Noticed the HD quality of this video compared to the others I’ve watched so far.
Good job once again 👍
I'm wondering that myself, too. The picture is brighter and crisper, more lifelike in my opinion. Did you notice it, too?
Thanks for posting this Mark. I too am married to a filipina shes 38 now im 59 now i am American weve been married 11+ years and live stateside in Louisiana. I have seen how the filapinas change when they get to the US and i dont recommend anyone bringing them home with them they CHANGE believe me. My wife is 5'2 and weighed 80 lbs when she got here. she was skinny with a nice but butt now she weighs 200+ lbs and is a rude toad frog looking something with a terrible attitude whew i dont think that would be the case if she saw girls hitting on me every day like they did in the PI.
Ouch , but you made me laugh.
this made me laugh because it is true 80% of the time.
@@scottandrews947 I am 77 my filipina is 33, we have been married for 6 years in Canada arctic. We have a wonderful marriage, my filipina works here and everybody loves her. I used to spend winters in Philippines but my wife wanted her Canadian Citizenship and passport so we moved to Canada. But most of the time you are right.
@@scottandrews947 It depends on the person.
@@daviddesorcymarried 6yrs🤔..
Married after 2 months? Gave her access to everything? It is definitely his fault for being in that situation. I would never ever give my wife/gf/partner access to all the bank accounts. I have accounts I only have access to and also setup a separate joint account as well that I fund from my main account.
Well if you haven't touched them t*ts since Ronald Reagan and all of a sudden here is a 20 something beauty for your taking....anything is possible 😆
^^^^^ YEP 100%
This story is made up. You can see holes over it. Like how was he able to transfer all his us accounts including military pension to a newly created and shared PH account so easily.... but be unable to change that to the point of sleeping on the street? Come on.
@@last_samurai6690 As I understand it, Philippines is not one of the countries where US military pay can be sent. However, you can have VA disability pay and social security payments sent to PI very easily. But yeah, does seem to be some holes in the story or in the poor saps head...maybe both.🤣
His cognition must be failing to make such a rash move.
Appreciate those cautionary tales. Some guys are not prepared, or some hook up with the wrong person. Be careful guys. All the best to you and Jen.
It's good to educate your Pinay about finances, as it doesn't seem to be very well understood there, nor here in the US either. And having things set up for them when you go to your final resting is very important. But, as the man you spoke of who transferred everything there foolishly, no matter how much you trust your Pinay, wouldn't it make sense to have an "Escape Plan" and something left back home just in case? Sounds like common sense to me.
You nailed it.
Some people have a one track mind and the belief that "everything will work out" and do not consider a backup plan. Sad stuff but love blinds you as well.
Very good video Mark..all new expats should watch this.
I love listening to these stories. About the 2d story: *why getting married in the PH if you can't get a divorce? It's a bad decision, legally/financially wise.* I mean what are the benefits in getting married for the foreigner?
This is an important message to all. Thanks for the conversation.
You covered it all the good the bad and the ugly. Thank you for sharing.
Great video Mark. I know some women can be bad in all countries. Unfortunately they know a lot of men's weakness. I know when I retire later this year I believe no matter what you need to leave yourself an out and have an emergency fund that's set away just for yourself. You never know what could happen.
In today's world I consider that good thinking!
Keep up the good work Mark! I enjoy
Thank you David 😊
Does it seem like ever since you guys told the story of helping John, the beggars are coming out of the woodwork?
Good day. Thank you so much. I have learned to expect these problems. Too many scammers in the world. Thank you for all the info.
Excellent video and a little hair raising at that.
Good stuff Mark.
Older expats are in a very vulnerable position, relying on these women to take care of them in their final years. I saw my dad become a frail elderly man from age 76 to 85 as he declined from Parkinson. He lived in ohio with his loving family around. If you don't have that loving supportive family, life would become impossibly difficult.
