My eye's refresh rate isn't high enough to comprehend what's happening
Don't worry, if you saw this on a 144hz monitor, you would have no problem even as a beginner. It has a lot of ghosting on something like 60hz. Your eyes can match up with 300hz+, some say over 1000. Regardless, when you play it's like time slows down and you can keep up. I guess you can say it's like what goku might feel if he were real ;)
lol no, the human eye can see far more than that. The difference between 144hz and 60hz is like night and day, much like comparing 30hz to 60hz. You eliminate a lot of the ghosting issues but going beyond 144 to 2XX is not really noticeable for most people. Perhaps it makes a difference when you're in the zone but I never got to try such a nice monitor so I can't tell you.
FPS and Hz are two different things, it's easily mistaken because games can only have as many FPS as the monitor allows in Hz (Refresh rate). Going beyond that is pointless unless of course you're just wanting to see what your GPU can handle. Nobody really knows how high our eyes can recognize things, some say it's around 180Hz, some say it's around 3000Hz, different studies show different results but it really depends on the person.
Think about it this way, when you look at a monitor at 59.9Hz and there's a 60Hz monitor next to it, which one becomes fuzzy or has lines moving up or down? People don't notice the refresh rate consciously but once they do, they start to realize why they get migraines all the time when they stare at a monitor. Changing the refresh rate to match what you should be seeing can make a huge improvement in your life and everyone is different. 24FPS was the standard on TV because it required less bandwidth, wasn't too expensive for film and people wouldn't care about the crap quality on old screens. But 24FPS would still play on monitors and TVs that could support more like 59.9Hz, 60Hz etc... Like I said, they're two different things.
No, 24fps is standard for certain types of shows and it depends on your definition of TV and what channels you watch it on. HDTV channels tend to broadcast higher up to 30fps and 3D channels have to broadcast even higher. Anime now is being released at a whopping 30 and 60fps depending the studio for some channels and bluray release. Much of it though is created by algorithms though so it's not all drawn but artificially created. The reason why 24fps is "standard" for many cable companies in the US is because they don't want to pay for the bandwidth to get it to your house at higher framerates. Some cable companies do broadcast higher especially outside the US where 25-30 is more common. In modern films / TV it's not uncommon for 120fps+ to be broadcasted especially on Netflix / Amazon / Hulu / CZcams etc... Part of the reason why cable TV is dying fast.
Just to clarify, FPS is different than Hz. You can match FPS with Hz and your eyes will enjoy it a lot. If you have a weird number for Hz, you'll see flickering or buzzing on the screen. If you have 2fps on a 144Hz monitor, you won't see flickering or buzzing, it'll just be choppy animation. RED cameras used in studios and stuff all record at 120FPS and up now.
You're the type of person that just doesn't give up and admit they are wrong by trying to find fault in someone's discussion just for the sake of a continued argument. Just google it already. You can find anime up to 60fps commercially (as well as fan-created) and I even saw 2 anime in 3D, yes 2D rendered in stereoscopic is weird but it's crazy neat. Anime is no longer just hand drawings, a bulk of it is made using 3D software now so 60fps isn't that difficult to achieve. For the rest of anime, they have algorithms that convert them to 60fps by generating in-between frames using machine learning.
Jesus christ, just drop it already. You are absolutely annoying. You turn one simple thing into a big argument. I honestly don't care about proving otherwise, you will just try to find another excuse to seem right. Take a chill pill, you don't have to try to be right every freakin time. I was trying to educate but you just want to argue. I'm done.

Though I prefer Stepmania cause their notes are more readable than osu!mania's 2-colour scheme. I got put off trying to play osu!mania any further just because of that, lol.

osu!mania is harder than actually playing the piano. I'm not even kidding, it really is.
If you got mania stamina and you start playing piano maybe you can easily be a GOD
Depends on what youre specifically comparing. Sure, playing Fur Elise on the piano is probably easier than doing a 7* in osu!mania, but there are many things with piano that take hundreds or even thousands of hours of practice, that would obviously be harder than playing a 2* in osu!mania
@@taggerung_ that's a good point you make. I meant more like the hardest thing on osu mania is probably harder than the hardest piano piece to learn
It's scary to think that there is so much more improvement for 4k left to practice but you still have 5k, 6k, 7k, 8k etc to start learning if you ever do decide to move on or reaching the limit to 4k which I think isn't even close for anyone yet. Skill ceiling is very high for mania games. I love it.
"Skill ceiling is very high."
Definitely.
czcams.com/video/zxdzS-QAz58/video.html
Late reply but Fefemz's Paradox D28 play was just insane. It was also hyped as hell lol.
Tbh as someone who started out on 7k (bemani, o2jam, whatever) I feel that 4k charts are much easier to become harder due to it having only 4 keys. Those people will try to cramp in as much notes as possible on all those 4 keys and as such you wrist also comes into play, much more than when you're playing 7k.
And then repeat the same process for other amount of keys (5k, 6k, 7k, 8k, 9k, etc.). The ceiling is very high indeed.
I just dont care for 5k or higher lol
Phi_TK highest and hardest is 16k though nobody is going to make it there ever

