doing Neverwinter pvp content there for a while. But cryptic doesn’t support console youtube or twitch streamers & content providers. They have never been fully committed to staying with console so they persist in dropping content to pc early in order to ensure the most successful content providers are all pc players. Some console players are Facebook admins for various groups but that’s about as far as cryptic will go for console. Basically I’d drop my skeleton builds for each various classes only to have those skeletons adapted by a pc players channel in the next mod before I get a chance on Sony to even glimpse what’s available or test anything. There’s no point in putting content out to gain an audience I’ll only lose to a pc channel in the following mod. If you want to see my builds join a guild in the Crimson Shadow Legion alliance on Sony. If you’re in my alliance I’ll take the time to help you design a build you want, built around what abilities you enjoy using or a theme. We have a few themed guilds including themes like Marvel, DC, Naruto, Fairy Tail & Star Wars as a recent addition with the release of the bard. Pick cleric for life on the easy side and wizard if you enjoy slamming your nether regions in a car door, everything else falls on a gradient leaning towards the cleric's side.
pretty good analysis, in my opinion, since i'm more of an explorer, i categorize the classes according to how easy they can run solo content or how helpful they are on a dungeon, or a raid. SOLO. Warlock, Paladin Barbarian, Ranger, Rogue, Fighter Bard, Wizard, Cleric From my experience, the warlock allows me to survive longer and explore more easily, especially now with the CA of mobs, I can easily escape from that. Dungeon Warlock, Paladin, Fighter Barbarian, Ranger, Rogue Cleric. Wizard, Bard. in a dungeon i find Paladins and warlocks to be really useful either as dps, tank or healing, makes easier for a party to survive, and even when i put them last, in a dungeon, i find wizards AOE attacks and Bards buffs really helpful, bot not of mayor impact. Raid. Paladin, Barbarian, Cleric Warlock, Rogue, Fighter Bard, Wizard Although Raids tend to be very specialized, and have different needs on class balance to be completed, also different modes, different needs.
The only thing that really irritates me I feel all classes are really viable for one….. ppl just don’t play the game correctly (quick queues) it’s just kinda annoying when dps players say omg where we’re the heals (when you ran in battle before a tank and get smacked by every mob in sight) I just feel if everyone plays there role correctly any content should be (challenging I’m sure) but easy to clear. If we’re on a boss and everyone still smacking the boss when there is like 50 adds on the field… lowering the bosses health will just add more adds… speed runs when everyone is dying is kinda boring
When I’m healing and a dps jumps out first, I just let the dps die, and let them use their stones and scrolls. If the glass canons who don’t have awareness at 50% get killed cause they want to be 1sT iN dAmAgE, I let them. 😂

IDK, All I do know if s that I have been doing the Bel fights, and every time I have played them, Barbs are always the top DPS chars in those fights. I love that you did this video, but I still have to wonder if its more skill of the player then the class its self that makes all the difference.
That is more of a who your playing with and what content your doing. Barbs get a lot of their damage from running ahead of the group and being first to damage things. This is why when your in end game content that is less about hitting things first and more about doing damage your going to see higher numbers from the other classes. In other words if your doing Bel then your still at the point of the game that being mobile is a better dps stat than being better at damage. In trials and boss fights barbs will see lower dps scores on those fights. This is why your experience right now isn't going to be the same as an end game player. FYI, I play all classes at end game and have finished vos/tomm/zcm (minus bard, still work in progress) and so I can say that most of the classes are fairly well balanced on dps but there are groupings on dps for all classes. Some require specific builds to do well in end game so that will change where some players see their class ranked. Some of what he ranked is right in my opinion and some of it is wrong.
No I run the rogue and I can destroy any 4 star boss with three hits regardless of how many 1 stars or 2 stars are helping it , I disagree with what use said , yes it's true that stealth is good for evading damage ,however it truly shines when used to get past smaller enemies and go straight for the prize leveling the battlefields tougher targets first and then using regular attacks to clean up what's left. For those reasons I do believe the rogue should be much higher on the list, as I've seen I usually lead any dungeon or group fight I've been in and I think that means that the rogue indeed has a great potential for both evasion tactics and damage output

Ranger warden is no1 for AOE dps. Surprised to not see many people playing it. For healer I'd say warlock can be worse than paladin depending on map. Most of their healing come from the green circle on the ground so limits team's movement. For VOS every warlock healer I met have been horrible esp for final boss where there's blackhole that moves you around. Paladin actually have a better time there if they just time divine shelter correctly and makes it that most shields are used before refreshing.
My Ranking DPS being a top tier in my class: 1. Cleric (single target) 2. Rogues (AoE & Single) 3. Fighters (Based on Skill) 3. Rangers/Warlocks (AoE & Single) 4. Barbies 5. Bards Although, I do think... Each class has an specific stat they must focus to boost their DMG... For instance Locks benefit greatly from high CA due to their NMNP class skill from ANY angle similarly to Rogues. Which is ridiculously hard to cap unlike Rangers that have s higher innate CA. Just food for thought.
I only play a Wizard, and I have to work sooooo hard to be a relevant dps in any content. I’m literally 54k and I get out dps but like 30k HR’s sometimes, it’s so dumb - we need wizard bufffeedddddddd
@@andib.28 he has a point, wizard REALY NEEDS to get their stats propperly balanced for the class to even "function". Wiz goes from no scaling/dmg and hits the threashold of daily spamming, and suddenly it can do deecent dmg (still outpaced by pretty much everyone else at the same skill/geare lvl), but just fixing the buggs the class has, would make it compedative (in high end play) with other dps. Problem is that wiz has been bugged out the ass since beta, and even alot of thous buggs are still plagueing the class...

