A man who lived life on his terms, speaking about another person who spent her life on her terms. BR Ishara is so candid in his interview. Parveen Babi was a super glamorous heroine. There has never been nor will ever be another Parveen Babi.

The interviewer is bad - keeps asking the same questions over and over again, dragging the interview. BR Ishara answers are to the point and sensible.

How can you not admire parveen Babi
She was the most stunningly beautiful Bollywood Gift to the cinema
Many took advantage of her innocent mind and beauty
    Used and abused her
Such a very sad tragic of her life at the end
She was everything that Bollywood lacks today

He is right .I think she was very open minded aur relationship me stability aur koi family support na hone ki waja se ye suffer kiya. The difference between Zeenat and Parveen is that Zeenat always wanted to get married and settle down .Her marriage was not successful but she got children and because of that she survived .

Parveen Babi was much ahead of her time ... even current sirens are nothing compared to her. Just see her close up face in "My Name is Anthony Gonsalves" song!! And her belly swings too! Mind blowing. But what a sad life and sad ending.

To the crtics who say she wasn't a good actor, producers weren't fools to cast her in big budget films with big male actors of that time if she didn't have talent. She was a bankable actor of her time, and big producers wanted her in their films. If she's on screen she overshadows everyone. One thing i'll say is that she didn't have full fledged characters to play like other actresses, like hema malini in seeta-geeta or rekha in khubsurat, umrao jaan etc. Or zeenat aman in khun bhari mang but she shone in the small roles that she has played. In namak halal she completely overshadowed smita patil's character even though patil had more screen time , in burning train her role is better than hema malini's. She had such charm that you can't help but notice her as she lights up the screen.

BR Ishara ie Babu Ram Ishara was a man far ahead of times. I happened to listen to his long interview broadcast in two episodes on Vividh Bharti a couple of months ago. A brutally honest man, who had experienced several ups and downs in life, several raw dealings, great conviction and passion about films and clear view of life.

Funny how people here in comment talk whit proud that she brought Western culture into Indian cinema and Westernized it. Instead we should feel ashamed, bcuz they had to bring the rich Indian culture to western cinema and made it Indianized and not otherwise.....

She was not westernised in the sense which you people are making her to be. Actually she wss acting at a time when the world was celebrating women's lib. Our PM was also a lady, Mrs. Gandhi. She played roles according to requirement of the character. Infact she represented the bold Bombay urban girl. Also due to height and personality western attire suited her most. Many young girl used to dressed like her and many of her style became fashion. She did avoided pseudo stereo type aabla nari or Bhartiya nari type roles. And she was accepted by the audiences can be judged by the fact that she costarred in most of her movies with those time super star Big B and all those movies are super duper hits. From Mumbai.