Meant to say thank you for posting this
"If losing $700 wipes you out what the he'll are you doing in the Philippines", LOL I like this guy.
Great video Mark. Please take care of yourself.
Thank you 😊
Great video!
your wise and give great advice
When I move to the PH next year, my plan is to have a PH bank with just budgeted living expenses. If my SO is on the account, then that is all that could be drained. I'll keep all of my $ in USA very protected. Nice to have a heads up of what could happen with too much trust.
Good plan Scotty
Hi Mark I really enjoy your storytelling keep the good work up
Thank you Sean 😊
I have a childhood friend working in hk a mother of two with two bf one is French and the other is Australian. While she and bf had a Christmas vacation a box of chocolates and assorted personal things the third one arrived from Australia. And I haven't talked with her since 2020 before the lock down when her Spanish bf that time I met him in Malatapay and guide him into their home. I got embarrassed when he once told me about euros, cellphone and wine he was asked.....its just not my kind of thing. Greed is every where and who would have thought when those people go to church on Sunday.
Mark, there are scammers everywhere, no matter who or where you are. It is shameful to hear this, that a foreigner would treat her as a guest in the Philippines country. Just makes me feel shameful. This story makes me sick. 😮
Unbelievable isn't it?
Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread...
So true
Always good Mark..Phil.
A very informative video, for all expats wanting to retire in other country be very careful in choosing woman to take care of you don't just grab a girl to be your partner.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING . .
Yeah, I have seen several bloggers mention that one guy at the meetup. World has all types. Always trust your gut.
So much for paradise in the Philippines.
Philippines is NOT a paradise. If anything it is the wild west. Anyone who claims otherwise is either naive or dishonest. Anybody who think otherwise can take up my challenge. We go Club in Tondo Manila at night or hike in one of the mountains of Mindanao for a few days. Come on. I love the Philippines. I love Filipinos. We have families there...but no it is not a paradise. Far from it.
No country is perfect
Good video Mark, However it was just a little bit annoying seeing the reflection of your window in your glasses. Keep up the vlogs, I think you do excellent interviews with such diverse expats!
Thank you for highlighting this subject. In the US there are more and more people asking for handouts when they could make some different choices and help themselves better. I am for helping people but not those who make bad choices again and again and then expect others to step in and help them.
Well said
good job Mark! People need honest information. Will they listen???
Thank you Scott 😊
Great video and information I have not seen any foreign begger's in Sipalay yet. But you never never know.
Mark it's driving me crazy. Your shirt is buttoned up wrong. lol Good video as always.
Well, that's pretty harsh but it's important to understand what can happen. I guess there needs to be some kind of contingency planning, but even that's not a perfect solution as you've mentioned if someone's mental faculties fail them.
Sad stories, Mark. That hat gives you a new look.
Thanks Mark for all of your videos. I have been here 18 years. {Married to a Filipina} So much happier here. The USA has chanded for the worst. I am a 69yo American Navy veteran of 8 years. And never thought America could get so low. Just my opinion. SAD
Thank you for watching Daniel. And for taking the time to comment 😀
Thanks for your service Daniel. A Navy & yes Army too vet here, but Navy man first. Great comment . . Happy new and through year all!! Be blessed, safe, healthy, happy, prosperous and great!
in Mexico and other foreign countries when you are broke you can go the us embassy they will give you cash plus airline ticket to us.
the trick she pulled is so well known in the phils.if he gets a lawer and if its all true she will be brought to justice.he has rights .good vid .tc there
I actually lost my passport in the Philippines but I was taken care of by the embassy. No problem getting back to South Korea
That is scary on so many levels.
So true....it does happens to locals too though these days...they live a lifestyle more than their earnings...
That's a paradise you live in !😃🤜
Despite pensions and savings to help funds for living costs the benefits of taking up a job like teaching language has the advantage of learning to adapt to a new culture with the people that can make it work.