Tbh i see really rarely good Wizards but if i see a good one then it's a really good One🙆🏻♂️. The Problem is more that SW/TR/HR/GF/DC are way too OP in this Game. Especially if they have the Band of Air from HC VoS.
thats a very good opinion and video (i'm a new ish player so it has been very helpful as a guide) ofc no need for anyone to get upset if they see there class at x rank as we all know if you know how to play your own personal char properly its by a million miles better than having a better ranked class player who is not so wise on how to play there char. if your happy with your choice what does it matter what others think.
Happy to learn that Aragon will run the Dread Ring minidungeons with a Cleric DPS and not with a Barbarian DPS. For him, Cleric is such a more efficient DPS than a barbarian. What to say, red thumb.
lol. Single target dps is usually a lot more valued that aoe. And yes as I said there will always be situations where one class will be better at something than another.
i level my mage to 20 and am extremely disappointed with the damage .. as if i was shooting with cotton balls -_- i hate this With the sorcerer and bard it was very easy and with the magician .. even with his daily strength I didn't even scratch two lousy archers. The mage desperately needs a damage buff !!! -_-
In my opinion, the ranger is not a very good class for SOLO players like myself, just the start of it can be a bit of a struggle, considering reworks in stats and combat, you can deck out your level 1 with a mythic artifact and max enchantments all you want, but your still going to get smacked around combat when you get surrounded. Unlike the old mods, where if you did deck out your new character…you could speed run the whole campaign in just a few hours and be level 60. Ranger are bomb ass fighters, just not for solo players who are just starting out.
As a end game warlock healer you are very right our only never miss heal is vamperic embrace which is also our cleans but I've played warlock for years now so I am stuck in my ways
As a fighter tank I've found myself to always struggle to keep up with a Paladin dps but when it comes down to the single target bosses I'm constantly in control. And one of its attacks will always put you at the top of the threat list which I like alot.
All tanks have the same ability to jump to the top of the threat list and paladin have the best power for that with a range of 80 and you can cast it 5 times in a row, with a divinity pool.
i think they did paladin dirty a bit sins in neverwinter nights paladin was support puffer and tank with decent DPS, so hes roles should be support tank/support DPS, not just tank but support tank meaning tank with buffs no need for so many normal tanks better 1tank that actually does 2support roles (tank and buff) while other1 is pure wall self sustaining for party like usual tank like fighters 1role, 2many tank classes that just tank
Very good video. I personally favourite the rogue and play him the best. It's definitely a personally preference but there are some classes that are lacking.
I have endgame-level toons of every class, I feel all classes have their strengths and weaknesses. There are 4 I've marked as my "Mains" however. I put all in the "godly" tier and these would be: 1) Ranged DPS: Warlock, hands down. If you build it right, this is arguably the strongest / best beast in the game atm. Very rare to be topped in any chart. but can be by #2 below. 2) Melee DPS: Rogue. Again if built right / played with skill. Probably the actual strongest DPS in game. I have more survivability with my Warlock due to having distance vs mobs in content like HC VoS or Demo, so have been leaning that way more frequently these days. I'd say best class probably for solo content for sure. 3) Best Healer: I think pretty much everyone agrees here there is no competing with Cleric for healing. Warlock being more fun for some, and coming in at 2nd place there for healer. 4) Best tank: Fighter, with the caveat that I just find it so much more fun to play than the wet-noodle hitting Paladin. Both tanks are in 60k+ range and with proper gear. Paladin has even more survivability with amazing shields, but I just don't find I need it with 1 million + HP, capped defense, awareness, and high other stats on Fighter. The rest I ranked in various ways, with only Barbarian tank as bad (I'm sorry I tried it but un-made the build, it just is a joke compared to the other options and yes i know some people pull it off and pull it off well. They would undoubtedly do so even better/ easier if they played a better tank class) . But another important consideration is simply, what do you think is fun to play. I like the variety available because for me the answer changes at times. I like my wizard at times for things like insu for example, because the stakes are low and the crowd control is great and it can just be fun to dork around with. Or the absurdity of barbarian when he/she enrages and just goes nuts. Not strictly the most effective, but just a hell of a lot of fun to play. And I personally love the warden ranger build, but only begrudgingly use hunter for single target. Others feels that hunter is the only way, is the meta. Blarg. I think rangers are definitely average or even good, but I don't really ever see them top the charts. Placing them at the Godly rank is silly IMO. And then there are those that may be strong, but OMG just so boring to play. Like Cleric DPS for me. I was so glad when I realized that toon would actually be useful if I reworked for a pure healer build. Because just standing there and bug zapping is a snorefest for me.
List is sort of bogus. As an end game ranger I have played with alot ofnthe top high dps players, and they aren't all rangers. I have seen many top high dps people as rangers, rogues, warlocks, barbs,fighters and even a bard. Being a ranger class alone doesn't make you godly dps.
@UCDH6Rk1pz-hFatZNB6Mkk6w the video mentioned AoE and ST for all 3 classes. The best HRs I know (which seem likely to be the biggest damage dealing HRs on PS4) cant come within 30 million of the best TRs and SWs in VoS which is mostly AoE. Not sure how HRs would be considered better AoE dealers against these 2 classes unless maybe scaled content is being used as the basis instead of VoS.
His basing it on Single Target boss fights. SW and TR, can clear ads faster than Rangers so paingiver would be higher, cause they can deal with more targets at once.

Wood elf, Half Orc, Dragonborn, Aasimar, Sun Elf. Any race that gives a bonus to Power, Crit strike, Crit sev, and outgoing healing. Action point gain is also good
STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH WARLOCK DPS . Im 55k ilvl GF and we did HC Bel . I was 700k and the Warlock was 11 million. Seen multiple times when Warlock DPS is beyond OP. I made one and took his item lvl to around 30k... copy paste a build from youtube and i was Topping DPS Charts no matter where i went...and of top of that i was HEALING for Millions even when my Build was for DPS i had a feat -which still dont understand- which not only made me hit like a Truck but Do lots of Dots Healings...7 million healing on Master of the Hunt- with a Feytouch Rank 13 ;).... so yeah i believe Warlock is UBBER OP
I believe most dps is subjective to the player. I have mained warlock dps and i can tell you its dps is awesome. Before rework i played templock and that was insane. ALWAYS led in healing while top 3 in dps not matter what activity. After rework both sides took a hit, but are still way above avg IMO. With the right player dps side can hang with top dps’ers of any class. Player is 100% critical. I routinely out dps IL’s 10k above me because not many players truely understand their build and synergizing it correctly. A couple months ago when i played last 2 guys on locks invited me to group. We just did random stuff. I sat back and watched and laughed hard. They were 7-10k higher than me and had no clue. They would spend 10-15 seconds fighting 1 group together and i would go to next group and 1 hit them all instantly. Neither one had a single power correct or ant sort of solid ratation. Point is player matters more than toon every time.
Have you noticed much difference with the new mod coming in or are the classes pretty much static at this time? I have a cleric healer but really enjoy playing my pally heals as you have a visual of how much cushion you have on your team before you have to shield them back up again.

