I wanted both Steve and I to sit down and just have a more personal chat on our trip, on the boat (Diesel Duck 462), and go over a few of the most common comments from the boat series. I honesty don't know how to do a live-chat (🫣), and I don't know that Steve is overly keen on it either (as even doing this video was a bit of a struggle! 🤪), so I hope that this is a good starting point. Just before we left for the airport I did a quick walk through of the boat, so I can show you the basic layout of the ship. Lastly, we'll show you the first time we met. You won't wanna miss it! 🤭 (It is a joke though, but hope you get a good laugh 😜).
See ya'll in the next one!
M 💕

Okay I've been dying to know how old Steve is to see if I am older or he is older
@@garyrollwage9012 I'm guessing mid 60's
@@elzamiller That was my wife's guess... I'm 71
A VPN is a way to protect yourself from China 🇨🇳 spy tic-tok social media platform, it's strange that CZcams and Facebook is banned 🚫 in China?
Steve is a good guy in that it is clear he is not 100% into the CZcams thing and values his privacy. But he does it because he loves you!
Exactly:) solid man Steve:)
You, Steve, the pets, the boat, life and projects at home... WOW. What a team!
You two are a perfect compliment, steve is reserved and quiet , and you lovingly force him out of his comfort zone , as always I appreciated your work , Merry Christmas to you and steve and your four legged family
Some great humor, "The diesel thingy", and this is "Something'. But the best one is the photo of when you first met. Very entertaining. You look very happy together.
Much respect for 'Bluenosers' and marine engineers. Spent 50 years in the merchant marine, the last 40 as a deck officer. There's a saying that "marine engineers were created, because deck officers need heroes too".
Over the years, have seen these engineers do some incredible things...
The more I see Steve the more I like him! He needs to be in more videos. I can tell he’s a reserved knowledgeable man. Good to see there is some real men left in this world! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for letting us into your private life and tour your boat, the boat is a perfect balance of work boat and luxury. Rural Japan reminds me why I should love people; which reminds me why I enjoy your channel in regards to the way you and Steve love your animals (even the wild ones). That Lexi girl lured me in originally but your work ethic is what we all keep coming back for. Steve sounds like a great man, tough as teak but sentimental. Merry Xmas from the UK🇬🇧
Steve sure gets into his element when he was talking about the boat (s) , very nice. Michy your eyes just sparkle every time you look a Steve ( love for sure there). Have a very Blessed Holiday 🎄
Very funny Michele . All I will say is Steve has made out very well in the marriage dept .
Thank you. It is really good to hear from you and Steve about the boat and your goals. You are both excellent ambassadors for Canada. Very best wishes from the Isle of Man.
Both of you are smart and strong minded people I have to admire that plus your love for animals.
The nearest I ever got to being a sailor was the two or three years I was in the sea scout’s. I was very surprised by the amount of space on board your boat, it’s extremely well designed and looks fantastic. I hope you both enjoy many many years of sailing and bring us along when you can. Happy Christmas to you both.
I really admire Steve's tenacity. Most of us would never delve/attempt the things that he does. he stays cool under pressure and he makes himself available for his wife. His wife is also exceptionable. She supports Steve in all his undertakings and she does the same. What I admire most, is their deep love for their pets. I wish I had ¼ the love they have for their pets. You two are awesome!!!!
Steve good job! Appreciate you taking the time out to participate in the video.
I busted out laughing at that picture, too funny!
The picture of you two meeting, priceless!
My and my wife’s first meeting picture is actually just like yours! Amazing! Nice to see the two of you together in the video. Enjoy life as much as you can.
truly, i am GlAD you had fun with this.
Merry Christmas from a warm Santa Barbara (75F). This was a beautiful video with finally meeting and understanding Steve. As beautiful as you are, it's nice to know who your with, especially if they are a big part in your daily life. That is a fantastic boat and Steve's very smart to acquire a toy while he can be able to enjoy at an early stage of life. I'm proud of Both of you to experience as many places and things as you can. And the love in your hearts to take care of all your pets is simply amazing. You too give all of you to your fur baby's. Michelle, your way to gorgeous and such a strong lady in all you handle and do. May God continue to Bless you two and keep you happy and safe. Wishing you two, warm Holidays and Merry Christmas. Big hugs 🤗😘🌹💕🙏🍷😎👏🎄🎅
There was a shot of electrical converters in an equipment area which said it did 50 MHz to 60 MHz! Perhaps I am a supernerd, but I think you meant 50 Hz to 60 Hz. In most applications I can't think of any reason to convert from 50 Hz. Most of the time you just live with the weirdness that causes. For example, in Jamaica, they had imported clock/radios for bedside guest use but the clocks were from the U.S. and the power system was 50 Hz so it meant the clocks ran 83.333% slow. Fortunately there were power interruptions more than once a day so the cumulative error was very limited.
