I'm so freaking sad, we lost one of the greatest singers of all times.
RIP Mark
Probably the greatest male/female pairing since Richard and Linda Thompson. Isobel has righteous songwriting skills. Mark has the greatest voice of the last 20 years in terms of baritone gruffness. He is our generation’s Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Jim Morrison in one smoky rasp.
A contrasting and yet beautiful combination of two voices; one flowing like clear water and the other like stones in a brook.
I vividly remember buying ballad of the broken seas when it came out, more out of curiosity than anything else. It’s an absolute masterpiece, the songs are haunting and the chemistry is beautiful. I was lucky to see them perform on 4 occasions in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Very sad news but his legacy and beautiful songs will live on and be rediscovered by generations to come. RIP Mark ❤️
This concert really shows off Marks great voice. I'm jealous of everyone who got to see this great performance.
"Beauty and the Beast", an extraordinary vocal combination that leaves my jaw hanging in awe, wonder and no small amount of jealousy.
I have this show on vinyl, I play it all the time. I'm so happy I get to actually add visuals to it now
Love how Mark is just a looming dark form on the stage emitting a dark growl.
With Mark on your side everything sounds better.
So sad tonight. RIP Mark
Pretty sad this morning. The Trees were one of the bands that woke me from my classic rock stupor in the early 90s.
The chemistry is so good between them, you'd think they had something going on. RIP, Mark Lanegan, this old man misses you.
It's not as if the music isn't excellent on its own, but I love how she's in light and he's in darkness.
Master Lanegan. wont be another like you.
I can’t count how many times this guy finds his way back to me feed....and I’m grateful. Only a few voices hit me like his. Gilmour, Staley, and this guy....echoes that bounce off my soul strings.
This is such an amazing set. I love Isobel and Marks vocals together. I get goosebumps everytime I hear Honey Child What Can I Do... RIP Mark your talent will never be forgotten
This set has grown on me so much; I’ve listened to it a few times now. honey child what can I do is potentially my new favourite song that mark and Isobel played together. Rip mark you legend
Isobel seems very natural and not so interested in all the hype of the music business game. Lovely voice and good taste in songs. I like the gentle folk elements in her songs which also sound contemporary. "Milk White Sheets" is my favourite album of hers and has often pleasantly lulled me to sleep - especially soothing during the series of 12,000 earthquakes the last few years which has destroyed much of my city, Christchurch, New Zealand.
What I would have given to have seen this concert. I only got to see Mark live once and regrettably (not to speak ill of the dead and a legend) he was very inebriated and it wasn't the best performance. Rest in peace, Mark. Your voice will be missed.