They removed LifeSteal, this D&D feature. As they removed Recovery, a D&D feature too. Strange than WOTC did not revoke their rights to use the D&D name yet.

Looking at current loadouts, its safe to say this list need to be remade. There is no way rogue should be in middle in my opinion, their ability to proc BoA, their daily and simpleness, make them easy S-tier, Dps wizard should also be put minimum in average ( I would put them in good after leveling mine to endgame) above the barb because of their ability to proc BoA and ease of use. Fighter tank is minimum good, since day one our guild mate solo tank CoK easily with that class. Clearic healer compared to other heal should be S tier, nothing come close.
I'm researching what happened because my last play was 2018 and I hopped on my paladin tank and see that there no more temp hp.. I die so damn easily... the block has changed completely. There's no more 3 way skill trees.. man what a difference. My op used to deal tons of dmg as a tank and could heal the team with its offensive ultimate. So confusing now
you done a great job here. Iam a new player. unfortunately i have the most fun with the trauma Wizard. Love the mechanik and hit response. Bard is fun as well but playing him as main. For how many hours can you do the playing on your lute, fast and without a lot of errors doing so. Well ofc you could use the macro technique but i refuse that^^
Don't listen to this guy. 1. Cleric is best healer and top 3 dps with minimal effort. 2. Tank is by far the most important class and is probably the easiest to gear up since you will never have to wait to get into a dungeon.

I've tried every class but I'm loyal to my rogue. I just got the mirage weapons and I'm loving it. It's just a fun class to play and the stealth ability is definitely a lifesaver when I need it.

I main ranger and have for 5-6 years. I've played every class so I'm not just like I haven't played any other one. But back in the day I had an insane build of just power and life steal and I was a tank DPS with my ranger and that's how I got all the titles that are impossible to get these days as ranger and as well of knowing nothing about rangers build still score number 1. I know a lot about my build and I'm always carrying for DPS like uncontested. I've even out ranked 50k rangers and every other class but I do remember being out ranked by a DPS cleric so it is true they can be better. But also rouges all rouge players are Aholes, I've never met a nice person who mains a rouge. Rangers are just nicer people.
You know what? I don't think I have encountered a nice rogue either come to think of it. Probably more than half the bitches I have on ignore are rogues. I have seen some stupid asshole clerics and healer paladins too, the ones who don't heal at all and run way ahead of everyone in a dungeon/skirmish.

En mi opinión lo mejor es escoger la clase cuya jugabilidad más nos guste: melee, ranged, magia, físico, con escudo, sin, etc y sacarle el máximo partido optimizando y aprendiendo bien como se usa. Actualmente hay un equilibrio bastante bueno entre casi todas las clases. Recordad que van sufriendo cambios y balanceos con el tiempo. I wish I understand the games demands for hidden stats like bolster for scaling. Does the games "mobs" assume your bolster is at 100%/100% from the start or is their a gradual increase of mobs difficulty to take bolster into account. Getting 30/30% isn't hard but getting beyond 50/50% is a considerable time investment. Good work on the video. Paladins is Godly tier for tanking. SAD that major armor mods are useless now since on ps4 they still require a minimum level of 35 and every item is now max at 20.

I don't know if that's video worthy but could you explain what goes into the 50% of a stat and what goes into the 40% , please? I've been playing for 3-4 months and this is still confusing to me.
For Xbox it isn't that bad, it certainly takes time to get used to a controller but you could simply plug in a mouse and keyboard, only problem I have with Xbox version is getting into random Q's especially if you a DPS, tanks and heals get in a lot quicker than DPS characters and I've waited as long as 2 hours as still couldn't get a dungeon

Honestly i just started playing again, since i last played 2019, not long ago and i’m in love with my Thaumaturge. Hits like a truck and i’m out dpsing people 20k item level above me with proper rotations, my arcanist however i kind of fell out of love for, it just doesnt hit for shit. Plenty of CC but what does that matter if nothing dies.
i was highest dps character and then highest defense/health control wizard with 2nd dps. Went from crit to tank mage after tiamat dropped.
i caught blood gems early in xbox when they couldn’t be used and most didn’t know what to do with them so I bought them up for cheap and sold them later for 1mill
ended up maxing out my astral gems because of it early on which made it f2p for me by luck
Having played this game for many years and seen how classes can go from being the most awesome DPS to being specifically ignored for group play (Seriously... Rogue went through a period around Mod 14/15 where you would get insta-booted in group play... in the days before Random Queues) to back round to being great again...I would suggest always picking a class that you enjoy playing rather than based on the rather flimsy state of "What's best!" cos that will change... not might... WILL.
That way, even if you aren't topping the leader boards, you will still be having fun playing the game. Also have a secondary character that is quite different to your main. That way you'll have the option of variety...
I agree with your comment 100%. When I started playing my HR was my favorite to play, but people would leave the party when they saw an HR or 2 in the group. It was really frustrating, but I stuck with it and still love playing the HR. I loved my OP too and never had a problem staying in a party because everyone needed a tank...but, again, the HR was my fave so I just found parties within my guild until people realized the HR wasn't such a drain on a party. If you don't enjoy playing your character, why play at all?
Agreed. Whenever I get into a new MMO, I'll watch videos like this to either get an idea of how each class plays (and looks while doing it), as well as help me choose if I'm having trouble deciding between a couple. Being meta isn't the end all be all, but it helps seeing where they stack.

I’m a new player that plays on Xbox. I started as a fighter, but the whole block mechanic is kind of awkward with a controller. I decided to switch to Rogue, and dodging is much easier to do.
I play as Fighter since 2015 because the class was (and still is) very versatile, the ol' Tactician paragon memories, does nice damage and can tank very well. Fighters might be not the best class, but it's the class I like the most and I have fun playing.

I enjoy the Fighter, especially since the switch gave it a proper DPS Paragon. When I first started playing it annoyed me that the only options for "Fighter" were "TANK" Guardian Fighter and "LUNATIC" Great Weapon Fighter...
I have one I sometimes use for group play when people need a Tank... my problem is that I don't play it often enough and still try to TAB Mark targets for Aggro... d'oh!

