  • Mesmerizing collection of wind activated kinetic sculptures by Phil Price.
Nucleus, Forbidden tree, Grace, Tree of life, Cellular, Opto, Ratyte, Protoplasm
His use of carbon fiber composite construction is unparalleled in regards the synergy he is able to achieve between form and kinetic functionality. The sculptures evolve from the artist’s intimate drawings and concepts, through to computer generated digital renderings and animations, to fully realised sculptures.

Fantastic work, beautiful in every way. Love it, BUT, please rename this vid. It has NOTHING to do with how he builds them.
It is purely a showing of his work. As I said, it's stunning. I was hoping to see How he builds them, like you said in the title.

We had/have a Phil Price sculpture here in Christchurch, pre the earthquakes rebuild. I'm not sure if it is still here but it was a real landmark piece. You'd say to people, "oh, meet me outside the flattened jaffa sculpture", which was a reference to a red, spherical lolly that we eat here, or at least used to when they weren't made with palm oil chocolate.
It's great to see his work shown on *+Perpetual Useless*

What a shame it didn't show the design methodology or the actual making of one of these sculptures as the title of the video suggested.

Lovely art, and a nice video! Sounds and images worked well together. Would have loved a list of locations though.

I want an orchard of the pink trees and blue bushes, a Cristo style installation covering hillsides and ravines. you'd never need drugs again.

Thanks sue, I have spent 15 years trying to trace the Christchurch sculpture which I saw on holiday there, and you solved my problem in one. Now how are they built as in the title, and who is Mr price. John from Oz