Enjoy your videos Mark. Interesting stories and more reason to be cautious and deliberative when going into a relationship. Trust can only be earned with time and even then it's never guaranteed that someone won't still betray your trust.
well.. she cant force you out of the house even if she owns/paid for it. it conjugal property. he should have gone to the cops or the barangay
I really feel sad when I hear some foreigners who experienced bad like this, because I know the feeling.
Unless you know the person and really know his situation the best thing to say in most cases is to "hold that thought" step away and keep moving, they'll get the picture and move on to the next person, keep your guard up and don't allow yourself to get hypnotized by a patch of hair. Sorry, it had to be said.
There are really no guarantees in life. People change over time. Foreigners may choose to live in with their younger girlfriend then when she becomes nasty in the future, kick her out and find yourself a good home for the aged with 24/7 caregiving services, an in-house doctor and nurses. A Japanese retirement community has been thriving in Cavite, Southern Luzon for many years now.
Mark,
If I understood correctly, the one guy married his Filipina some 2 decades ago, she was in her twentie he in his fifties, they lived happily him and his caring wife. Then. 20 years later she milked him for all he had and did not need him anylonger. Correct?
So sad, so the good Filipina showed her real face after decade or longer. 😔
It seems to me a lawer would be a good idea BEFORE making big decisions there. Won't to build a house get a lawyer, Won't to get married get a lawyer, ....... even if I was to get married in the US she would not be on my bank account.
It's getting worse. 2023, we are going to see all the more things happening.
Facts
You can never trust a drunk!!
The one poor bastard that is married and his wife said it is not working out and wants him to leave, I would say nope. We are married and I am not leaving the house. You want to go feel free.
Like your VID'S. Gonna go to PI....
Thank you for watching ☺️
Never been in that position but common sense dictates.
Go to a country where there's no entitlement to welfare you have a contingency fund that you can use to get home.
I think Calvin from Sunshine Shoulders mentioned the guy with the hat doing the rounds at the Dumaguette meet & greet!
New world now with Begpackers everwhere ....
Of course one decent expat could help the elderly gentlement transfer his deposits to a new Phil account or an American one. Direct deposit changes can be done w/the VA, SS, etc. Taking advantage of older people happens everywhere unfortunately.
Several local expats are helping him
I don’t know about in the Philippines but in the USA being married does not stop anyone from having a separate bank account.
Wow
Lesson learned dont trust anybody even the closest person in your life.all is capable of doing evil.dont entrust everything.you give or share but leave more to yourself.
Nijce ...
what is the best area to live in in the Philippines? what are the monthly rent and expenses? Looking for a 1 or 2-bedroom house is a safe area.
Giant house you got..
The American bagger you were talking about was probably not American. He’s probably half American. I believe I’ve ran into the same guy in Manila with a perfect English accent looks American, but the brown guy came up to me after and said he was Filipino. Either way he’s a scammer.
These guys sound like interesting characters. You should start a topic in your channel titled "down and out in the PI". I bet you can wring out some interesting stories from them.
Homelessness is a frame of mind as well as a frame in space. The homeless float into areas like California, Arizona, Nevada and SE Asia with their last buck. Haven't been taught finance, (or common sense) homelessness is an eventuality for those that have never prepared themselves (lazy people) for the end of life (or life in general).
I have to agree with you 💯
And I have been homeless 😔
If you think about it, would you rather be homeless in California or homeless in Detroit? I kinda think they get out there because of the weather, plus there's probably more resources for them. Just an observation.
@A JW Indeed. And even in the "Educated" section, those aspiring to obtain "Management" type jobs have continued education, such as learning the skills to Brown Nose, and not appear to be a threat to those above you, so you can move up the ladder!🤣🤣🤣 Very difficult skills to learn!
@@ahvicremulla544 It is, but for the vast majority of US citizens, you never see them, or if you do, it's on the local news.
