    Chickadees are some of my FAVORITE birds to watch at our bird feeders. What do you think of them??

    Wow, their casual call is probably THE most recognizable bird call to me, after maybe a Chicken. And I didn't even know it was this bird until just now. Lol.

    We have bird feeders in the front, and they come on a regular basis. I like to sit in the front to watch them and hear their distinctive song. Cute little birds.

    My Dad had several black capped chickadees he had trained to eat out of his hand. If the bird feeder got empty they would fly around his head to get him to refill it. Clever little birds whose distinctive calls echoed eerily through the woods in which his home sat.

    I can only hear the 'deee' in their call. The 'chicka' is a bit harder to hear. I don't think that's what they're saying anyway. 😂
    I didn't realize that Woodpeckers ate other birds. That is an interesting fact. I used to hear Chickadees all the time in Va.

    The ones I often hear in the US midwest go, Fee bee fee. I wonder if its a different species then a black capped chickadee, or, if its a song variation.

    We have lots of chickadees around our area and they're bold, they don't have a problem landing on your shoulder or eating from your hand.
    The thing that I always found confounding was that they would come up to our feeder and take a couple of seeds and fly back while other birds would sit there and gorge themselves. Seems like quite a bit of wasted energy but obviously it must work for them.

    • @AnimalFactFiles
      @AnimalFactFiles  Před 2 lety

      They are quite bold! And yes! They take those seeds to hide all around their environment. They're seed hoarders and can remember thousands of seed locations. Could you imagine? Never lose your keys again!