The fighter has been shit since they took away their brutal atwill and gave it to "barbarians". They don't do enough damage to be top DPS and they're too fragile to be top tanks. I used to love them, my first character ever was a fighter, but now I hate them. They're crap.

Honestly while I can understand why bard may be hard for someone to pick up, it was the first class I ever played on Neverwinter and I absolutely love it. Takes some getting used to especially with playing the songs but if you stack stuff right a group of enemies will be down in five seconds maximum. I can't speak for healer, only dps

Made a ranger Hunter as my first toon and she’s so good to play, I’ve tried various toons too to see if any others could make me switch full time and it hasn’t happened. She’s damn reliable in VOS and other Qs too
That was my first also, it's awesome but it's not good to learn on lol for someone brand new. I ended up with a Rogue for my main.
@@kittywampusdrums4963 yeah I can totally see why, I got a hard upto 20, yesterday, update dropped Tuesday for me on Xbox and I really enjoy playing the bard dps. The songs are fiddly but it has a play style similar to rogue and warlock, like a combo of the two.

I first started playing this game in November 2019 and my first toon who is still my main toon is my Hunter Ranger. I miss the uncapped power he had before the combat rework of this past January cut everyone's balls off and made single dot minions the most deadly mobs of dungeons/skirmishes AND I miss being able to solo dungeons like Malabog/Valindra's Tower/Castle Never without dying. He always was a glass cannon and still is and will always be my main and favorite to use. I never did get to try VOS/Zariel's Challenge/Tomm, I'm a pure solo guildless player and I only play with one other person unless I queue up for one of the once easier dungeons.

Players that think they are better than you, bla bla bla... With this mod i was thinking to restart a new character without thinking to the stats, or BiS race, class or whatever... I honestly enjoy the hard heals … especially going the gambler route because I like the gamble of potential-buffs when I stack the buffs correctly it’s really enjoyable for me
Admittedly my paladin did feel a little rough when i first hit 20, but now that i have decent stats and a competant enough healer companion it's been pretty good to me, I always pick the shield style healers if given the choice irregardless of how broken or bad they are.

About Wizard- i met 2/3 wizard who really made very good DPS, not sure how- but I suppose Macro users.
I personally think Rouge is the best PVP-DPS. probably u can try yourself on Preview and maxed everything there check the stats and compared the damage done. I'm pretty sure @Aragon do his studies/Numbers before made the video publicly. I think u rank by what u saw not by the numbers. I trust his judgment since he always do the numbers mostly on his video :D
i figured so far for my wizard, to now the contend you running well, helps a lot. Cuz u must switch spells a lot. Macros like wows shift:mod macros, wo switch the spell wenn clicking and then fires would increase the output overall a lot. i dont have one of those and i can see in the end, that i have done wrong decisions.
Every Rogue I see at endgame runs spends most of the time dead.

I dont know about other classes, but since i main warlock and havent played any other classes even a single minute, i want to say that:
- My curse consuming build which im playing since 2017 with Parting Blasphemy and Double Scorch has only 1 disadvantage which is a BIG FAULT MADE BY DEVS! Cooldown of Curse Bite, my encounter power, CANNOT be reduced at all, no matter which feat u pick. When the tooltip says "blah-blah-blah reduces your encounter cooldowns by blah-blah-blah", its not true at all. People say thats just because this encounter power has charges, but fucking sake, i dont care about it since there is no information about exceptions from devs ingame. And also this encounter power DOES NOT affected by Sniper perk from rings, so, -6% potential damage already (Same for DOT from Hellfire Ring). I love this build, most of the time i deal massive damage, but cmon, i cant compete with other DPS classes just because i already lost some damage % because of what i said above. Its not my fault and i could never guess such build has problems due to bad coding maybe?
then never try wizard, it has so much shit coding and/or buggs, that if they just fixed 30% of them, the class would actualy compete at the top atm^^
The entier wizard class is currently balanced around it BEING BUGGED and not working, and when you get to the high end with maxed out stats, it actualy does compete with the FotM while 90% of it's kit not working propperly. But unbalance it's stats, and it does less dps than a good healer/tank...
I have to strongly disagree with your ranking of the rogue, every time I play with a top tier rogue they’re leaves ahead of the competition this even in scaled content. In vos they’re always top with the HR. And I think it doesn’t make sense for it to be below a cleric dps, when rogue is probably top 2 aoe damage dealers in the game, and is actually really good with boss fights whereas u stated the Ceric is really only good in ST. If you do a good rotation with rogue you can get massive burst dps and debuff the enemies for the whole team.
Agree. Melee rouge is top notch when it comes to ST. Those 3 burst st skills can't outplayed by any other class. Situational on aoe but it is still burst damage. Always on the top of the paingivers

I feel my wizard is especially sensitive to having good stats/gear. I suspect that for the most part, all of the classes can do well with good gear and player experience. I do seem to hear consistently things like...barbs aren't great tanks (for the most part), warlocks aren't the best healers, etc etc.
Cap. Warlocks Dps are gods when built right. For both aoe and single target. Mostly aoe with high damage though. Just apply curse then pull the curse. Also using the “when curse leaves enemies they take damage” adds loads of damage

@@KingChibbi late reply but after playing a warlock fresh for mod 22, i can confirm at 40k item level i am out dpsing 50k dps classes, i.e tiamat trial i did 40mil damage to the 2nd highests 32mil
Bard is really nice in AoE... Fully charged contre, into duet right away, then into volti... using jump to not dash. Hard to beat in AoE, because they can stack. Bard heals so far are good till really high damage across all members of the group, where cleric excells at healing across the board... to the point it can get boring because they do so well at healing. Cleric dps is mediocre if you can't grasp balance. My 52k fighter tank walks through VoS. Barb is at least good dps. Pally needs a dps class - maybe choose 2 of the 3... but no dps class for pally is a major draw back. Ofc these are just my opinions from the classes I have invested a decent amount of time on. I've always wanted to have a tier list in this game because of how competetive I am. I really like it. Look forward to seeing updates to it as time goes on and changes are made. Would be curious if you would consider making a tier list for super end game play on the classes. I do think some of them would change potentially. Biggest one being the rogue going higher. I can't tell you how many rogues are wanted in VoS because of their AoE getting forced combat advantage and obliterating everything!

