The 2 greatest AFL Footballer of the modern Era. Steve J in the GF last year after his leg injury was just magnificent. I have been blessed to see my CATS Team win 3 out of 5 flags and I still believe that this unit has another one in the bag!!! To beat the PIES 3 times last year and win the flag in the process was the sweet!!! Although we lost the 2008 GF I am glad since then they have tasted defeated every time we have played them. GO THE MIGHTY CATS!!!
Internationally we suck at it, but sports in countries are usually ingrained in the culture and the hearts of most who reside there. I'm a diehard Western Bulldogs member (the 'diehard' part is being tested at the moment) and the plasticity of clubs such as Melbourne Victory, etc. is never going to win me over. It might provide a nice leap to international fame and stardom for young players but it just won't have the same effect as, say, a Barcelona or Arsenal would.
I suppose soccer never really made its way over, and Aussie Rules took over a bit. Rugby League made it though. Yeah, South Australia is footy-mad, I hear some shocking stories out of Football Park (we call it Moron Park down here because it's hard to go up there without encountering some ferals haha). Yeah, I hope so too, we're not very good but we could upset some teams. The Cats should have it in the bag though, we'll see if they play finals.
