    *Answering some FAQS*
    1/ under your HUD for "Duty", look for 'Crystalline Conflict Battle Log" this is where the countdown timer will occur, for the Cloud map lifting people into the air
    2/ the LB bar for everyone, is displayed as yellow horizontal bar below job icons

    I have never felt more rage than when I played this game mode. I found my self having flashbacks to the old TF2 days, yelling push the dang cart. Crystalline Conflict is really fun. It's a really good thing there is no free chat in that mode.

    • @Stardrifter404
      @Stardrifter404 Před 2 lety +3

      Oh yeah for sure, I've felt the urge to rage at my team mates before in moments where I'd stupidly charged ahead and 1v5'ed and team mates hung back but in hindsight I'm glad we can't because at the end of the day it would likely just make them more stubborn and make myself feel worse for doing it since rarely does rage typing make the situation better.
      The better thing to do is to understand your team mates positioning in comparison to the enemies positions and also who on your team is low on MP, if they are low on MP they'll likely be running around a corner to pop an elixir and won't be able to commit to an attack with you.

      Duuuude, I never raged this hard, not even when I played Overwatch. Sure, I’d get annoyed but I never hurt my wrist by slamming it against the table out of frustration. Now I feel like Im developing anger issues because of this mode. I get easily annoyed when my team plays so poorly and drag me down with them or when the enemy that’s playing the same job as me decides to bully me as if it’s a competition of who played RDM best, same thing when someone from my server does it just because they’ve seen me a lot so they wanna test me or something. My competitiveness cant handle it, thats why after getting to plat, i went on a break lol

      @bigquazz3955 Před 2 lety +2

      It's honestly the most useless button. The ONLY time you should be falling back is when multiple people are dead waiting to repsawn. And that's only to keep each fight even or better with numbers advantage, so don't fall back if the enemy team is missing people as well.
      Any other time, leaving your team to fight a 4v5 or worse while you spam "fall back" because you can't rotate mitigation properly or do damage is unacceptable.

      I agree! I was in a ranked match when some of our teammates were rushing the opponents and got baited several time. The enemies were dominating and kept on pushing the crystal. I'm currently plat 3 3stars, one tip I would recommend for fellow dragoons/samurai or any other dps melee in pvp is to try to help peel for your healer/ranged, you may not have the highest kill rate or dps in the end, but it helps your teammates survive which wins the fight usually as everyone can target the one melee opponent who is targeting your ranged. Another would be removing the opponent from the crystal, if you are in the advantaged side during overtime, try to bait your opponent out of the circle or for monk try to push them off, this has won me so many games because people still fail to stand in the circle even in my ranks

    • @rexex345
      @rexex345 Před 2 lety +2

      Doubly so for tanks, sure DrK and War can keep up with the melees in raw damage, but as a war, I've seen so much more success staying to the side or just behind the crystal and pulling people that try to contest out, and with war... Our LB makes us a miniboss, don't be afraid to chase people down and make yourself an obvious target, it will help your team push.

    • @samyie3279
      @samyie3279 Před 2 lety +1

      I kinda do this, as the bait as DRG. I like to backflip from in front to behind enemy lines right after the initial engagement and let aoes fly. Then run people back to their base (I always get at least 1 chaser, sometimes 2.) if no one reacts I pick someone to jump in on and focus down. I know this won’t work for long, but when it works it’s incredibly gratifying.

      @rexex345 Před 2 lety +2

      @@rosieweaselby peeling means to use stuns, forced movement and even damage to protect other party members do they can do their job better. For example, ninja has an AoE execution on their LB; therefore they become a primary target when their lb is fulll. To peel for them, you want to use everything you have to keep them alive so they can get it off, this includes trying to keep the other team from staying above 50% HP cause the longer they stay out of execution range the more time they have to get rid of the ninja

    Another small tip is to see what kind of macros you can make for your job. For instance I have a 5 separate buttons f1-f5 for the machinist LB to quickly snipe a target and a target macro for bishop. I also have 2 different deployment tactics on sch. One for the party, one for the enemy. (/pvpaction instead of /action for those who are unaware)

    Some other tips:
    Track opponents MP. A target with 70% hp and no MP is better than a target with 50% hp and full MP in most scenarios and coordinating your attacks on the no MP target will result in a kill if they're out in the open
    SGE and WHM reward aggressive play. Both have powerful offensive abilities allowing you and your team to push in and finish off prime health targets while shoring up your team's ability to stay in the fight. SCH and AST are more about debilitating the enemy's defensive capabilities in a group fight and supporting your team from the back line.
    Use the environment to your advantage. Corners/LOS are very strong as they were in feast and while focusing on the objective keep in mind the corners nearby that you can quickly use to LOS any ranged enemies. The Volcano arena leaves offensive buffs you can pick up after the fire bombs go off, grab any you see on your way to turn you into a killing machine. If any enemies fail to block the Tornado on that arena immediately burst them as they will have received a ton of damage.