This is why you play the class you enjoy the best and not the one that is OP at the time. I've seen several nerfs/buffs to the classes over the years with each one getting their turn as the broken OP class. This is done intentionally so as a to encourage what is a tiny player base to keep spending money to 'win' (i.e. get the best numbers at the end of content). The problem this has on the game is that it leads to an imbalance of dps classes. So right now for example, the broken OP class is the Rogue and this is why they make up 60% of the dps classes out there. It used to be the GWF (Barb), Lock before that and Wizard before that. If you pick a class based purely on it's damage output, you will feel like leaving the game when that nerf hammer comes crashing down and it's certain too sooner or later
This is what you have to understand about the way this game works and always has done. It's a F2P game with barely 2k players logging on each day. There's less than 500 players actually playing at any given time. They need to get their money from somewhere and this is the pay to winners. In order to keep them spending money, they have to constantly buff/nerf the gear/classes. This is why there will always be a crazy broken OP class and a class that is substantially weaker than the others
The rogue is only average? LMAO. Fighter and cleric are better? That absolutely absurd. I can't remember the last time any of those with similar IL were able to out DPS my rogue. The warlock and ranger have once in a great while nut not on a steady basis.
Maybe not on steady basis, but just like Aragon mentioned - Ranger can be hard to play. It highly rewards good players that are familiar with it. I think a good Ranger will always do more than Rogue.
As a warlock who doesnt use any "damage over time" and still master to get first place almost everytime, I am feeling attacked. But good video!
alot of the warlock kit will just give you dot dmg loaded into correct play, it is also realy ennoying, since if you ever try a reflect mechanic, you will suddenly realise how much dot dps the lock has. It is just that by the time dots would matter, most things are dead...

Started on this game nearly two years ago as a Hunter Ranger which is still my main class and I am still a newb. It is the Ranger's duty to pull aggro from any and all party members and to get killed as quickly as possible for the glory. Remember, upon dying you must get angry at the game and direct your anger towards your mouse and keyboard in physical form. God damn the combat rework to hell, I will never accept it.
I suppose it is fitting that the Rogue is good for solo content.
The stealth ability has gotten me out of a few pinches by being able to disengage for a few moments to catch my breath, but I would imagine that it would piss people off if I did that as a group :D

I think this game need to diversify more on the role than just tank, healer & dps. Maybe drop in something like support which specialize in CC. I know D&D bard is more well known for their CC than dps. Control wizard is the master of CC beside dps.
Of all classes I played I enjoy the warlock the most. I don't know why ppl say warlocks are bad. The time is gone mod 16 where they wasn't that good. Now they put a lot of dmg in trials and dungeons
Just started playing on PS4. chose tiefling barbarian. I'm doing okay so far. I think my experience with both online MMOs and couch co-op games like the original dungeons and dragons game, Champions or norrath and baulders gate and Diablo 3 have helped me out alot
And same with the Bard. The bard healer wasn’t designed for casual and or reactive healing that we are all used to. Everything the bard does is proactive. It’s amazing in teams again that are good at what they do. And the bard offers upwards of 40% extra damage to these teams. You do everything ahead of time. Store a big heal for when it’s needed. Bind the big heal. And read the situation accordingly to align your daily to cast the big heal if needed. Otherwise you keep the hot active, and the combat heal song active, and the emergency 50% heal active. All not linked for the extra 15% extra dps. Want more dps? Use the fire song. Equip the feature for more speed. Now I can be incredibly about the two comments I left here. But again. My opinion. My experiences. I only know what I know
I remember happier days of premiere of Neverwinter online when you not only could easily be a tank 'Great Weapon Fighter" (known now as tank) but it was most viable 'siphon tank' excelling at 1vGroup fights being able to heal themselves quicker than damage was dealt to them through middle-class armor.
Sadly: that was gone already around Paladin came out.
Still it was on and off possibility to tank in this class. Now? I know your debacles are really reliable and I swear I am very fond of your hard work but even with this vid being 11months old I guess Barb Tank is still the worst class to go as... this was my experience 14 months ago (when I've tried to 'return to the game'). Sad as it was my main character - a jokingly done as Woodelf girl with a Giant Sword. I recall the times I was able to be MVP of the Castle Neverwinter raids once they were still new thing as a weird and unconventional tank that still held 2nd-3rd DPS and could CC pretty well - that turned into weirdly unreliable, rather squishy and very poor at CC tank that I would kick out of party myself >_<
Oh well... last time I've checked the game there were no Bards and I was awaiting this class since forever, so time to check (my 14th character!)
PS: I recall once Sharrandar (old) 1st came and Ranger became a thing I was annoying people around in PVP to 9th heaven with some shenanigans. With proper use of terrain and blind spots you could wipe enemies even 1 v 3 and some skills were so OP they could half HP of tanks if used properly. not to mention Close combat experts which were whole other story (I was Ranged Ranger, still annoying for enemies I admit XD). I still remember people complaining that it should be nerfed ASAP and enemies leaving pvp matches 2 min in as I was fragging the 'out of nowhere' on capture points 2-3 at a time.... oh, nostalgia. Funny to hear Rangers are still strong now though :D
If you’re making a single target rogue as an assassin instead of a whisperknife that’s why you’re struggling. Shadow strike, vengeance pursuit & shadowy disappearance & hateful knives with a shadow of demise feat. Use disheartening strike like a debuffer & either shuriken or cloud of steal. Equip buffs that buff ranged damage at close range. The entire encounter rotation can be executed in a shadow of demise without breaking invisibility. I don’t understand why players are still pushing singular builds for each paragon or excluding paragons entirely without understanding them... the rotation order (with no daily) btw is DS, invis, ST, VP(Mark), SD, VP(strike), CoS or Shuriken. If your daily is full HK replaces SD.
yup that can work, but you still get do not get as much damage as the assassin due to it's bleed on duelist and the magnitude of gloaming
@@Aragon- yeah that doesn’t make up for all the extra damage buffs bud. Additionally being ranged improves survivability in a boss fight. I mean you have 10% damage from DS, 5% from ST, 7% from the ranged attack damage buff feat (not on atm & can’t rememberthe name off the top of my head). Additionally advantageous position provides CA after leaving stealth vengeance pursuit when the strike is triggered while invis hits almost as hard as a daily. I mean have I given enough examples of how these buffs outweigh a bleed effect that could be somewhat substituted with poison & a single at will? The cauldron coupled with the staff of flowers for example would completely negate the comparative benefits of assassin. Don’t forget too all the whisperknife feat damage buffs while in stealth are active on every encounter hit. There is no other rouge encounter rotation that can be entirely executed in stealth, only breaking stealth on the final strike. No other rotation has that capability.
@@Aragon- I really get into this side of the game. I was taught how to design builds on pc. It’s a common talent on pc but unfortunately console players, or Sony at least anyway, never had to learn that skill because they always were able to rely on the hard work & creativity of pc players. It’s my biggest gripe regarding delayed releases for console. However I’ve kept up the practice. However I will admit another downside to console is that we can’t do the things pc players can do to test builds like collecting the raw attack data & converting it into spreadsheets like you do. So I’d actually be really interested to have a discussion about builds & share some of the ones that I’ve designed (I have about 4 or 5 wizard builds for example) with you so you can test them if you want. I try to get creative & I design my toons to match characters from other things like dc, x-men, Fairy Tail & naruto. I have 18toons. Each are a unique build designed specifically to suit the fighting styles of that character. I try to make the game bend to the character I’m designing. I feel if everyone chases the same build or same class based on pc advice it causes havoc in the console community & inflates market values. I don’t know if you realise but the console community, as I said earlier, hasn’t been trained, like pc players have, to design builds & so I imagine on pc when you say 1 thing is the best you still get a fair amount of the community who seek alternatives anyway however on console you drop a vid saying one thing is the best & it’s taken as gospel & they all flock to the advice which kills creativity & inflates the market making it harder for new players to find a solid footing in the game & new players are the lifeblood of this game atm. Ever since ravenloft it’s crucial we nurture those new players as a community in every way possible to ensure the longevity of a game we have all invested so much in. I feel if you presented options instead of reducing everything to a primary option you would promote creative gameplay & lower market pressure. Both of these things would go a long way to encouraging new players. I’m a huge fan of your channel because of your passion for builds but I would love to see a move away from ranking tools & a move towards creative design advice & options. You have the ability & resources to teach console players the pc skill of build design & to promote & encourage it. The amount of good it would do for console would be immeasurable. However take all this with a grain of salt. It’s your channel & you need to do you. I get that. I’m more wanting you to understand where my head is at when I comment the way I do. I don’t want you to think I’m challenging your ideas as an act of disrespect. It’s quite the opposite in fact. I’m a big fan. But I do hope you take what I’ve said into consideration. Thank you for the work you do. I understand the time investment, passion & effort that goes into it. I’m passionate about the game not disrespectful of the contribution you make to the community 😊

