It is still illegal to operate a vehicle even in self drive mode if you cannot operate it manually. Because if something were to fail or the computer makes an error, you must be able to take over.
I'm just wondering, what would it do if the road was poorly marked and the sign was blocked, and the mapping was off? I suppose the signs and road markings on the maps and where they apply need to be much more clear in the future, same with the tracking of the car on the map is the answer.

Despite any cons and what some people may say about self-driving vehicles, I say the idea is still worth it because not everyone is lucky enough to get their driver's license nor are able to drive, but don't want to have to rely on public transportation services all the time.
I have a driving license and i am a great driver. I want a real fully automated car - so i can see outside - nature - I just love watching outside /observe. it's far batter than a movie for me. For this reason I do need a FULLY FUNCTIONING SELF DRIVING car which Tesla is not.
Even though it's self-driving, the law will require you to be fully able (licensed, sober, awake, etc) to take over autopilot in case something wrong were to happen or the car required input from you mid-travel 💁🏻♀️

That’s the fucked up part...technically all the “drunk driver” would be doing is getting into the vehicle and inputting an address into the GPS, the vehicle will literally do everything else... If anything, you’re “over-seeing the operation of a motor vehicle” and not actually “physically driving” 🤔🤷🏼♂️ However, if anything causes the Auto-Pilot to fail and you have to drive manually, you legally can’t.
Flying cars don’t work. It requires too much fuel, takes too much space, and do you want to be decapitated if bob forgets to service his car and parts fall down, or if 2 cars crash into each other and the whole cars fall down.

Consider how complex traffic lights can be, with arrows, alignment to the lanes, multiple sets of lights at complicated intersections, what if a light is out, etc.
@@RawSpaceVideos It looks like the system is capable of stopping at red lights by itself, you can check the top right corner of the car animation window (where the speed limit is generally shown) on the screen, it's red but changes to green as soon as the traffic light changes, and after crossing the traffic light it changes back to speed limit.

They did this with FSD, with Spotify (FINALLY arrived), with auto lane change, with in cabin camera functionality, with robotaxi….Musk is trying to go to the moon yet he can’t figure out how to build a car that doesn’t have inch-wide trunk gaps. I’m a fan of him generally, I appreciate the the things Tesla HAS done. But in the same breath, I can see what they have missed on with clear eyes. Lots of missed promises to customers. Where’s the roadster from 5 years ago, where are all those 50k non refundable deposits??? Can go on and on. Tesla’s a great company but they are being run horribly.
