You know I have just passed a council press office vehicles, thousands of pounds worth, sitting on a pavement because round the corner you have to pay at meters. What a monster of a machine and the council goes on about global warming, what it is doing to save the planet. The reason I know it was a council press vehicle is the sticker on the side window saying so. If an officer was around I would see what they would have said about the driver driving on a pavement.
They shouldn't even need to be told. They have an army of staff out and about each day, they should proactively check and maintain the public infrastructure. If those morons at the reception are in the shop window, what an earth do they keep behind the scenes?

Try contacting the council for a issue with the bins and rubbish collection, they'll wander off to put on the SS uniform, and their answer will always be "no", and we can't / won't help you, it's all your fault. Don't even get me started on recycling, it's NOT illegal not to recycle in the UK, but the councils "polices" seemingly supercede UK law, you phone in a complaint, they refuse to help you and just hang up the phone. Lucky for us eh,that we don't pay for rubbish to be taken away. It's free. 🙄.

Local authorities' have one gear, and it's a crawler gear. In the real world they'd be out on their ear. Lazy, slow, unhelpful, and from my experience cold empty people. About 12 weeks ago i emailed my council to report an incident of flytipping i caught on my CCTV. Took 4 weeks to get a reply, which i replied back to within 5 minutes, only to wait another 4 weeks for a reply. Again, i replied within minutes of receiving their email only to wait 3 weeks for a reply. It's nuts. Another enquiry we made re our council tax took 8 months for a reply. Yes, 8 months. Stick these people in a private sector job and they'd get exposed and sacked.
This is so typical of the way councils operate now. Every problem is never their problem and if you want anything done you have to do all the work. Invoice them for a rebate on your council tax.
All she did was order him to go phone them himself when she should have taken down the complaint and sorted it. Its all you need to speak to this team speak to that team bla bla bla.

This reminds me of years ago when I was a teenager working in a supermarket. If a customer didn't know where something was we would take them to the actual item they wanted on the shelf. Nowadays the staff just point in the general direction and grunt. I too have worked for local government in the UK and it really was this bad even back then. I always estimated that you could fire two thirds of the staff and it wouldn't make any difference whatsoever!!

Customer bags their own groceries which means I have to wait five minutes for each customer to bag themselves. Longer when it’s some old lady. The cashier works two minutes to ring up, then takes a break for the bagging process. They love it too, they will never change it. Hiring a bag boy would mean faster lines which means higher sales but nope - they will never do that. Keep the pace nice and slow.

In Portugal you are not allowed to film public if you target specifically someone. Only allowed in public settings for tourist purposes. Film like you see in audits, most definitely not in Portugal.

Would love to be a fly on the wall when the parking police watch AB's "audit" and hear themselves say "what happens at the end of the year is the council get an audit". This then followed by AB's quizzical sounding reply of "an audit???". Classic! Re the subway, all public bodies have a statutory duty to take and respond to public complaints. The way Dartford responded to this was disgusting and they should be reported to the Local Governent Ombudsman for it. All I see here is a bunch of people paid to do nothing other than sit there telling the public that everyting is someone else's problem. They take our council tax so they should also take our complaints about failings in the services we pay for.

Dartford Council needs to shake up its act disgraceful way to treat a member of the public who is actually doing their job for them in reporting a hazard of health and safety concern affecting the taxpaying public. Council should get out of their building,be proactive in observing the state of their communities and acting to resolve issues quickly. They have now used systems that discriminates against the public from timeously accessing public services,what do you do if you do not have a computer to report problems,wasting everyone's time in office to report by phone concerns.I would make each of these councillors take it in turns to man a telephone 24/7 to be accessible to the public with any issues regarding the community.Taxpayers deserve better than this from publically funded employees. Disgraceful, so much for progress! All these public employees should be made to go down and clear up this underpass there seems to be far too many of them with little to do, as you know many hands make light work.Are council staff with BWC not obliged to inform the public that they are recording them?.
I worked at a joke centre down south in Havant and security (all 3 of them) spent most of their day in their office watching TV, drinking coffee, and heading off into town to do their shopping. Cushy number.

I stopped paying council tax in 2020 for this very reason, I ain't wasting my hard earned on useless services and people collecting a wage for doing very little.

The Jobcentre stuff is just ridiculous. They use privacy as an excuse when they're getting their own GDPR back to front. Fault reporting has just become a lottery these days. Councils make it as difficult as possible. Pride in appearance and performance had gone out of the window and the tax payer is just treated as a nuisance. Traffic Supervisor on the ball with his own GDPR knowledge was a classic!
To renew your SIA license they have made it compulsory to update your training. The training included that photography is suspicious and must be questioned

This one is a very good audit. Please do Havering council in Romford next. They are quick to send you threatening letter whenever you miss your council tax payments but never answer the phone when you need anything from them.

Re the subway, all public bodies have a statutory duty to take and respond to public complaints. The way Dartford responded to this was disgusting and they should be reported to the Local Governent Ombudsman for it. All I see here is a bunch of people paid to do nothing other than sit there telling the public that everyting is someone else's problem. They take our council tax so they should also take our complaints about failings in the services we pay for.
Take anything to an ombudsman and they respond with - "other no further action will be taken. There is no further resolution level."

Dartford Council needs to shake up its act disgraceful way to treat a member of the public who is actually doing their job for them in reporting a hazard of health and safety concern affecting the taxpaying public.
Council should get out of their building,be proactive in observing the state of their communities and acting to resolve issues quickly.
They have now used systems that discriminates against the public from timeously accessing public services,what do you do if you do not have a computer to report problems,wasting everyone's time in office to report by phone concerns.I would make each of these councillors take it in turns to man a telephone 24/7 to be accessible to the public with any issues regarding the community.Taxpayers deserve better than this from publically funded employees. Disgraceful, so much for progress!

Imagine back in the day going into a council building to point out a serious problem like this and getting that response, really does sicken me the sheer laziness and rudeness of today’s millennials, a good smack back in the early 2000s like we had back in the 1980s and this would not be happening, the world is doomed and there is no going back I’m just happy I can remember a happier time 👍

The Jobcentre stuff is just ridiculous. They use privacy as an excuse when they're getting their own GDPR back to front. Fault reporting has just become a lottery these days. Councils make it as difficult as possible. Pride in appearance and performance had gone out of the window and the tax payer is just treated as a nuisance. Traffic Supervisor on the ball with his own GDPR knowledge was a classic!