@@DOC_NO I was doing Neverwinter pvp content there for a while. But cryptic doesn’t support console youtube or twitch streamers & content providers. They have never been fully committed to staying with console so they persist in dropping content to pc early in order to ensure the most successful content providers are all pc players. Some console players are Facebook admins for various groups but that’s about as far as cryptic will go for console. Basically I’d drop my skeleton builds for each various classes only to have those skeletons adapted by a pc players channel in the next mod before I get a chance on Sony to even glimpse what’s available or test anything. There’s no point in putting content out to gain an audience I’ll only lose to a pc channel in the following mod. If you want to see my builds join a guild in the Crimson Shadow Legion alliance on Sony. If you’re in my alliance I’ll take the time to help you design a build you want, built around what abilities you enjoy using or a theme. We have a few themed guilds including themes like Marvel, DC, Naruto, Fairy Tail & Star Wars as a recent addition with the release of the bard. pretty good analysis, in my opinion, since i'm more of an explorer, i categorize the classes according to how easy they can run solo content or how helpful they are on a dungeon, or a raid.

in a dungeon i find Paladins and warlocks to be really useful either as dps, tank or healing, makes easier for a party to survive, and even when i put them last, in a dungeon, i find wizards AOE attacks and Bards buffs really helpful, bot not of mayor impact.

Although Raids tend to be very specialized, and have different needs on class balance to be completed, also different modes, different needs.

The only thing that really irritates me I feel all classes are really viable for one….. ppl just don’t play the game correctly (quick queues) it’s just kinda annoying when dps players say omg where we’re the heals (when you ran in battle before a tank and get smacked by every mob in sight) I just feel if everyone plays there role correctly any content should be (challenging I’m sure) but easy to clear. If we’re on a boss and everyone still smacking the boss when there is like 50 adds on the field… lowering the bosses health will just add more adds… speed runs when everyone is dying is kinda boring
When I’m healing and a dps jumps out first, I just let the dps die, and let them use their stones and scrolls. If the glass canons who don’t have awareness at 50% get killed cause they want to be 1sT iN dAmAgE, I let them. 😂

I have been doing the Bel fights, and every time I have played them, Barbs are always the top DPS chars in those fights. I love that you did this video, but I still have to wonder if its more skill of the player then the class its self that makes all the difference.
That is more of a who your playing with and what content your doing. Barbs get a lot of their damage from running ahead of the group and being first to damage things. This is why when your in end game content that is less about hitting things first and more about doing damage your going to see higher numbers from the other classes. In other words if your doing Bel then your still at the point of the game that being mobile is a better dps stat than being better at damage. In trials and boss fights barbs will see lower dps scores on those fights. This is why your experience right now isn't going to be the same as an end game player. FYI, I play all classes at end game and have finished vos/tomm/zcm (minus bard, still work in progress) and so I can say that most of the classes are fairly well balanced on dps but there are groupings on dps for all classes. Some require specific builds to do well in end game so that will change where some players see their class ranked. Some of what he ranked is right in my opinion and some of it is wrong.
I'll always play gwf. Picked him back in 2013 and haven't switched at all. Fun class
No I run the rogue and I can destroy any 4 star boss with three hits regardless of how many 1 stars or 2 stars are helping it , I disagree with what use said , yes it's true that stealth is good for evading damage ,however it truly shines when used to get past smaller enemies and go straight for the prize leveling the battlefields tougher targets first and then using regular attacks to clean up what's left. For those reasons I do believe the rogue should be much higher on the list, as I've seen I usually lead any dungeon or group fight I've been in and I think that means that the rogue indeed has a great potential for both evasion tactics and damage output

Ranger warden is no1 for AOE dps. Surprised to not see many people playing it.
For healer I'd say warlock can be worse than paladin depending on map. Most of their healing come from the green circle on the ground so limits team's movement. For VOS every warlock healer I met have been horrible esp for final boss where there's blackhole that moves you around. Paladin actually have a better time there if they just time divine shelter correctly and makes it that most shields are used before refreshing.
Best toons in neverwinter are those powered by Visa, and sponsored by mommy and daddy. This game is unlike 5-6 years ago. It is now P2W.