That's tough 🤣🤣🤣
Tell him to see Tulpo the broadcaster now the a senator
your missing the thanks button
Tell him go to Raffy tulfo
CZcamsrs promoting the expat lifestyle doesn't help the situation. Yeah, guys have always been around that messed up. Let's say your channel inspired 100 guys to move to the Philippines, and maybe 20 messed up and ended up broke. Yeah, it is all about personal responsibility and correct choices. However, the CZcamsrs are a part of this equation and that starts by selling some kind of hope to people who probably are not financially stable enough to retire early or create a successful business in a foreign country. Then the expat community gets surrounded by these type of guys and end up getting scammed or making loans that never get paid back. How many expat lifestyle CZcamsrs are out there? If my numbers are close to actual numbers, then this is a trend you will see a lot more of.
When I come to the Philippines to live, I would hope to have in place some sort of method to alarm the medical authorities of the decline of my mental faculties. If I can't remember my name, it's time to send me home. The Proof of Live method just might work.
Good approach to end of life. I think humans have a tendency to hag on to it too much knowing well the end is nigh. 😆
I have never seen it but I rarely see other expats here in Davao City. I have no idea where they hang out. I have only lived in Davao for 3 years and one in Bohol. My friends are Filipinos. I don't hang out in bars either I am sure some go there.
I'm a retired American expat living in Davao over 5 years. Stop by Bo's Coffee in SM Ecoland mall around noontime on Wednesdays. Almost always a few foreigners there

got that john d mac donald hat and glasses goin on.....ru a trav fan? ..

this video is why I stay away from foreigners when I am in the Philippines..
Not a bad idea but some local nationals can be bad also. Choose your friends wisely.

How would he get into Thailand or back to the USA without a passport?
Maybe I missed something, but the only guy mentioned who hasn't a valid passport was an Aussie. Why would he need to head to Thailand to venture on to the USA??
@@peters7229 Ok maybe I put the wrong country in. The legal problem still remains. It is not like the USA where illegals can do as they please.
😎👍🇺🇸
You guys dont know raffy tulfo he is the person who can help you. You should contact his station incase anything happens just watch youtube you will know why
If CZcams went away, wouldn't you be in that same situation?
Bottom line be prepared!!
That’s some kinda grim there. Yeah, doubt I could raise more than that 10 or 20K add in $1200 @month SSI and make it.
Hear of guys doin it.
Suspect I’ll be livin in my car here in Merica in the not too distant future.
Todd $2000 a month provides a great standard of living here.
It's a shame that this guy did what he did gives the rest of expats a bad reputation.
You need a income before you go anywhere.
May I ask are you still paying income tax to US or Canada ? Do you pay tax to Phillipines ? Who does these foreign taxes
Yes 1099 I file on the IRS website
@@everymanhasastory when you say to have let's say 2000 mo is that pre tax ?
Australians are not eligible for an age pension unless living in Australia.
Yes they are, I get pension in Philippines. All you loose is energy supplement about $150 a month. I still get $1750 a month
@@grahamedwinpearce1 yeah I was gonna say that sucks but glad you cleared it up. I am from the USA and you can get Social Security and Social Security disability, but you cannot get supplemented Social Security, outside of the US
Let me clarify a little bit. I think you can get the supplemental Social Security for a few months, but not for very long before they cut you off. If you’re outside the US.
im from England, and even I know thats a load of bunkum. Of course they get the pension.
Yes , you have to be living in Australia for 2 years to be eligible for the pension ,
Creepy
BUMS GONNA BUM
That level of naive thinking is disheartening.. feel sorry for the guy, but blind trust is not something you give, it's earned.
Well said.
Walk away
How much does a hitman cost?😁
Don't ever marry them and keep finances secret!
How do we really know what she will be like in 10 or 20 years?
You can ask that question about any woman in any country
If they are homeless in the Philippines they are not going to do any better going back to the USA or any other western country.

Thank you for watching ☺️
Plenty homeless in usa.
Sounds like America took out the trash and it went to the Philippines
No they all live in California and New York