Very nice boat! It looks well equipped for Pacific use!
Yeah that typo made me smile too - converting the washing machine based on it's VHF radio frequency 😁
This was a great one! Thank you, Steve, for sharing some of your knowledge with us and humoring your wife! I laughed out loud when you said that if you can’t work on a boat, having one may not be for you. So true. As a kid, the same held true for a car.
A great video! I loved learning more about your boat and the future plans for using it along the BC coast. Truly a masterful boat build and so beautifully appointed. Love your sense of humor with the “when we met” photo. Merry Christmas to you guys.
I understand Steve’s need for a boat, if anyone grew up closer to the ocean than Steve it would be me, I grew up in a floating logging camp on the BC coast and have always had at least one boat of some kind. I also live inland currently, just below you guys in western Montana actually. Started watching you because I have a mill like yours but have come to enjoy your non milling videos as well.
Merry Christmas.
That picture was classic, I used to tell my husband that maybe he passed me on the street when I was a baby and said to my mom, "She's going to be my wife someday." 😂 He was 24 yrs older than I, and we were married for 23 yrs before he went home. I absolutely loved being married to him and so thankful God let me have him for my husband. 🙏❤
Living your dream congrats!... WOW! AWESOME MOTOR BOAT! .... BABY PICTURE ROFLMAZZOFF! MERRY XMAS!
Hi 👋, Steve and Michelle, I forgot to mention, just in case, I hope you both have a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, ❤, Phil
Love this post, His wealth and best asset is you Michy i am sure he would agree. He is so lucky to have you in his life. God bless both of you thank you for sharing what i have been curious about for so long! That day you met kills me !!!! LOL !!!! 😂
🤣
I just love your sense of humor! Great ending to the that video - it had me rolling
Enjoyed this very much, and the picture of your first meeting was priceless. Haven’t laughed that hard in a while.😂
It was really great to hear Steve chat for a bit. I don’t think likes it very much, but I enjoyed hearing about some of his experiences. I was never much of a sailor, but I did like the adventure.
Yep, definitely not his thing to chat in front of a camera, but he did it! 😊
This is perfect. The more I see Steve, the more I find we have so much in common. I love seeing the two of you together. Although all my cats have degrees, my runt can't seem to find live prey, so he brings me stuffed toy mice to show me how smart he is. To make up for it he also brings home tall dead grass to build nests, upwards of 50 per day.
😂😂❤
Steve, thank you for your service!
What a great video! I think this Q&A format should become a thing more often. Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions. The first time meeting picture was epic!!!
Did not know Steve was ftom N.S. Seems it would take an engineer to deal with all those boat systems! Enjoyed tte boat tour, determined dog-slurping, and seeing you both. 👍😎🇨🇦🐾🐾🐾🐾🌊 LMAO re: "day we met" pic!!!!
Very Beautiful Boat and it was very interesting to know more about Steve. Be Safe and Enjoy.
Interesting listening to yourself and Steve talking about the boat. Had a laugh at the back ground noise when Clyde was having a drink of water.
Well that's interesting michy, and thank you Steve, have a great week, happy holidays and God bless amen.
I just love your boat - That's exactly what I would want. Thanks for the video, Steve is a legend!
Love it! Thanks for the unique boat tour..beautiful! Your handsome "old dog" is a fascinating man . That was a very smart catch and he has a gorgeous handy woman. Great combo..
God bless and safe sailing !
