Thats very cool. I couldnt buy one from the U.S. Wouldnt deliver to Aus for some reason but did pick up a Volt up SP-2 Phasemeter which is pretty much the same as the PT9A. Would love to get my hands on the + version
This might be outside the scope of a product review but I though. speakers are driven by alternating current hence w/o polarity? I have seen and installed head units and speakers that have terminals that identify with being +/-
I continue to hear polarity doesn’t matter as long as all speakers match is this correct? Also if all my speakers have a negative polarity should my sub have a negative polarity as well?
ALI CARREON, the idea is that all the drivers should be in phase. In other words, all of the sound waves should be going in the same direction at the same time. All the cones should be going out at the same time and going back in at the same time. If they are out of phase it will sound a little off and if there are low frequency drivers out of phase you will hear a loss of bass since the drivers will cancel each other out. Subs are sometimes a special case. Before time alignment became readily available, the distance between the main speakers and the sub was such that very low frequencies would arrive out of phase so it might sound better to swap them intentionally. This happens more often in homes than cars where the distances are often larger. However, this was a poor man’s work around rather than a fix. Today, time alignment is an easy solution and you should not do this. I hope this helps.

I believe alternating current goes from positive to negative as the sine wave goes up and down. That would give you +/-.

Dumb question.. will this give you the correct polarity of wires even on led lights or anything besides speakers?