    • @WinoaKaronhiatens

      Nope wrong a target with 50% hp and full mp likely will heal and it will be pointless. A target 70% hp and no mp cannot heal and will die if focused unless your dumb let him get away and allow him to use an elixir. Even if he guards his hp will go down and in guard as it doesn't mitigate full damage. Only PLD has an ability to do that with another skill. Though even then you just wait his guard off then nuke him. In terms MP is life in Crystalline Conflict.

    By far the most aggravating things I’ve experienced from teammates so far are 1. what you mentioned, running around to chase kills while the enemy moves ahead with our crystal unchecked (at this point, pinging the “push the crystal!” prompt is part of my rotation…) - and 2. being completely unwilling to contest the crystal at all, even when numbers would be evenly matched or even outnumbered in our favour, and even when the enemy team is making rapid progress to our checkpoints and home base. So many of the ranged players, including healers, will spend the entire fight running around and away from people and trying to use distance as safety. That works well in frontline, but this is different. Sometimes even melee players do this when they get scared. When I see this from 2 or more players on my team, it almost always leads to our downfall, since they tend to leave the rest of us outnumbered by positioning themselves that way. I’m sure there are plenty of people who need the “don’t rush into obvious danger” tip emphasized, but at least from my personal experience in the last two days, I’d like to advise the opposite. xD The situation you explained about being one of the only ones alive, everyone else respawning and the other team is about to win - that happens a LOT!! I’ve had several cases of diving in to contest it, popping my ccs, lb, heals, and guard, knowing I will die, but buying enough time for my teammates to get there. Seen tanks do this really well too, but anyone is able to, not just them. I hope more people pay attention to when this is necessary, because it is so essential to turning the tides in this gamemode.

    • @aoispreutt4558
      @aoispreutt4558 Před 2 lety +3

      Very valid point, but at the same time ranged and healers are sorta supposed to be attacking from a distance. They're a lot squishier than melee and tanks. Staying out of range means people need to go out of their way to attack them, and doing that makes said person that does go out of their way vulnerable to being focused. Yes, you should push into the crystal if you have advantage in numbers, but on equal footing, you need to be out taking pot shots and CCing from a distance. There's a reason there's literally a distance requirement on certain ranged skills.

    • @thewitchbitch
      @thewitchbitch Před 2 lety

      @@aoispreutt4558 I’m talking about the countless points in which they do need to be, and we end up losing because they stay back fighting one person, nowhere be seen. I play ranged as well, I’m not unfamiliar with the advantages of the playstyle, I just see way more ranged people not even understanding that the key point to win is tied to the crystal, not kills.

    • @thewitchbitch
      @thewitchbitch Před 2 lety +1

      @@aoispreutt4558 I have an example from a match just a moment ago that demonstrates how ranged being in the action can actually really help to turn the tides. I, as machinst, and the white mage on our team took the job of pushing the crystal and staying in it during the checkpoints. Our melee dps and tank, taking note of this, baited the enemies slightly to the side of the crystal, meaning I and the healer could also easily attack them the whole time, and no enemies in the radius of the crystal. If they'd been paying more attention, they should have focused us down instead of fighting the melees, but even if that happened, our own melees could then come into the circle while I and the healer back away a short distance, ready to jump in if needed. I guess what I'm saying is that you're absolutely right, there's an advantage to staying at ranged. But it's absolutely key to know when you need to be able to jump in and secure your team's victory. Otherwise, the melees have no choice but to stay in the very small area of the crystal at all times, which limits their combat options.

      I had a really annoying experience with our bard. The match as so good because crystal only made it to around 25 or 30 because it kept going back and forth. They were leading by a point or two. Overtime and it was just the two of us, I was in the crystal, playing RDM, we were able to kill 3 of the enemy because they were low on health when I used my LB and verflare. But at the same time I died as well. The brd was soooo free to move the crystal since they’re near it but in those few seconds, they didnt move at all. They just instantly locked on the enemy who just respawned and was running to the crystal. I lost a star and my win streak. :’)

    Some great tips! One thing I would add, is taking time to fully understand your class's strengths and weaknesses. Know your KIT inside and out. Understand your most optimal burst sequences and ways to alter it to allow for more optimal escape related abilities.
    Key example: Popping evasive jump 4-5 seconds before initiating with the twin dragon strike will half the amount of time you'll need to wait for the next opening. So once your go in and dump your burst, it is about when your Evasive jump will be back up for you to pull up and recuperate for the next burst window.
    Plan your escape, and play smart. Just like PVE, the worst thing you can do is DIE

On the other hand, I cant do too many matches in one sitting; I guess I'm not made for that fast paced content but its fun none the less and the fact that its so short really helps. Sofar I've only done casual matches... dont yet dare to do ranked ^^°

    using guard offensively with RDM is a great strategy, you would use corps a corp, then frazzle the entire enemy team then you use guard to get to safety. Not only now do they all have damage taken increased and their healing reduced while also surviving most attacks. This gives your team REALLY great power early on for the first 10 seconds of a fight

    It's mentioned in the Crystalline Conflict webpage, but not explicitly in-game: pick up the buffs available in the Cloud Nine and Volcanic Heart when the arena events happen! During Turbulence, stand in the yellow circles to pick up black chocobo feathers to get a movement and attack speed buff. Similarly pick up the orange bomb cores left behind during the Eruption event which gives damage up (up to 10 stacks). Both of these buffs also fill your limit gauge. So many matches could be flipped around by picking up these buffs.