Like, how can people play with those Arrow Skins
Edit after a year: wow 1.8k likes thats insane lmao y'all are intense
How? Before OsuMania, there was another game which mania was based on and it is called STEPMANIA or DDR this game used only arrow skin, so basically we had no other choice.
Osu! mania has nothing to do with DDR. The arrow skin is a ripoff and DDR is based on actual "dancing", not just pushing keys.
Well the history is Stepmania is the program ITG used which was an off brand of DDR. Konami sued ITG and thus no more machines were made. Since Stepmania was open source people downloaded it on their computers and stuff and started to use their keyboards for it. Also around that time FFR (an online browser version) was made as well which only used keyboard and it also used the arrow skin. Since Osu! and Osu!Mania came a lot later, a lot of people were already used to the arrow skin from FFR and Stepmania. Therefore, a theme was made making it easier for people to switch over to osu!mania. Also in my own opinion it is way easier to read arrows than the bar things, but it depends on what you are used to.
osu!mania is based on Konami's beatmania, not stepmania.
Yes it is. I was just giving some backstory on why the arrow theme is so popular.
I'm shook just by looking at this progression video
oooohhhhhh nice mate keep this up n u tachyon soon >:d
by the way I'd like to ask how you managed to merge all these replays into a single video / what program did you use for this video?

5:31 THAT SLIDERBREAK RIP. I have been playing mania for about 8-9 months and am working on passing high 6 stars. I keep pushing planet shaper to the side because I need to work on jacks. If anyone feels like they won't improve just keep playing. Eventually you'll be able to do stuff that you can even surprise yourself with.
damn man thats some fast improvement, beeing able to do 5* maps in under a year is something you see everyda honestly and that's impressive, hands down for the grind and the dedication.
I've been playing osu!m for like a year now and im also noticing the improvement, ( can barely do 4,6* maps) and i dont really play ranked maps so i just have like 3,6k pp
but since i got better out of nowhere i reallt appreciate playing osu!m
so a message to all the people willing to start playing osu!mania or want to get better/improve, man, just play the game and have fun, always try to challenge yourself in difficulties and push to do more.
thats how i did and i immediatly got better guys DO NOT demoralize if u see someone better than you just ask for tips and improvement comes with patience, always remember that

Yeah, for example, I have 3 years playing osu! mania, currently, I'm stuck in 4*, some songs with S, but above 4.6* I can't get an S on any song I play.
I improved my gameplay when I started to play 5* songs, first I couldn't pass the songs, but..I suddenly started to improve a little, and somewhat I managed to pass some 5* songs (With a poorly 84-92% but passed)
Now I'm trying to always play harder songs that I can't pass to improve, because for me, I will be stuck in the 4* songs if I don't play harder songs, going out of my "comfort zone"
Somewhat I am improving more my gameplay, little by little
4+years but have only 3.4k pp here #feelsbadman
60 hours in and can't S even on low 3* :/
Amazing Improve So crazy !! Really well done
I've been playing these kind of games since 2015 and I remember back then I used to be really really bad.
But somehow I managed to play nonetheless to improve even further and further.
2-3 years ago I tried OsuMania and got hooked right away.
I never really played too much, or like, daily. I always played when I felt like it (which was still almost daily or atleast 2-3 days break in between).
I'm currently able to beat 5 - 6.5* maps with a solid accuracy (93-97%, mostly 95% just to get that S).
What I found interesting about myself is, that I still find myself getting better at this game,
but only after taking long breaks of not playing the game at all (2+ weeks).
I never really cared about PP as I mostly play maps that aren't even ranked, but I like listening to them and play good maps.
I still wonder how I got this interested to these kind of games. It all started with a Sound Voltex Video back then, I lurked around and found K-Shoot Mania, and later on switched over to Osu. It's been a long journey and I'm impressed about myself, since most people that spectate me playing Mania are mostly shocked as to how I am able to read all these patterns and hit them correctly.
Here's my profile if anyone wants to see:

How tf do you read downscroll I can only do upscroll...
idk downscroll has always felt more natural than upscroll
Meme Lord How do you read upscroll? I can only read moderately fast songs there. I read really fast if it's downscroll though.
Ive played stepmania for 15 years so im accustomed to upscroll BUT any othet rhythm game i play downscroll... i think its just how u learn
you can change osu to downscroll so it still has the customability
i've played upscrow for a couple hours and i don't get it
You’re the fastest improving player I’ve ever seen. Definitely potential to become a god.
I love the songs used in these hyper-active games, as a dubstep listener everyday they actually are pretty enjoyable and different from the usual hardcore and innovative style of the usual dubstep. I have severe ADHD and those type of tracks just seem more fitting to me tbh

