Great video...well done! With that type of kinetic mechanism (using a weight on a rope) how long do your sculptures run for? Instead of using ropes with weights I've thought of using the springs found in larger tape measures to create a cheap constant force spring mech.
Thank you. it will work 45 minuts ( depends on the rope length ) spring mechanism is also good.

This is absolutely wonderful, what an achievement!! This sculpture required an exceptional degree of thoughtfulness and know how, and you executed it to stunning effect! I’m a woodworker and some day I want to move on to kinetic sculptures, so I would have appreciated a view of the back. Is there a way you could explain in words what the pawls and pins do? Do they retract when the wheel slows below a certain speed so that the weights can drop and accelerate them again? How does this work with the wheels behaving as pendulums, slowing, stopping, and changing direction?

How do you generate the paper patterns for the cutouts?
Thanks Marty, I downloaded the design from the internet, brought it into Photoshop and set it to fit on 6 A4 size papers with a 22" diameter, then printed the 6 papers and glued them together.

Nice. what are the problems you run into when making these?
Many problems have been encountered. Mostly we need some time to achieve the balance, both the wheels need to be separately balanced and the pawls should all hit the stopper evenly, like that.

@@clauslangenbroek9897 Fair enough. I can't say anything about the process as soon as I heard the 'music' I hit the pause, down-vote, and channel block buttons in rapid succession.
The video may have had next week's winning Lottery numbers, but I'll never know as I won't ever be watching anything from the channel again.
I only used the music for the first part of the video, sorry if you don't like it. I've tried to show you the best way to make it. I apologize once again if you don't like it.
The construction was really skillful but I disliked your video because the installation was lousy. It was not in the center but close to the door. When you look at it, it looks ugly and shows your ignorance. It basically killed all your hardworking and creativity.
That's pretty dumb.
