What I find impressive is how you keep a very fine balance between keeping this very recognisable Powerwolf style we know and love and yet continuously exploring new sounds and ideas with every new song.

What Tserleg probably meant are the little nuances, like making Sabaton sounding songs 10 years back when they were hot, adding a bit of folk metal into the latest release now, and so on. Sure they still sound like them, and they should. But it's great to do those little things to keep it sounding as it should but still fresh.

I firmly believe that all Powerwolf songs can fit in 1 or 2 of 5 categories (as follows, in no particular order, ignoring music videos):
1: Divine and/or Warfare.
2: Vampires.
3: Werewolves.
4: Dark Horrors Of The Night.
5: Lust.
After listening 3 times, I have this song solidly in 4, and tentatively in 1.

They've got this internal mythology that serves as a connecting theme to their music. In short the idea is that the werewolves (and maybe sometimes vampires) serve God but do so by compromising themselves. They embrace sin (generally lust) to become monsters who then crusade or whatever in God's name. They were inspired by the tale of Theiss of Kaltenbrun.