    One extremely helpful thing is to put marks on the healers in your team and also on high priority targets on the enemy team, like the healers or a highly skilled, high threat target and always focus them first and burst them down (if it's not a tank).
    What I also like to do is to always put a mark on Dragoons because their LB is extremely dangerous if you failed to see it coming but can otherwise easily be mitigated/avoided.
    Dragoon LBs are the worst thing I witnessed my teams always getting killed on day 1 while escaping Bronze Tier xD

    This is really solid advice all around. If nothing else, I can say to temper your expectations. It IS solo queue only and you can run into players pretty easily who may have no idea how to play this mode, or interest in really putting in that effort. Just try to have fun with it and don't get too frustrated. Anyone's bound to get annoyed if you're all the way up to Bronze/Silver/Gold etc 1 and then have a string of losses bringing you to the bottom of that bracket in a handful of matches.

  • @VideogamesPang
    @VideogamesPang Před 2 lety

    I play with controller so I don't know if this is helpful, but the game has a variety of keybind options for targeting, including some you might not know about. There's "Target Nearest Enemy" "Target Last Enemy" and "Target Enemy Attacking You". Unfortunately they don't cycle so you have to de-target to target something else. There's also one that many might not know about because it's technically a controller input, which is the "Confirm" binding under the System tab.
    Confirm will target characters close to you, with a complex priority system based on your character's direct line of sight and what kinds of targets are on your screen. It's hard to explain but I find it quite intuitive, at least on controller, as it targets whatever is directly in front of your character, so it's quite easy to predict what it will target. It will also exclude certain targets based on your targeting settings so if you set your targeting mode to "enemies only" it will not target party members.

XP idk if people simply dont realize a tank is just as screwed if theyre faced with too many people? I play WAR for my static, just stuck with it for pvp, it's great but it needs attentive teammates who will capitalize on my CCs or go after the person I drag into our group with chains (usually the healer or ranged lol). I tried SAM, but pretty much the other team just focuses you for immediate murder so GL 😅 AST was ok, but basically useless. There's only 2 heals every 30 seconds and some useless cards and your teammates play like idiots because they think healers can still carry lol.

  • @Kiyosuki
    @Kiyosuki Před 2 lety

    This might sound like weird advice, but I think one of the most important things people need to deprogram out of themselves for Crystal Conflict is the instinct to go all in on trying to kill supports as soon as possible. I'm not saying to never go in on them if its advantageous, but rather I'm talking about those players that never stop targetting or letting up on a support player, even if its not particularly advantageous or worse yet...there's more vulnerable or squishier targets that are nearby, or one that maybe other members have locked down. I've been in quite a few games where some players just hyper-focus on the support players all the time and that's just not now Crystal Conflict works because everyone is essentially a dps. (although I'll add that hyper fixating on healers allows them to turn what healing utility they have fully on themselves + Recuperate + Guard and make amazing resource drain distractions.)
    I'm not saying to never go in on supports, but more that supports aren't always super high priority targets that everyone has to drop everything to go after. The enemy team losing say, a SAM, a DRG, or a RDM to name a few can be just as devastating...if not more so in some cases, than a support.
    I know its a difficult mentality to get out of your head because its so natural to assume that the supports is/are the enemy teams' Achilles heel to take out at all costs, but thats just not how it works in this pvp.

    The concept of handholding in PvP games tend to be something not exist since ppl kinda want this and that without actually trying to learn it.
    If this PvP teach something, that would be how ppl react so you can adjust your play style to suit it. Be flexible and quick on opportunities. That’s what a good Pvper should be.
    The ceiling of this mode is technically on the roof since you need to play fast and effectively. There is that gap in skill here if grouping become a thing later on.

    If only PVP had a tab targeting system like Dissidia NT. Where it goes down from your target down the player list. So if you target the top player and want to go to the person at the bottom, you can either tab target down 4 times or shift tab 1 up. Just that would make things much more consistent.
    Also, the respawn timer is garbage. 10 seconds to respawn, 10 seconds to regain control of your character.

    • @hellfrozenphoenix13
      @hellfrozenphoenix13 Před 2 lety

      Yeah, 10 seconds is pretty long and punishing. I'd day make it 6 seconds, BUT each death extends the timer by 2 seconds. The idea is to make sure people can't just chain suicide in to stall forever, but it feels bad to lose a fight exclusively because the enemy got their first kill on my team after they died for the 3rd time. Those moments feel very bad because then we lose due to an overly punishing timer when we more than earned our place as winners for the match

    • @NabaniSaa
      @NabaniSaa Před 2 lety +1

      @@hellfrozenphoenix13 The timer isn't the problem. The problem is that, after the timer expires, you load up back on the platform, so a black screen for 2 or 3 seconds, then your character loads in and takes another 4ish seconds before being able to move again. I find this as the only big issue with PVP that NEEDS to be fixed. Tab targeting is whatever. But fix these god fuck death timers please.
