This man and his song sculpting abilities has no equal , none . I'm 53 , of course I knew of the Screaming Trees back when they were first putting out LPs way back , wayyyyyy back. I did dig um , though overnight it seems they /Mark fell off my radar . Fast forward 20 + years and i kept seeing a few of his works when I was jammin on the QOTSA library. I clicked on one of the pics on the right on CZcams. A acoustic show with the lyrical genius Mark and doing the guitar on the show was the late great Dave Rosser. I was efn blowed away . I instantly related to his way efn koooool lyrics and AWESOMENESS persona. I never looked back . The man's music literally saved me a few times in my life . Women , drugs, so on . When I heard the news , it literally stopped me in my tracks. This one really hurt. You were the absolute kooooolest mo fo on the plant guy . Thanks man , I will listen to your genius library of art until I leave this fabulous place . RIP brother . You certainly deserve it . . . .
I'm finally able to be OK with pain I feel for a musicians passing. Idk I just really depended on him for years. Cliche , but he made sense of the world for me. Thank you Mr Yardbrough, you've helped me move on a little bit, just knowing I'm not alone
This was a kick in the gut. Just lost my brother 3 weeks before.I still had residual shock and this happened! Wham!! A visceral punch in the face. Mark never really got the recognition of how very good he was. A full on hero to me.

I sometimes chuckle when looking at Mark's facial expressions when singing (same with Jimi Hendrix 🤣), but I know when I sing I do the same sort of thing. I usually have my eyes closed and squint them and everything. It's just a habit I can't help.
I can only dream to play as good as Jeff. Mark was lucky to have a lot of A-grade guitarists backing him up but Jeff's special. Other than Rosser, I don't think any guy could convey the mood of these songs so well acoustically.
I met a new man in my life in Dec 2021. He introduced me to Mark Lanegan’s music. My man met Mark and spoke to him once, In the same venue we met. I was instantly taken in by Marks emotional performance and beautiful voice. We promised each other that we’d see Mark together the next time he played the UK…. It wasn’t to be. Such a loss. Gone too soon. I continue to be enthralled by Mark Lanegan’s rich back catalogue and love to search out videos like this one. Fabulously intimate… The gig I never saw.

I've been on a big time Mark Lanegan/Screaming Trees trip the past few YEARS now after listening to Mark's memoir "Sing Backwards and Weep" and can't get enough of it. This is the best live footage I've ever seen of Mark and that's saying a lot due to the sheer amount of videos I've seen of him. RIP Dark Mark ❤️🖤❤️❤️🖤

I saw Mark in Adelaide in 2012 and he was amazing and kind enough to sign my WInding Sheet LP but I would've killed to have seen him in this setting rather than with a band, as I think this is where he really shines. Hopefully once artists can start touring internationally again he makes an Australian stop.
In 2016 I drove 7 hours to Bologna, Italy to see Mark's show in a small theater (for the 4th time that year). I was so disappointed when I saw that there wasn't a band with him, but only him and a guitar player (Jeff Fielder). Nonetheless that was the best show that I've ever been to (by various artists).
I was hopeful to see him live, I've been obsessed with him since first got hold of The Screaming Trees in early 90s. Those guys great as well but noone sings and fills my heart like Mark Lanegan. God, I feel sorry for myself
This is an amazing performance, I love the intimate setting and I knew this had to be somewhere outside of the US. American audience would never have been as quiet and engaged, I guess we’re just not like that sadly. This is a gift to have after losing Mark back in February. When I read the news of his passing, it was the first time I’ve ever cried over the loss of a famous person or someone I didn’t know personally. I did feel like, thru his music and lyrics, on a spiritual level he knew me and I felt like I knew him. His music has meant so much to me and changed the way I think about writing music, singing, and more. I love this man and his incredible and unique voice. Rest In Peace Mr. “Dark Mark” Lanegan. The worlds a little less bright without you in it. ❤️
That’s not entirely true. I’ve been to at least 4 shows of his, each one different but I’m reminded of a set at Chicago school of folk music where it was again just him and Zander featured here and it was a breathtaking show. One of my fondest memories despite almost falling off of the balcony

Wow, he is on my CZcams, Spotify, my vinyl, cd player. I was 17 when Nirvana exploded, so listen to S Trees. Remember a freind played ”Bubbelgum”, fell in love whith Pj Harvey. But what a ride im on, my song writing went cold turky for 8 - 10 weeks. But seens Mr Lanegan came into my life, im inspierd. Your gone, but your songs fills my room whith your spirit. RIP

But what a ride im on, my song writing went cold turky for 8 - 10 weeks. But seens Mr Lanegan came into my life, im inspierd. Your gone, but your songs fills my room whith your spirit. RIP