Damn! You improved really fast! I started exactly the same month as you and today I can barely play dense JS/speed/tech maps under 5* or above consistently. I usually can only play maps above when the session is good which like a day or two in a week only. Do you have any tips on how I can improve that? Cheers!
Mirza it doesnt matter that you started the same month as him but how many u have hours
I wonder how your accuracy looks nowadays, hopefully you worked on that more, 3 years ago you were starting to play some charts that are up there in difficulty
About 55 days ago I watched this video, it really made me want start playing Osu!Mania again. I had kinda left Osu!Mania for like 4-5 months before watching this video and all I could play previously were really early 2 star maps and now I'm starting to get to 4 star maps (well I've done five so far and I was soo close to beating a couple others) So yeah, kinda proud of myself and it's pretty much thanks to this video.
And for reference, at the time of this comment I've so far played 2,831 times with 68 hours into it
How the fuck did you improve so fast I've been playing for like 2 years and I can barely pass 5 stars.
Chettar when you come to love a game and I mean LOVE you will improve fast
Scrubmuffin08 I used to love osu alot and played it tons, I've been stuck on 4 star maps on standard osu.
You can like something all you want but some people simply don't have the skill to improve, or their potential has already been maxed out
RavelordNito O2Jam was one of the first computer games I played back in 2006. I've been playing VSRGs since. FeelsBadMan
Have you tried mixing coffe and energy drink together ? You might get a heart attack but its worth
You dont have to spend alot of time each play session just 15-30 min a day is enough . But you must play it daily . You dont have to play to improve just need to put something in your brain so it can process stuff like how computer load background program .and it will slowly become your musle memory . Training daily is much better than spend a few hours each session but not often . Thats just how human brain works
I would love play count with each play so we actually know how much you played. This is important bc even if two people started playing at the same time, one might play more than the other and have obviously more improvement. Improvement should be rated as skill/time instead of just saying when you started. Not everyone plays the same amount.
Just pointing out a flaw in all these types of vsrg improvement videos, not hating. Great video, and that is some of the greatest improvement I've seen. I've started the same time as you did, but didn't play actively so I'm nowhere near your level (as a comparison and example of my point). Keep going if you have the time! (I would too but I'm not improving much so I'm taking a break)
If ur intrested in how my play count has been this year u can check out this gyazo.com/c1f8b49385ccbcea3fccaa124b043230 its also available on every osu players profile. It is going to be really hard to calculate the excact playcount by each play ofc, the graph should atleast give u some estimates, as you can see from the graph my playcount has been really stable and I've taken not many remarkable breaks. Wich usually results in a more stable improvment. Another thing to point out is that a playcount is registred as soon as u press play on a ranked map, even though if ur restarting the map immediately after, so basically I've seen players with waay lower playcount than me and in some cases lower playtime that has actally more total hits than me for instance. The best thing u can do if u really want to look at a player's progression in skill is that u should compare wich keymode they have played(4k,7k), playtime, total hits and playcount, players can also play offline and "hide" their stats wich I find very senseless if ur doing it on purpose, and also as you mentioned how much a player has played the game without taking long breaks, its also a bunch of more things that I won't bother to mention. But anyways this video is not about bragging about how "Fast" my improvment has been this year, I simply made this video just to share how my year has been with this game. Thanks for sharing ur opinion though
I remember when I wasnt able to play 1 star maps on mania now I can play 5 stars, improvement

edit: what keyboard do you use (membrane is slowing me down), how should i continue improving (i cant get past 4.5*)
"what happend after you play osu!mania for 1 year?"
You'll see god
Made me so happy to hear wagakki band towards the end. I love when my obscure ass music taste shows up.
When the notes go so fast that the screen starts showing doubles / triples of ghost notes... Thats when I stop
in 1 year of stepmania i remember i only played songs that i loved, not that it progressed me in your rate 13 years ago. But i believe the pressure and choices too excel is better now than then. i feel you managed too surpass me on Osu! because my skills from there isnt as good when in forms of Long Notes in this game :)
Honestly, this is pretty cool but the problem is that sometimes, there are 7 buttons that you have to press. Because of this, I think that I’d rather play Eterna or something but even then, I’m better at playing the original osu (where you gotta click circles)
You only have to press 7 buttons if you play 7k maps, which you can tell are these kinds of map if they have [7k] in the difficulty text area
@@taggerung_ Lmao, I don't play Mania so I can't tell... I play Etterna more
@@TH3PLA1NP1L0T well id say thats a win, since I would recommend etterna ove osu!mania anyways
