Polystyrene packaging protects fragile goods from damage during transit. Disposal is a problem. Only a handful of Indian companies recycle the special waste. But there is an alternative material made from plant residues with the help of fungi.

I appreciate these people ,I wish the recyclers and garbage pickers had more safety equipment such as gloves 🧤 and breathing masks 😷 ,Many cities including New York have banned polystyrene for cups and packing, it just can't be disposed off safety , Governments should force Industry to transition away from it ,The pickers , recyclers, and engineer should be helped to find alternative methods, But KUDOS to India 🇮🇳 for trying to do something practical and innovative 👍 Great Program ,look forward to seeing more. Thanks

Scientists recently discovered a worm which is able to eat styrofoam (look it up on CZcams). Now they are studying the digestive enzymes in the worm's stomach that are helping to reduce styrofoam to naturally occurring substances. When scientists are able to mass produce these enzymes, then we will have a good way of recycling styrofoam with hopefully minimum impact. India should be investing in this type of research. We have a DRDO, but no Environmental Research organization.

Government needs to help this eco plastic factory setup more units, unfortunately Modi does not watch such documentaries

Used for super insulating air concrete. Also works to keep soil from compacting.
Or sell it to the military to make napalm out of it ( worst idea)

Recycling has its own carbon footprint 👣
I believe there should be green material alternatives plus human labor and processes that can make thermacol unnecessary for packaging- true that the only way if talking about eco health is to not consume it.

I think stopping production is of utmost importance

Not only stopping production, but also a clearer route map to collect and pile up those wastes safely. The best possible way to recycle it - is to compress it with a hydraulic press..and stacking it up in a waste facility until a better eco recycling method is invented..

These type of recycling plants where gov should invest and make a plan to install it in all. Across the india with and incentives should be given to the main inventor.. Gov participation is the most important thing in recycling process and gov should give subsidy on these recycled products so the end consumer also will not be disgraced with such initiative that tax money is not getting wasted instead it is being used to protect our future

No disrespect, but first the subtittle needs to change she is saying she gets Rs.50 for 1 kg and the subtittle states she getz Rs.60 for 10 kg thats gross miscalculation and undermining of Indian Rupee 😂
