- Another very special piece!
I visited my local Rebuild site, which is set up to take surplus materials from construction sites and put them to good use, and I found a piece of used iroko decking and an old desk drawer. www.rebuildsite.co.uk
The result is absolutely stunning! The bowl measures 5 and 5/8 of an inch wide and 1 3/4 inches tall (approx 144mm x 45mm).
It always amazes me what people throw away. It's not waste until we stop using it!
Thank you very much for watching.

I've never seen Iroko before. What a beautiful wood!
Iroko is often likened to teak, but much more sustainable. It’s very dense and hard wearing. I really enjoyed recycling the old deck boards.
That is absolutely gorgeous
Thank you. Sometimes just keeping it simple works best. 👍
You make it look so easy, but I know a lot of planning and skill make that bowl very special! Thanks for the video.
You're very welcome! 👍
Beautiful combination, thanks for sharing. Full View and Like 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice. You make turning look so effortless.
Thank you very much!
Thanks 👍
No problem 👍
really nice piece great bit of recycling too
I’m definitely going through a recycling and repurposing phase, it adds to the challenge of making.
Very nice work. No sound? The sound of the tool cutting is half of the enjoyment of turning.
I’ve tried to keep the sound very low. When in real time the sound is relaxing, but when it’s 8x speed it sounds like painful scratching.
