Deaver Springs: The Truth
zhlédnutí 6KPřed rokem
The Deaver springs for a 99-06 Chevy Truck does not yield the amount of advertised lift. If your goal is 6" of lift, based off my experience you should order the 8" lift springs being that the 6" lift springs only yielded 4-4.5" of lift.

    Just so everyone knows deaver leaf springs are not meant as a lift spring it is meant as a long travel better ride leaf spring on suspensions that move that much its going to vary slightly and all leaf springs settle or compress over time do your due diligence and research firs do not use deavers as a lift kit because they are not

  •  Před 2 měsíci

    because it is 6"' over factory , well factory uses a lift block which you needed to leave in place . for a direct replacement of just the springs

    Why don’t people do the minimum lift required for the tire size they want? 6” lifts and wheels that poke give you a useless p.o.s.

I actually just ordered some Deaver springs for my Tacoma that says it gives a 1” lift and I’m not really wanting a lift. Maybe these springs not measuring up will work to my advantage. How are the springs working out other than the lack of height promised?

    You have a 4 door truck with a tool box full of stuff in the bed. 6" was probably an average with all the cab types (single, extended, etc). Your front being high right now is also putting weight bias to the rear, it's not uncommon to have to use small blocks to dial the desired lift height when piecing together parts. Your advertised 6" of front lift could also be high 🤷‍♂️. The money spend is buying a quality pack that eliminates your stack of blocks and improves the ride characteristics.

    • @Parker_Garage
      @Parker_Garage Před 10 měsíci

      You’re not taking into account how the difference was over my worn out factory springs. If anything it should’ve been taller after the fact. My toolbox is all the way forward of the axle as well and only had a 14 gallon air tank in it for my train horn, would make a marginal difference at most. And if we’re going to split hairs why not ask how much gas I had in the gas tank as well.

    • @davidgagne4373
      @davidgagne4373 Před 10 měsíci

      @Parker_Garage I don't know what to tell you, I bought the Deaver packs through Carli and the advertised height is what I get for F series trucks. With the weight of my tool box and tools I usually have to add a 1 inch spacer to keep advertised height. I don't think you appreciate how weight bias works, anything in the bed of your truck including the cab weight, is supported by the rear springs. There isn't an imaginary line that anything forward of that rest on the front or rear suspension components solely. 🙄

      @augusticf-thefarmerdownsou1426 Před 8 měsíci

      Another helpful tip is that you cannot compare the front to the rear wheel well ….opening is typically not as high in the rear as the front …if that is what you’re comparing? You would be better off putting a level on the bed rail to see what you’re front to rear rake is.

    Hey man helpful info going to put a 6 inch lift on my 05 crew cab z71 soon. One question, how are your droop stops not touching the UCAs. Are those the stock ones? Reason I ask is because before I bought my truck the droop stops were broke halfway off and I didn’t notice until recently lol. Someone cranked the front all the way up and rode it like that. So I think I will just get someone to weld them back on or cut them off and get some blocking welded underneath the bracket so it’ll beef it up. Also, thinking of some 22x12 hostiles with 37s but don’t know yet. I like the fuels but they have been so expensive lately.

    • @Parker_Garage
      @Parker_Garage Před rokem

      At the time of that video they were stock upper control arms. They did not touch, mostly because I only had my keys turned slightly. I now have the Cognito UCAs. You can get limiting straps and put your keys at a reasonable angle, or weld something on lol.

    • @Parker_Garage

      Unfortunately I have my keys about half way cranked. Luckily they’re not maxed out so it rides okay. 37s are a rough deal on the 1500s; no one makes a proper lift to clear them (under $6,000)
