I used these and QC earbuds ii interchangably on a 20h return flight. They perform as expected. Battery life was never a concern. I do feel the earbuds ii had the stronger noise cancelling though.
Nice review. I still have my nc900 and they're great. Audio quality is great for spoken word and very good for music. However, they are very good audio quality, noise cancellation is great and button control is superb. And very very comfortable for me. I'm not bothered about them being foldable or not. The case size isn't that different.
As someone who has the HiFiMan Edition XS for home listening but also for gaming, I honestly find my QC Ultras refreshing to use not only on the go where I have to block out noise, but even at home where I just want something very comfortable, to have a different flavour to my music, even by alternating between "immersive" and normal mode to add to the fun whilst not feeling tethered to cables connected to headphone AMP/DACs Transparency Mode isn't that important for me as I prefer to use open style earbuds, such as the Shokz Openfit and the Tozo Openbuds, not even the transparency mode on these can compete to hearing music and the outside world simultaneously, but still very usable!
