So interesting seeing you create a beautiful red for these roses. I'm learning so much from you.
I am 72 years old and really haven't done any art for a very long time, but my interest has increased since watching your creations. I hope that you continue with your CZcams lessons. So informative. Thank you.
I’m obsessed with your roses a few years now I do my own but I watch your way
David Jansen makes it look too easy, ha! I decided to take him up on his 30 day challenge. Not sure what im getting myself into. I haven't really started yet but I can already tell im gonna need more paint!
LOL. Go for it Bill!
I love love love this series.
Thank you so much Shelly😀
I may not be a new subscriber but I try to leave a comment or give a like whenever i can. You deserve all the support for your magnificent work Mr. Jansen. Thanks as always!
Thank you so much Samira.
Hi again, David! I bought Brown Madder a few weeks ago -- because I'm determined to be able to paint this rose. And -- as you say several times during the video -- painting with the red takes more time because you have to know enough color theory to know how to manipulate the colors. This is about my sixth time watching the red rose lesson -- and I love it more each time. This time, though, I ended up observing just how lightning fast your painting became as the clock was running out. You didn't miss a beat -- and I found myself kind of rooting for you and smiling as you reached the 28 minute mark. You finished at about 29:32. Phew! And the painting -- both the rose and that background -- are simply gorgeous! Best regards -- JV
Thank you so much. Always love reading your comments!
I am enjoying your roses! Mine, not so much!
Takes practice. It all takes some practice. You can do it.
Gorgeous roses David!

Totally awesome.
Thank you so much Lucia.
I’m loving the challenge so far! I really feel like I’ve been able to learn to loosen up my brushstrokes!! I’m also so much faster than I used to be, still trying to cut down to 30 mins but still progressing 😆
That is awesome Tiara. That is how you do it!
Your Channel is a gold mine for us.
Thank you so much Jaziel 😀 Fun to be teaching during this COVID.

Welcome 😊
Thank you so much David for your 30 day Roses challenge. I have been painting the Roses all through this Pandemic and it has been a life saver for me. Unfortunately I am not great at painting but have loved watching you and trying my best to get them right,
at one time I nearly gave up because I seem to be worsening but I persevered and am now up to Rose 18 and loving every minute. Thank You Bette Canada
You are so welcome Bette. Thank you so much.
david i watch you all the time ive been doing one stroke for 25 years i need change i love your style thank you lovw gina badeaux
Gina Badeaux Same here with one stroke. It’s hard to stop using that technique. I’m gonna make myself adapt to this style for sure !!!
One stroke is a wonderful way to start, but you do develop some habits that take time to work past and make more casual. I have many one stroke students that transitioned very well.
Thank you David my goal is to make beautifully full roses like you do I talk to you and Tell you how pretty you're art is no 19 today was my favorite so far I bought your paints I'm Ready to join your style I love zhostovo the most you and I are the same age
I’ve been trying to watch all of these for I struggle with a rose all the time.
So did I for many years. Just have to break those habits and practice. You can do it Kimberly. If you need help I have lots of artists posting in our facebook groups and our online forums. They are all helping each other. Lots of fun!
David Jansen I will definitely check it out. Painting is my stress reliever & learning the ‘rose’ is definitely a goal of mine. Thank you so much for the feedback. 😊
I just came across your channel and I gotta say I am soooo happy❤️❤️ I’m learning so many new techniques I didn’t even know existed😍 God bless you🤗
You are so welcome! Thanks so much! 😊
Always share, as I said before my son'inlaw lurched the whole shebang. Love your books paint, easyest teacher I ever listen to.
I need to get past the being scared to use the paint.
Spending to much time on one flower.
You describe it perfect confidence! I over think everything & then question myself.
Confidence is absolute did it worked beautiful then feel back.
Thank you so much for having the channel & being such an AWSOME teacher
Scared to use paint is a huge problem with many artists. Myself included for many year. Keep going you will push through it. 👍
You should paint more red roses. This one is absolutely beautiful and the background just amazing. It looks like the rose is just coming off of the board. I could hold it in the cup of my hands. :)
Thank you so much 😀 I will paint more red roses. I promise!
I follow you from Iraq
You’re way of painting is so much fun and easy to learn and i start to like flowers painting