Hi Steve is super cool please have him on more often and you put out some killer content have a good day and God bless
Hello Michelle et Steve un joyeux Noël et une bonne Année 2024😊
I’ve only been watching your channel for a month or so but in that time I’ve become very awed by your abilities and knowledge you are living the life that some would be afraid of and others envy I’m am the latter ,your personality your beauty your compassion and toughness to get it done no matter the conditions show how well you can adapt to whatever comes your way and of course you ability to entertain. Steve is truly a lucky man for you are truly the total package not just your token trophy wife I wish you and Steve a very merry Christmas and a great new year! Ps. Kiss the pups for me for I’m a dog lover too I have two labs one that has a handicap and both are just loveable
I was working on a 120 ft fishing boat with stinking diesel fumes with blood & guts and fish scales all over the place, Your boats showroom condition, Taking night watch is the best time, You have the whole bridge to yourself, So you can sip your coffee & watch sunrise come up above the sea, I have so many blood red sunrises & sunsets burned into my mind, With birds that would fly then fall from 300 ft up right into the water to seal a fish from the net, Happy christmas to you & Steve and not forgetting the Fur Baby's.. Merry christmas.
Getting a custom boat like that made in China seems like quite a leap of faith!
Thanks for the inside look at your lives. That picture of you two at the end 🤣
Hello Michèle, thank you for sharing this video. Have a nice week-end ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋
Beautiful Boat. - with Catalina 30' for past 27 yrs, here in Sausalito, never regretted. Be Safe.
"Significant" was your anwser to my last question. Now we can all see. I think it's great.
Thanks for the video. Merry Christmas to you both. Take care. 👍🇨🇦
I’m glad you got Steve on camera. He’s a very interesting gentleman. And the boat is amazing, I love it’s engineered to endure the worst, yet so comfortable.
Thank you Michelle, for the insight of your life, you two are a lovely couple, No doubt about that. Love you both take care and have a wonderful week..
Very nicely equipped and a well thought out boat for the west coast of Canada. Making wonderful memories is truly what life is all about! Enjoy!
Great video guys! Very funny with that picture at the end! Lol
Boat is great will bring you plenty of great adventures and making more memories I'm sure. 👍🏴🇬🇧
I really enjoy looking behind the scenes and the QA from all the channels I watch
Enjoyed having breakfast with you once again. The closet that I have been to Michy is when you were displaying the cookies.
Close enough to kiss! Have a great Christmas and Happy New Year!
To the coolest couple team on youtube, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! 💯❤ Give your fur babies big hugs and chin scratches for us 😸
Thanks for the update and the future of the yacht. Being a boater for 66 years the DD is a little different and had my curiosity. Your video gave a good basic tour and general understanding. Guess we’ll need to wait for spring for cabin updates and thanks for all you do rescuing dogs.
My dear friend Michelle, you and Steve are two of the most beautiful people on the planet in so many ways. How great it is for us that you take the time to share. Say hello to all of the pups and Southy. Thank you so very much for this special one! ☺️
Thanks for the tour! Bombay Saphire?? 😅
My Dad worked with Jacques Cousteau for a couple years doing underwater welding around Toronto harbour. My dad Spence said Jacques had invented a torch head used in welding that saved something like 30% of the gas used, as this was a primary expense the $ savings were huge and they were undercutting everyone the whole time they worked together. it was kepped a secret for a long time for obvious reasons. my dad used lead boots and a brass helmet bellow a hundred feet, he wore a red toque as a symbol of this achievement. Jacques had also co-developed the aqua lung. a lot of the details are foggy as my Dad told me about it so many years ago...
I'm not surprised Steve admires Jacques.... many engineers do he was quite the pioneer.
Older Aircraft Carriers use to have teak wood for the decking material that wood is very expensive because its so durable. Very nice boat for sure
Wisdom, intuition, creativity, capability, tenacity, charisma, charm and a renaissance flair with you both. So glad you crossed paths and are happy to share. Keep up the hard work and inspiration creativity.
You two make a beautiful couple..
The photo of you two meeting was priceless! 😂😂😂
Nice tour of boat and family. The problems with the water-maker make sense. Other gaskets will probably have a shorter life span. Nice boat. I'm looking forward to the next boat travel up the coast across the Aleutian Islands. I've never seen video of any Aleutian Island. What a rare treat that will be.
Congratulations on your Diesel Duck. Meeting up with George Buehler and Bill Kimmel at a Trawler Fest back in the day was always entertaining !
Bill was a character for sure! We are sad of his passing as we only got to meet him in 2019.
And George “crossed the bar” in 2018.
Beautiful Boat ...and nothing better than being at sea in the peace and tranquility and just the lapping of the waves for noise ...pure bliss
Your channel is much anticipated by me just to see and enjoy what you're all doing.👌
Thanks so much for making this! You answered many of the questions I would have asked regarding Pelagic and your recent Adventure! The idea of taking on the North Pacific for 10+ days, at 7/8 knots, on one engine is definitely not for the faint of heart!