Though only class I've played so far, I absolutely lave the Paladin; though this video has made me consider making a Ranger character also.
My Ranking DPS being a top tier in my class: 1. Cleric (single target) 2. Rogues (AoE & Single) 3. Fighters (Based on Skill) 3. Rangers/Warlocks (AoE & Single) 4. Barbies 5. Bards
Although, I do think... Each class has an specific stat they must focus to boost their DMG... For instance Locks benefit greatly from high CA due to their NMNP class skill from ANY angle similarly to Rogues. Which is ridiculously hard to cap unlike Rangers that have s higher innate CA. Just food for thought.
I only play a Wizard, and I have to work sooooo hard to be a relevant dps in any content. I’m literally 54k and I get out dps but like 30k HR’s sometimes, it’s so dumb - we need wizard bufffeedddddddd

Wiz goes from no scaling/dmg and hits the threashold of daily spamming, and suddenly it can do deecent dmg (still outpaced by pretty much everyone else at the same skill/geare lvl), but just fixing the buggs the class has, would make it compedative (in high end play) with other dps. Problem is that wiz has been bugged out the ass since beta, and even alot of thous buggs are still plagueing the class...

lol. Single target dps is usually a lot more valued that aoe. And yes as I said there will always be situations where one class will be better at something than another.

With the sorcerer and bard it was very easy and with the magician .. even with his daily strength I didn't even scratch two lousy archers. The mage desperately needs a damage buff !!! -_-
In my opinion, the ranger is not a very good class for SOLO players like myself, just the start of it can be a bit of a struggle, considering reworks in stats and combat, you can deck out your level 1 with a mythic artifact and max enchantments all you want, but your still going to get smacked around combat when you get surrounded. Unlike the old mods, where if you did deck out your new character…you could speed run the whole campaign in just a few hours and be level 60. Ranger are bomb ass fighters, just not for solo players who are just starting out.
As a end game warlock healer you are very right our only never miss heal is vamperic embrace which is also our cleans but I've played warlock for years now so I am stuck in my ways

As a fighter tank I've found myself to always struggle to keep up with a Paladin dps but when it comes down to the single target bosses I'm constantly in control. And one of its attacks will always put you at the top of the threat list which I like alot.
All tanks have the same ability to jump to the top of the threat list and paladin have the best power for that with a range of 80 and you can cast it 5 times in a row, with a divinity pool.
i think they did paladin dirty a bit sins in neverwinter nights paladin was support puffer and tank with decent DPS, so hes roles should be support tank/support DPS, not just tank but support tank meaning tank with buffs no need for so many normal tanks better 1tank that actually does 2support roles (tank and buff) while other1 is pure wall self sustaining for party like usual tank like fighters 1role, 2many tank classes that just tank
as a main HR ı can say that HR is Best damage dealer but the downside is that its extremly hard and brain exausting to operate this class

I personally favourite the rogue and play him the best.
It's definitely a personally preference but there are some classes that are lacking.
I have endgame-level toons of every class, I feel all classes have their strengths and weaknesses. There are 4 I've marked as my "Mains" however. I put all in the "godly" tier and these would be:
1) Ranged DPS: Warlock, hands down. If you build it right, this is arguably the strongest / best beast in the game atm. Very rare to be topped in any chart. but can be by #2 below.
2) Melee DPS: Rogue. Again if built right / played with skill. Probably the actual strongest DPS in game. I have more survivability with my Warlock due to having distance vs mobs in content like HC VoS or Demo, so have been leaning that way more frequently these days. I'd say best class probably for solo content for sure.
3) Best Healer: I think pretty much everyone agrees here there is no competing with Cleric for healing. Warlock being more fun for some, and coming in at 2nd place there for healer.
4) Best tank: Fighter, with the caveat that I just find it so much more fun to play than the wet-noodle hitting Paladin. Both tanks are in 60k+ range and with proper gear. Paladin has even more survivability with amazing shields, but I just don't find I need it with 1 million + HP, capped defense, awareness, and high other stats on Fighter.
The rest I ranked in various ways, with only Barbarian tank as bad (I'm sorry I tried it but un-made the build, it just is a joke compared to the other options and yes i know some people pull it off and pull it off well. They would undoubtedly do so even better/ easier if they played a better tank class) .
But another important consideration is simply, what do you think is fun to play. I like the variety available because for me the answer changes at times. I like my wizard at times for things like insu for example, because the stakes are low and the crowd control is great and it can just be fun to dork around with. Or the absurdity of barbarian when he/she enrages and just goes nuts. Not strictly the most effective, but just a hell of a lot of fun to play. And I personally love the warden ranger build, but only begrudgingly use hunter for single target. Others feels that hunter is the only way, is the meta. Blarg. I think rangers are definitely average or even good, but I don't really ever see them top the charts. Placing them at the Godly rank is silly IMO.
And then there are those that may be strong, but OMG just so boring to play. Like Cleric DPS for me. I was so glad when I realized that toon would actually be useful if I reworked for a pure healer build. Because just standing there and bug zapping is a snorefest for me.
This is not about the class, this is how you play. So play what you like.

List is sort of bogus. As an end game ranger I have played with alot ofnthe top high dps players, and they aren't all rangers. I have seen many top high dps people as rangers, rogues, warlocks, barbs,fighters and even a bard. Being a ranger class alone doesn't make you godly dps.
Weird, the best HRs can't even come within 30 million of the best SWs and TRs in VoS. Are you comparing damage of classes in scaled content?

The best HRs I know (which seem likely to be the biggest damage dealing HRs on PS4) cant come within 30 million of the best TRs and SWs in VoS which is mostly AoE. Not sure how HRs would be considered better AoE dealers against these 2 classes unless maybe scaled content is being used as the basis instead of VoS.
His basing it on Single Target boss fights.
SW and TR, can clear ads faster than Rangers so paingiver would be higher, cause they can deal with more targets at once.

