If it’s a daily I’d recommend 7” mcghaughys and 35x12.50 and probably a 10 wide wheel. It’s a great looking setup and still practical. All depends on what you’re looking for. • @Parker_Garage
      @Parker_Garage  Před 4 lety +4

      Hey man! Good choice on the rough country 6” as it is a true 6” lift, as opposed to the super lift which is only a true 5” lift. However if I were to do it again, I would choose a 7” mcgaughys lift. It is a true 7” lift and you will be able to run 35s without any rubbing, cutting, or cranking torsion keys and your balljoint and axle angles will be perfectly flat (allowing best ride quality and front end parts longevity) . It does cost 700 more but your truck will thank you. If it does come down to the extra 700$ I’m sure you won’t be upset with the 6” lift, will need some minor trimming and or torsion key crank. Nonetheless you’ll get it done and the truck will look sweet 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    Great truck, love the build, and sounds awesome!😁 I am buying my first car soon and will most likely do a lot of work on it. I am hoping to score a Chevy Silverado 1500 years 1999 - 2006 or a GMC Sierra 1500 years 2001 - 2009, maybe a Jeep Wrangler. Any recommended parts, mods, feature ideas, or building advice? At the time of the video it was around 9” of lift. I have it up to around 11 at the moment.
      I have never given this truck an easy day at work and have never had an issue with the body lift. Other than it being kinda ugly.
      But as far as functionality it has taken everything I’ve thrown at it, and I’ve broken lots of other things before anything to do with the body lift.
      As far as what I used the truck for, mostly delivering tools, minor towing, and a decent amount of off-road recovery. I have pulled out a 3/4 ton cummins swapped f250 and only broke my rear end lol.

    • @Parker_Garage

      Thank you!!!! I would say the regear is mandatory for 37s. I only payed 1145 total for the regear. I was quoted over 3,000 by other shops so shop to find a good locally owned one. What wheel size and offset are you running? That would determine if I’d do 37s or not. And what name lift. Is it a true 6” ? Thanks for the comment let me know whatever questions you got. I plan to make a driving video with the new gears. Also, the abs and brake light came on after my regear and a tune did not fix it so I’m still working on that.

      ParkerTC I’m currently running 18x9. I was wanting to go back to the stock 17s if I was to the 37s and I got the rough country 6 inch and it should be true. I can tell when I have to climb in it

    • @Parker_Garage
      @Parker_Garage  Před 4 lety

      Rogers American that’s a true 6” lift indeed! With the stocks you should be able to run 37s with some crank on the keys and some trimming. Also 12.5 wides would be a little easier to clear, but I like my 13.50s. I have torsion keys on my truck now, since the video. It added about 2” of loft and whatever ride quality I lost is definitely worth it. Tires don’t rub and it’s finally level. So I’d be tempted to get the 37s good luck man ! Did you gear it cause of the lift? Just curious since I'm thinking of lifting mine also.

    • @Parker_Garage
      @Parker_Garage  Před 4 lety +3

      If you only lift it there’s no need to regear. However, If you put significantly larger tires on it, it becomes necessary to regear. By putting bigger tires, your effective gear ratio gets numerically lower (strains engine and transmission as well as slows it down a lot from a dig)
      Best thing to do is to install a gear that changes your effective ratio close to stock if you do significantly bigger tires. I went with an effective ratio 4.3% lower than stock to make up for the significant amount of additional weight going from a 265x70r17 to a 37x13.50r20. Therefore 4.56 gears with 37s is 4.3% lower feared than a 265x70r17 on 3.73 gears. However if your vehicle has a powerful engine and your tire size isn’t too insane the performance will be pretty good with a similar effective ratio or no gear change at all. I simply went as low with the gears as I did because of additional weight and rotating mass.
      Thanks for the comment, Ask anything else ya got. 👍🏻

      Enrique Flores Hey man, it all depends on what you like from your truck. I am overall happy with the 4.56 gears. Personally I wouldn’t go any lower with 37s. After driving with these gears and observing mileage drop at highway speeds, 4.88s would be too much for me. But regardless, the low end is awesome and it can still smoke the tires. I might make a video showing drive-ability if some people might want that. Feel free to ask more questions. Thanks.

      Dalton Fox i made a video about fuel mileage and 37s with 4.56 gears. I’d check that one out man it would probably answer some questions. I prefer the 4.56 gears. Thanks