Sweet boat. I'm amazed you didn't make one with your mill. 😂
Steve seems to be a very intelligent man ( well he married you😂) … But very laid-back and private type of guy… And I can tell you’re totally in love with him… AWSOME COUPLE ❤
Enjoyed the conversation and tour.
Thank you for sharing, love that the pup was drinking water. Wow the boat is beautiful. You guys really look like a fun couple. The very last photo of the two of you near the boat is beautiful. The clouds are huge in the background. Cheers
Good morning folks, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's, Wow great story , I am a Bluenoser from NS , I live in NewGlasgow about 40 minutes from Antigonish. Lol
Thank you for the boat tour, very interesting features that were not all obvious before. What does Steve do for work with the background he has ? Wishing you both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for the generosity you show, sharing a part of your life.
Steve is a nice and interesting guy with a lot of stories to tell, hope he once will find the time to tell them on your channel. I definitely will listen to what he has to say!
Steve you cradle robber you... Happy Holidays guys thanks for the boat tour.
Great video, thanks Steve for joining in! Great tour of the boat, it's super nice. Merry Christmas!
I’m a former U.S. Navy Diver and we used meclazine for sea sickness. It requires a prescription but works great and is safe for diving. Really look forward to watching your boat adventures. My team spent 3 months on Adak. You will enjoy the Aleutian Islands.
Great Video... 🥰🥰🥰 One thing is certain. Steve is glowing when he is on the boat. One can really see his love for boat life and being on the water!!!
Steve is one lucky guy because you are an amazing woman with the things you do in your videos
It's nice to see Steve talking about himself
Awesome father/daughter Q&A. thanks for sharing the details!
Sharp boat. Lots of nice comforts and features.
Southgate! ❤
You guys are awesome! Thanks for sharing your lives with us. 😊
The day you met picture was hysterical!
From Casco Bay Maine, that ending was HILARIOUS!!! Thank you, 🇺🇲🇮🇱
I know that was painful for you Steve but I for one greatly appreciate your time. Thank you so much for sitting down and sharing a little bit. I figured you had some background in mechanical engineering. I haven’t spent much time on the ocean but what time I did was mostly the North Atlantic on weather station in the coast guard on a high endurance cutter. Got pretty rough at times. I was one of a very few that didn’t get sea sick. Thanks Michele for cuffing him to the stool 😉and love the water lapping special affects from Clyde 😂
Its so nice to see a healthy loving relationship of a married couple. Thanks for the videos and keep up the great work. Your one of my favorite channels.
Not sure what was funnier, the beginning or the end of this video. Good on you guys for living your best life and not hesitating to do what you love. I wished my brother was still with us, he was a boat enthusiast and loved the water… loved going up and down the BC coast or any lake. If there was a body of water he was drawn to it. He would’ve been very enthralled with your boat to say the least. So much beautiful teak. Thank you for taking the time to let us get to know more about you.
Your cat is well educated. I sent mine to a cat college in Arizona studying Reptile 101, Roof Rat 230 and Scorpion 216. She kept bringing her work home. Then went for her masters at Snohomish Tech where she excelled. Now back in Arizona for her PHD. Her student loans are killing me. MIT...Mouse institute of Technology.
Love the boat. Very robust and very utilitarian. I'm so jealous. Are the bulkheads to be used as Michyproof areas in the boat? Cousteau would be envious. Steve and I may have shared the waves in So.Cal..I surfed from O.B. to Santa Barbara.
Day you met picture...too funny
“We are?” 😊😅😂
THE DAY YOU MET!!!! LOL...GREAT VIDEO THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
Funny picture illustrating your introduction to Steve. Not what I expected but those are the fun surprises of life. The boat looks incredible and Steve's story of growing up with boats helps me understand his appreciation and knowledge of them.
If you sail the Aleutian coast be sure to have survival suits , survival rafts and epir portable marine radio that’s waterproof, safe sailing 😊
Michelle & Steve - There's not enough o's in smooooth for you two! And thanks for the photo cameo. When the 2 month Alaskan cruise is done, sign us up for the other cruise!
Wow you 2 and the dogs look amazingly beautiful.. I'm glad you are doing well.. my prayer 🙏 go out to you and the family. I totally respect you all..
Fantastic boat, just the right size, even got a metal working vice.cheers Guys all the best for the New Year 🙏👍
Great video. Steve caught a good one Michy! YOU