Oh, I do love this one too! Love what you did with the background! See that lovely dark green splotch in the upper left corner? I was hoping you wouldn’t fix that spot. You are amazing! My favorite splotch stayed in the picture! GORGEOUS, Love the whole painting! Gotta work on my splotches! 😊❤️. Mine never turn out that beautiful! 😊. I am getting better! David thank you for your wonderful lessons on roses. You have helped me in so many ways.
You are very welcome, Thanks so much 😊
I really appreciate the way you teach about color theory, and which colors to mix together, thanks!
You are so welcome! We are adding a lot more about color theory to our upgraded website on jansenartstudio.com
I am loving this, but I haven’t tried it yet. I plan to though, please continue this sort of videos!
Yes. We have been doing videos like this for 10 years. Going to continue.
I am just amazed by your work, so soft and beautiful!!! Just ordered The Heritage paints so i hope to get started soon! I tend to do more landscapes, barns etc. but i am looking forward to trying my hand in florals!! Thank you! You are such an inspiration and teacher!!
Thank you so much. We appreciate the support. Enjoy the challenge.
Wonderful art. I follow you all the time. Love how you paint your flowers so easy to follow. Thankyou
Thank you so much Lynn.
@@JansenArtEducation I thankyou for replying to me I am honoured.
Thanks. I'm ready to starrt painting again.
You can do it! It is just a bit of paint and a board. Time to have some fun! 😀
👍
Oh my gosh, I finally decided not to try and copy your every stroke and this one turned out pretty decent, 😊😊😊 I have a long.......way to go but am so thankful for your videos!!!!!
That is exactly how to approach it. Makes the roses less stiff and have more life! Gret!
Will have to do that one a few times, but as you said it’s a lot of fun. I don’t have that brown madder (vermillion) that has been one of my favorites with oils.
It is a lot of fun Cynthia. Thank you so much! 😃
I really love your roses painting tutorials although I don't use acrylics and am trying to use your techniques with soft pastels and watercolour
Not going to be easy Jane because I use a lot of paint. You can learn from the brush movement though. 👍
Buenos Dias. No Es posible que nos traduzcan en espanol ? Me gusta esta forma de pintar y nopuedo seguir los consejos que creo que nos Dan. Felicidades a David Jansen.
Sorry we don't have translations. Cost too much for free videos. Sorry.
Amazing background .. Is it acrylic painting please ?
Yes, I only paint in acrylics. Heritage Acrylics. Links are in the video description.
Love your classes. ❤️Can I paint on canvas please. ??
I am painting your roses. But they are very stiff. Not flowing
I don't use canvas because the weave distorts the flow of the roses. You can use canvas if you take the time to fill in the weave with paint.
Thanks. Really appreciate your reply. Would like to share some of my work with you. So happy to have found you. Your work is amazing.🌺
Your lessons are amazing! I was wondering... what color did you use for the canvas? I’d love to try this, I don’t quite have this hues at hand and it is very difficult to get them in my country 😭 :( would burnt sienna do for brown madder? Cad red light for the napthol red? Alizarin crimson for the quinacridone? Maybe pthalo green for the pine green? Any advice would be greatly appreciated ♥️
Hi Christina, Thank you. I use a light grey made from black + white and touch Yellow Oxide. As for the colors, no Burnt Sienna will not work for Brown Madder. They are too different. I never use Alizarin Crimson because it is a fugitive color. Phthalo green will have to have some yellow and touch red mixed into it to get closer to Pine Green. You can use the cad red, just be careful because it is a very toxic pigment. I don't allow it in my studio ever.
@@JansenArtEducation Thank you so so much for your answer! I can't wait to try this out! and thank you for the advise on the Cad Red! I live in Colombia and it is possible that we don't have the same guidelines for toxic pigments as in the US. Do you have an instagram account? I'd love to tag you when I post my version :)
Hi David i tried this painting... I want to show it to you.. please
What do you use as a palette?

Why did you move from Pennsylvania and is the climate nice where you are now
My son is a surgeon and director of medicine at a new hospital in Sidney. So we bought an art gallery there to spend some time with our grandchildren. We love this town as well.