Wood elf, Half Orc, Dragonborn, Aasimar, Sun Elf. Any race that gives a bonus to Power, Crit strike, Crit sev, and outgoing healing. Action point gain is also good
STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH WARLOCK DPS . Im 55k ilvl GF and we did HC Bel . I was 700k and the Warlock was 11 million. Seen multiple times when Warlock DPS is beyond OP. I made one and took his item lvl to around 30k... copy paste a build from youtube and i was Topping DPS Charts no matter where i went...and of top of that i was HEALING for Millions even when my Build was for DPS i had a feat -which still dont understand- which not only made me hit like a Truck but Do lots of Dots Healings...7 million healing on Master of the Hunt- with a Feytouch Rank 13 ;).... so yeah i believe Warlock is UBBER OP
Warlock is on similar lvl with other classes it is not OP, but definetly can suprise with DPS.
I believe most dps is subjective to the player. I have mained warlock dps and i can tell you its dps is awesome. Before rework i played templock and that was insane. ALWAYS led in healing while top 3 in dps not matter what activity. After rework both sides took a hit, but are still way above avg IMO. With the right player dps side can hang with top dps’ers of any class. Player is 100% critical. I routinely out dps IL’s 10k above me because not many players truely understand their build and synergizing it correctly. A couple months ago when i played last 2 guys on locks invited me to group. We just did random stuff. I sat back and watched and laughed hard. They were 7-10k higher than me and had no clue. They would spend 10-15 seconds fighting 1 group together and i would go to next group and 1 hit them all instantly. Neither one had a single power correct or ant sort of solid ratation. Point is player matters more than toon every time.
Have you noticed much difference with the new mod coming in or are the classes pretty much static at this time? I have a cleric healer but really enjoy playing my pally heals as you have a visual of how much cushion you have on your team before you have to shield them back up again.

I remember when Warlock was the best Healer by far. In Mod 4! They soon nerfed that Lifesteal healing.

They removed LifeSteal, this D&D feature. As they removed Recovery, a D&D feature too. Strange than WOTC did not revoke their rights to use the D&D name yet.

And Clerics not getting damage bonus from WIS, as they used to before (IIRC) mod 16.
But, most of all, I cannot get round DEX not giving a bonus to Armour Class/Deflection and Missile Hit.

Looking at current loadouts, its safe to say this list need to be remade. There is no way rogue should be in middle in my opinion, their ability to proc BoA, their daily and simpleness, make them easy S-tier, Dps wizard should also be put minimum in average ( I would put them in good after leveling mine to endgame) above the barb because of their ability to proc BoA and ease of use. Fighter tank is minimum good, since day one our guild mate solo tank CoK easily with that class. Clearic healer compared to other heal should be S tier, nothing come close.

I'm researching what happened because my last play was 2018 and I hopped on my paladin tank and see that there no more temp hp.. I die so damn easily... the block has changed completely. There's no more 3 way skill trees.. man what a difference. My op used to deal tons of dmg as a tank and could heal the team with its offensive ultimate. So confusing now
yeah, things changed a lot. I miss all that temp Hp too and the protection bubble

you done a great job here. Iam a new player. unfortunately i have the most fun with the trauma Wizard. Love the mechanik and hit response. Bard is fun as well but playing him as main. For how many hours can you do the playing on your lute, fast and without a lot of errors doing so. Well ofc you could use the macro technique but i refuse that^^

1. Cleric is best healer and top 3 dps with minimal effort.
2. Tank is by far the most important class and is probably the easiest to gear up since you will never have to wait to get into a dungeon.

I've tried every class but I'm loyal to my rogue. I just got the mirage weapons and I'm loving it. It's just a fun class to play and the stealth ability is definitely a lifesaver when I need it.

I main ranger and have for 5-6 years. I've played every class so I'm not just like I haven't played any other one. But back in the day I had an insane build of just power and life steal and I was a tank DPS with my ranger and that's how I got all the titles that are impossible to get these days as ranger and as well of knowing nothing about rangers build still score number 1. I know a lot about my build and I'm always carrying for DPS like uncontested. I've even out ranked 50k rangers and every other class but I do remember being out ranked by a DPS cleric so it is true they can be better. But also rouges all rouge players are Aholes, I've never met a nice person who mains a rouge. Rangers are just nicer people.
You know what? I don't think I have encountered a nice rogue either come to think of it. Probably more than half the bitches I have on ignore are rogues. I have seen some stupid asshole clerics and healer paladins too, the ones who don't heal at all and run way ahead of everyone in a dungeon/skirmish.

Hola. Está bien tener un ranking de referencia y tener una visión general de las clases. En mi opinión lo mejor es escoger la clase cuya jugabilidad más nos guste: melee, ranged, magia, físico, con escudo, sin, etc y sacarle el máximo partido optimizando y aprendiendo bien como se usa. Actualmente hay un equilibrio bastante bueno entre casi todas las clases. Recordad que van sufriendo cambios y balanceos con el tiempo. Buena info aunque seguro que hay diversas opiniones respecto al tema. Gracias. Saludos

I wish I understand the games demands for hidden stats like bolster for scaling. Does the games "mobs" assume your bolster is at 100%/100% from the start or is their a gradual increase of mobs difficulty to take bolster into account. Getting 30/30% isn't hard but getting beyond 50/50% is a considerable time investment.
Good work on the video. Paladins is Godly tier for tanking. SAD that major armor mods are useless now since on ps4 they still require a minimum level of 35 and every item is now max at 20.

they change pretty often so idk what is best and worst.. unlesss its guardian fighter who is ruined beyond imagination and only chaos gods know when it will be fixed :D

Thank you! I have a ranger. It is very good, has high damage, very engaging because you can dash to and dash away from the enemy. You can be full range or melee or both. I like my ranger. But my main is TR.
I agree much with list. I Played a little all classes. single target i say ranger is best dps. For Aoe i might put rogue or barb on top :D

I've been playing for 3-4 months and this is still confusing to me.
anything that gives +% to a stat adds to the 40%, and the other 50% comes from your ratings, the base number stats

For Xbox it isn't that bad, it certainly takes time to get used to a controller but you could simply plug in a mouse and keyboard, only problem I have with Xbox version is getting into random Q's especially if you a DPS, tanks and heals get in a lot quicker than DPS characters and I've waited as long as 2 hours as still couldn't get a dungeon
